I understand the transition away from the term "comorbid" (any medical terms with morbid in it sounds more scary than it should) but also I love the word. Co-morbid. Me and my morbids are co. My company of morbids. My medical condition, my statistically likely to be present medical condition, and me.
the dance dance rebellion has failed to become a dance dance revolution and the dance dance repressive regime has kidnapped your fellow dance dance radicals in the middle of the night and taken them to a dance dance re-education camp. they're gonna get dance dance relentlessly tortured
trying to explain to tumblr that the Middle Class in not their enemy
saw someone say that someone complaining about only having 7k in savings makes them contemplate âdoing something badâ
you know that 7k covers like. one hospital visit WITH insurance, right?
âpeople who make six figures shouldnât be allowed to complain ââ most people who make six figures are, these days, solidly middle class. where i live, a combined household income of $110k is *lower middle class*.
âpeople who can afford homes ââ are typically 400-600k in debt for them. also if âcan own your own homeâ is your threshold for the rich you are contemplating eating, i think you are genuinely stupid
âboohoo your investments dropped, stop complaining rich boyâ idk how to tell you this but. most of us have a retirement account. you should probably open one
This is why Pride is not just a party. It's a joyful celebration, but it's also a pointed and colourful two-finger salute to a world that stood back whilst so many of us died. And we'll never go quietly, never again.
are you âadaptableâ or are you just willing to subject yourself to existing in low key background-level ambient misery
these are different things btw. actual adaptability means not dealing with being miserable long term. and being constantly mildly annoyed/frustrated with a situation but being âable to deal with itâ counts as ambient misery. btw.
let this be your sign to make your life just a little more livable. get a dollar store trash can for your bedside so Cup Cityâs invasion plans fall through. block a tag or post that makes you grind your teeth every time you see it. get some grip pads so your bed stops sliding across the hardwood a little bit every time you get in it. tell that person you need a little more support. if you get annoyed at a situation more than a couple times, change it. donât be content with being miserable.
and the more that you start doing this, the better you will get at detecting your own feelings and advocating for yourself! This is an important start to being more of a person in the world if you struggle with that
so iâve eliminated my phone from the âstaying up all nightâ equation by getting an alarm clock and charging said phone in another room, but this resulted in a second, secret problem of staying up too late drawing because i still had my tablet. i donât wanna move my tablet to another room as well because i like having a little bit of drawing time before bed so for about a week i was likeâŠ.. oh iâll just force myself off at the correct time eventually. one of these days that will happen.
but last night realized i'm never gonna just gain the willpower to curb my bad habits at random, thatâs the entire reason i took the phone out of the room, so i just. set my tablet to turn completely greyscale from 12:30am to 8am to prevent me from staying up all night drawing. and guess who actually fucking went to bed the second his tablet turned grey.
moral of the story and a lesson i think everyone can take from this is donât expect yourself to just get over your bad habits through sheer force of will. it wonât fucking happen. instead make them as annoying as possible to continue. make them completely unsatisfying. sabotage your bad habits.
ive never been able to take "climb him like a tree" as a sexual innuendo seriously because i picture climbing a tree in my mind and then i picture a tall man in my mind and when i put those two things together im not seeing anything sexual. im seeing like. circus tricks.
sonce the sports are happening big rn where i live i made a handy chart of all the phrases i use to communicate with my loved ones during these trying times. i thought others might find it useful too
ive discovered you can have whole conversations with people using just these phrases and none will be any the wiser that you dont even know what sport it is theyre talking about
wedding dresses are white specifically so that if the bride goes axe-crazy you can rest assured you will see the blood stains all over her and it'll be sick as fuck
*test driving a car with the salesperson in the car with me* hey do you mind if i test the sound system with my music?
yeah sure go ahead
*connect my mp3 player*
*song starts and the vocals are clearly my voice*
i love crashing my car, crashing the car i'm driving is my favourite, the only thing i love more than crashing cars is crashing cars with other people in the car with me
at some point in your life you will be boiling fruit, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a pot to make a syrup or jam. the instructions will tell you to simmer for a certain amt of time. your timer will go off and you will look at the pot and go, "hm, this doesn't look thick enough. maybe i'll let it go for another 10 minutes." this is the devil speaking. it's only so liquid right now because it is at boiling point. it will thicken when it cools down. learn from the follies of my youth and do not let this happen to you
at some point in your life you will be making a sauce or a stew in which you need to add cornstarch to thicken it. and you will prepare a slurry of starch in cold water and think "this looks like way too little starch to thicken this amount of liquid." this is the devil speaking. cornstarch instantly polymerizes at 95°C and if you add too much it will turn into an impossibly thick goop.
at some point in your life you will be making some sort of cream based dessert that requires gelatin to thicken it. and you will soak some gelatin sheets in water and think "this is too few gelatin sheets for this amount of cream." this is the devil speaking. it will thicken in the fridge and if you add too much you will end up with milk jelly
at some point in your life you will be baking cookies. you will take the sheet out after twelve minutes as the recipe instructs and the cookies will still be glistening and soft. "these don't seem cooked enough," you will think to yourself, "i should place them back into the oven until their edges are nice and golden." this is the devil talking. this is how you get dry, overdone cookies. the cookies will continue to bake on the warm sheet for several more minutes and then harden up after sitting on a rack for a while. trust the process. trust the process.
at some point in your life you will be adding a small pasta to a soup and you will think "that is not enough small pasta." this is the devil talking. the pasta will absorb the stock and expand. this is how you end up with a soup that is a solid mass of soggy ditalini.
At some point in your life you will be adding garlic to a dish and you will think "that is not enough garlic." These are angels speaking. They are correct. Add more garlic.
Me: okay I am done talking about this thing that's upsetting me. Bye.
*literally two seconds later*: AND ANOTHER THING
sherpas used to be treated like expedition partners that knew the land better than you because they were raised on it and now theyâre treated like they are lowly disposable service workers setting up heated tents or spas for wealthy hikers who have no business on the mountain like they are collecting your nasty trash off one of the holiest and most sacred mountains in the world like do yâall understand that we see sagarmatha or mount everest as a living deity on earth while the rest of the world sees her as a conquest?
some people like to get mad at disability benefits because they think its unfair people who dont work get a payout from the government while they have to work 50 hours at the human suffering factory every week. but if you tell them "yeah that sucks i think you should also get a universal allowance and not have to work 50 hours at the human suffering factory every week" thats apparently the wrong answer.
all i want for 2026 is that gigantic rancid AI bubble to finally burst in such a catastrophic way that the consequences will be so good and i'll never have to see another AI generated image ever again

My sister asking me things like âoh what are the new team namesâ and âwhen is the game youâre going to take me to next seasonâ like hahahaha haha good question no one knows. Not a soul out there knows a name or a schedule or whatâs going on and when and if thereâs gonna be conferences or if itâs still a 4 team playoffs or whoâs playing what. Weâre flying by the seat of our pants here in pdub land
