Need to investigate the flooding situation on my dash lately
A little something in the new FF movie that made me so happy.
Johnny is smart. They remembered.
For so long in both canon and fandom Johnny has been simplified down to "pretty/popular boy". But they always forget that Johnny was selected to join the team and go into space in the first place for his talents.
Not his good looks and flirting.
He's smart, basically a genius. Not as much as Reed, obviously. But he can hold his own in a lab. He loves nerd stuff. He can understand it.
You have no idea how happy it made me to see Johnny take an interest in Reed's work, to actively participate in it, to make positive contributions. To nerd out about flying to space, to be both smart and compassionate enough to decide to figure out how to communicate with the unknown that everyone feared.
That man not only had the brains to work in a lab, but he was the most compassionate out of all of the members, and he was breathtaking putting both of those qualities before himself.
I'm glad to see a Johnny that isn't so one note. One who could stand on equal footing with people like Peter Parker. Down with the 'Dumb Blonde' Johnny era!
headcanon that clint and natasha are banned from playing never have i ever with the other avengers because they kept putting fingers down for the craziest stuff like “assassinated someone with royal blood while on camelback” or “conned the mafia into stealing art for shield” and they’d refuse to say anything except like “lmaoooo that’s corsica for you” or “*shrugs* the desert amirite” and it drove everyone crazy
In the wide, quiet spaces of BLM land, I heard echoes of a past we’ve buried—and a future we still might save.
The Bureau of Land Management oversees an astonishing 245 million acres. “How on earth had I never heard of these lands?” asks Josh Jackson.
This week, Longreads shares an excerpt from Jackson’s new book, THE ENDURING WILD: A JOURNEY INTO CALIFORNIA’S PUBLIC LANDS, out on June 24 from Berkeley publisher Heyday. In the book, Jackson sets off to explore California’s overlooked wilderness. Our excerpt zooms in on Jackson’s time in Bodie Hills in the Eastern Sierra, and he discusses the tragic legacy of gold mining in the state.
For many gold mining corporations, their practices can be distilled into a simple formula, as evidenced by a century and a half of environmental destruction and abandoned mines across the West: Find the mineral, devastate the landscape, take the money, and then abandon the site once profits inevitably dwindle.”
When viewed from the perspective of today, the harsh reality of boom-and-bust gold mining becomes clear: The brief boom benefited only a fortunate few. The bust was for everyone else.

Verified: Microsoft 365 gets massive 45% price hike — and it's all to do with AI tools (Tom's Guide - January 17, 2025)
oopsie i tripped and spilled my link to archive dot org's downloadable copy of Microsoft office suite for 2007, which features no AI tools and is a powerful word processor that still holds up just fine on windows 10!
what’s it called when you’re so disconnected from reality that cold water doesn’t feel like anything and you can barely taste food anymore
Shout out to the USA for pissing Canadians off so bad it flipped an entire election that was supposed to be a landslide for the center-right, forever in your debt o7
Shout out to the USA for pissing Australians off so bad it flipped an entire election that was supposed to be a landslide for the center-right, forever in your debt o7
For context, as of writing with ~70% of votes counted and 12/150 seats still not called, Labor has already delivered a LANDSLIDE victory even bigger than Canada's.
The ALP currently holds 88 seats, which amounts to a 58% share of the parliament, up from 77 the last election.
Also, obligatory Destiel:
Next week I'll start grimly accepting that a majority government isn't an ideal outcome and a larger Green and leftie Independent presence would've been much better but for now let's point and laugh at the right wing coalition pratfalling down the stairs because honestly this went a lot better than I expected it to.
Eat shit cunts. We're a centre left country for now. By like, a ridiculous margin.
Not now kitten daddy's googling his symptoms
Daddy has five days left to live
Daddy wishes to be cremated

Leonid Pasternak (Ukrainian, 1862–1945) - The Torments of Creative Work

If I were a security guard for a person who’s being targeted by assassins I simply wouldn’t devote my entire attention span to every single noise I hear.
Why do I care if there’s a random noise in this out-of-the-way dark corner? My post is right here.
But… but I threw a rock there. Y-you gotta check
If I hear a noise I’m gonna throw a flash grenade in that direction.
MY EYES AND EARS
“Got a neutralized assassin in gate 17.”
“Did they try distracting you by throwing a rock?”
“Yeah, they did.”
“Fucking idiot.”
4 years of community assassin college for nothing
You know what really makes this post? The fact that the assassin’s blog is deactivated. Seems OPs flashbang worked.
What have I done?!
i’m losing my mind
STOP REBLOGGING THIS my phone is glitching an astronomical amount and I immediately knew the culprit was one of my tumblr posts gaining traction
