Ahem. So. It's very early for this and I'm so sorry this is my brain but Imogen and Laudna's whole Thing kinda gives me queer victorian marriage vibes. They're just cohabitating with a sweet old lady who doesnt mind their Strangeness (let me tell you that is a *trope*) getting groceries, buying (an excessive amount of) tea for Imogen's headache with a sense of both care and familiarity, referring to themselves as a unit, ("she doesnt like us!"), they appear to share the same singular goal.... like look, even the Legendary Codependents Nott and Caleb had this "I help you and you help me" thing going... Just realized with a start that FCG is the closest yet to Critical Role's first main cast, main campaign PC himbo.

You know. I see the take that Fjord was a himbo and every time I'm like "...are you aware of the concept that words have meanings" so right here, right now, we're going do a comprehensive ranking of main cast Critical Role PCs to help us understand why this take is inscrutable.

Please reference this post for the definition of himbo; while the specific mechanical designations are my own, the primary requirements (kind, beefy, stupid, masculine-aligned) are non-negotiable. Kindness is somewhat subjective and I've made my judgments, but I've left it up in the air for most C3 characters.

Grog Strongjaw: 75% himbo (beefy, stupid, male)

Fjord: 25% himbo (male)

Bertrand Bell: 50-75% himbo (beefy, male, kindness to be determined)

Keyleth: 50% himbo (beefy, kind)

Therefore:

Grog, FCG, and Caduceus lead the himbo charge but Caduceus's low strength and Grog's propensity for 24/7 murder are disqualifying; FCG just fails to achieve my himbo strength score cutoff and could easily reach it via a future ASI. Fjord's 14 intelligence score is entirely disqualifying.

Covering these final comments. Going forward any further replies do need to take the form of a five paragraph essay on the grounds that at least then I have some sense that you did the reading.

1. "Kindness debatable" means I felt that character's kindness is too subjective for me to definitively say but I am open to both a "yes, they are kind" and "no, they are not" opinion.

2. I have been championing INT over WIS for years while everyone around is like "lol dump intelligence here's my lore bard with 25 charisma and 5 intelligence, this definitely makes tons of sense" and suddenly a party shows up where most people have a higher wisdom score than intelligence score and everyone's like "they're FUCKED" and it's like oh. huh. funny. I thought you wanted this. funny that when faced with the logical conclusion of your statements you suddenly freak out. ANYWAY my point is wisdom is mechanically very useful but people rarely actually play high wisdom as "making good decisions" because if you made good decisions in D&D you would probably stay home and open up a small business. As Marisha Ray once said, well-adjusted people don't go out and fight dragons.

3. To that end, Fjord is described in-universe as "astute"; Caduceus (to use an example) is incredibly intuitive and therefore can pick up on some weird outliers but there's only so far you can go when your entire base of experience is mourners, your immediate family and aunt, and the guy in Shady Creek who sells dry goods. Similarly Jester says a whole lot of wildly inappropriate shit; obliviousness is just as tied to intelligence (which includes experience) and to an extent charisma (see: Keyleth) as it is to wisdom.

ALSO:

this is a fair point; I took it into consideration but because he is still very much a skinny guy and not beefy (insert cow joke here) I disqualified it. That said, I am open to alternate strength/con interpretations, eg, I think a +3 to con and +1 to strength may be acceptable, which would put Fjord, Scanlan, and FCG all in the "beefy" column, thus propelling FCG into Full Himbo Status.
