damn kris gets 53 citations for their pronouns where susie and ralsei each get 1
Kris can be a "youth" instead of just "person"
Idea: you can choose from different species as long as it CAN be found in your area
aesop's fables are actually really good
Especially when you stop see them as being kid lit. They're not. The bad guys win. And a ton of fables end with someone dying, and while a fair amount of them are getting their commuppance, they are often totally innocent. Aesop wasn't trying to say, "Don't end up like this character." What I'm also amazed by how his how many of them there are. And how many of aesop's work can easily parallel our own situations. In the most recent fanfic I helped write I can think of four fables off the top of my head that parallel the situation.
And they really make me feel strong emotions.
So give aesop another chance, and when you do, don't necessarily expect all the lessons to be about virtue. Some of them are just lessons about how cruel society can be, or about uncomfortable truths. And some are pretty straightforward stories about virtue. But honestly this guy is like a mad genius.
This is my favorite one. I actually laughed out loud when I read it.
The Thief and the Innkeeper | Sacred Texts Archive
As a kid, I didn't like aesop, mainly because I had this image of an arrogant guy who thought animals "deserved" to die for not following his lessons.
But now I understand nuance. Sure, some animals did die for not learning the lesson, but a lot of times their deaths were tools to learn the lesson.
Like this one:
The Eagle, the Cat, and the Wild Sow | Sacred Texts Archive
But now I really appreciate him. HE WAS MORE THEN JUST THE "VIRTUE" GUY.
He had a sense of humor, dry wit, and he was extremely insightful.

Anyone else notice how Susie started hiding her bangs after she saw Toriel drunk?
It seems like it was being implied she actually wanted to stay over at first.
But when Toriel begins acting drunk, giggling uncontrollably with a flushed face, acting rather scatterbrained...
her demeanor changes
This implies Susie might have negative associations with drunk parental figures.
Toriel even seems to realize that there's something that's bothering Susie, but it only occurs to her after Susie has left: the damage has been done by then.
"there's nothing wrong with [Berdly] he's just annoying" hits so different when you're neurodivergent
When you've been the "annoying kid". Half of Berdly's behavior is crippling insecurity but the other half is huge social unawareness. He sincerely thought Noelle had a crush on him and apologized for leading her on? That's just one example, I'm kinda getting some neurodivergent vibes from this guy but anyway Queen is really funny and I love her but her running from Berdly was a little painful to watch :,)
Welp, I think he's officially dead from the electrocution guys :(

Hey! The suicide prevention hotline number is now 988!
i'm honestly surprised i've never drawn Scrappy before. he's just a lil guy <33 taking him out to get a happy meal as we speak. did a plain version, and one with spots. i'll probably mess w my design for him more later.
anyways, figured i'd share some hcs/an au for this dude. to start, a pretty basic one is that his collar is Scoob's old puppy collar. either Ruby Doo, or Scooby found it in an attic or something, and gave it to him as a gift. it's probably one of his favorite possessions now.
after that i also rly like the idea of Scrappy being half alien. besides some little things, whenever the gang encounters something actually supernatural in the old shows, Scrappy is there. also, in one of the scooby and scrappy episodes, and alien from a species that looks just like him, spots Scrappy and assumes Shaggy and Scooby are holding him hostage.
i probably wouldn't go w one of those aliens as scrappy's dad tho. maybe one of the ones from alien invaders. i think that could be fun lol.
but ye, i honestly like the idea of Scrappy being some half alien who has a tendency to attract the supernatural. i would joke about being part alien explaining his appearance, but he's not even the strangest looking Doo. just look at Dixie Doo and her human ass proportions lmao.
The entire half-alien paragraph is terrific, makes so much sense LOL
The best part was how the alien species' official helmet looked like a Devo hat! XD
Stop Anonymous Hate Project
The Stop Anonymous Hate Project is a project where we raise awareness about anonymous hate.
Anonymous hate can really damage a person, and make them feel depressed, anxious, and even suicidal.
It’s a big deal.
Just a simple reblog to help raise awareness can make a whole load of difference.
Thank you.
NO ONE- I REPEAT NO ONE- DESERVES ANON HATE.
The Aristocats (1970)

spoilers man
from this ask polly
Now that Britney Spears is free, she’s inevitably going to do something weird and off-putting because she was in a long term traumatic situation with very little control of her life and getting your shit together is hard in the best of times and that does shit to a person and I’m genuinely afraid the public who has been rooting for her for so long is going to turn on her and even start questioning whether or not it’s good for her to be free of the conservatorship and people are gonna need to remember that the answer to that question is unequivocally yes
