Friendly reminder to those considering Octocon:

Octocon is not "neutral on syscourse". The dev of Octocon is "someone who has chosen not to apologize for promoting the mistreatment of vulnerable community members".

They "stay out of it" because snooping through user's accounts is against their own ToS. They have renounced "discourse" in later months and said they regretted previous server rules, but I have never seen them issue an apology (specifically) for the fact that they enabled the endangerment of vulnerable community members. I do not support witch-hunts, but people considering octocon should have as much awareness of the history surrounding this bot as possible (and I, personally, dislike that they've posted about regretting the use of previous rules, but have 1. not apologized for the endangerment of community members, and 2. have removed a record of these previous rules from their server (it would be more impactful if they kept a record of the previous rule they claimed to renounce).
