Alex’s election jokes are unwanted in Santa Monica.
Alex’s makes the friendly people of Venice Beach even more uncomfortable with some solid hurricane jokes.
Watch me do comedy in the wrong place at the wrong time!
And this is what I think of the debate.
“Community” writer Megan Ganz tells Alex about her upcoming “Law & Order” themed episode, whether broadcast networks are still the place to go for comedy, and what she wants to do next. Plus, Alex has a censorship problem.

“Community” writer Megan Ganz tells Alex about getting hired to “The Onion” at an early age and learning how to function in two of the world’s smartest writers’ rooms. She really gets going when the subject turns to her Catholic education and the Trayvon Martin shooting. Next week in part 2, look forward to even more talk about “Community.” Also this week, Alex explores adulthood by working for money and purchasing alcohol.

"Community" fans might want to listen to me interview Megan Ganz, who wrote the bottle, documentary, and (upcoming) Law & Order episodes. There will be even more about "Community" next week in part 2.
Comedian Danny Lobell gives Alex some great advice about what to do with his podcast, and, in many ways, his life. Danny also talks about his new album, “Some Kind of Comedian,” his appearance on “This American Life,” and shares stories from his radio days about George Carlin and Cheech & Chong. Plus, Alex finds a problem with every girl on OKCupid.
Listen to Danny on “This American Life” here (he’s in Act Two).

Dig it. Danny delves into the question we've encountered a lot over 19 episodes: If you want a creative career, should you do everything you enjoy or only do what you're best at?
I looked up "one who auditions" in the OneLook reverse dictionary and this is the list of words it gave me

Come to this, LA peoples!
Dizzy Peoples Comedy opened up the National College Comedy Festival last night with this video of some of the amazing professional talent that didn’t quite make it into this year’s lineup.
Yay a new sketch.
T.J. (Jagodowski) and Dave (Pasquesi) are going to be at Skidmore this weekend and I won't! Fuck! I'm stuck in sunny Los Angeles doing whatever I want all the time and hosting live podcasts like an idiot!
This is an episode of Dave's web series "Graveyard" that made me crack up.
If you don't know TJ and Dave, make it happen.
Improviser and graphic designer Glenn Boozan tells her old pals Alex and Chris about doing comedy for fun while pursuing a “real” career. Information about fonts abounds. Plus, Anthony and Alex don’t know how to react to Kanye West.

Why Adam Sandler's Candy Land movie could be great.
Common Conversations in Mating
Boy: Hi, my name is _____.
Girl: Nice to meet you. I am _____, the girlfriend of _____.
Boy: Thank you for getting to the point.
-
Boy: I like your _____.
Girl: Thank you. It was a gift from my boyfriend.
Boy: He has terrific taste.
Girl: I appreciate your double meaning. Please leave me alone.
-
Boy: I've never had the courage to tell you this until now, but I've always loved you.
Girl: Oh my god, I've always loved you, too. But I've been secretly dating your best friend, _____, to be closer to you because I thought you'd never have me.
Boy: But he knows how I feel! Break up with him. He's not my friend anymore.
Girl: It's not that easy. I'm pregnant with his child.
Boy: What a mess!
5 TV Comedy People Nominated for Academy Awards
Kristin Wiig, Cast Member on Saturday Night Live, nominated for best original screenplay for Bridesmaids
Melissa McCarthy, Molly on Mike and Molly, nominated for best supporting actress for Bridesmaids

Bret McKenzie, actor/writer on Flight of the Conchords, nominated for best original song, "Man or Muppet" from The Muppets

And three of them were actually for comedy. Plus, Woody Allen!
In the recent PBS documentary on Woody, he said he has track and field awards from when he was a kid that mean more to him than Oscars because he knows he deserved them.
Siri Named New CEO of RIM
iPhone voice recognition software Siri has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of Research in Motion Limited. When asked for comment, Siri said "Sorry, I didn't catch that."
Siri was a natural choice to run the struggling phone company, given her experience building Tiny Tower to a whopping 160 floors as well as the fact that she is herself a phone.
In a statement on her new position, Siri told investors, "Playing album 'White Magic' by ceo."
Siri is expected to give new direction to RIM. She's already directed the company to several restaurants, though the phone manufacturer decided to eat in after all.
Not everyone at RIM is satisfied with the new leader. An anonymous source said, "it's a conflict of interest for an Apple phone to be running Research in Motion. I was in favor of appointing a leader that doesn't currently work for another company, such as the robot from Rocky IV or Clippy the Paperclip."
Joe Wengert, the Academic Supervisor of the UCB LA training center, talks about his transition from teacher to comedian, writing for the Onion News Network, and finding an onstage persona. Plus, Alex and Anthony find Twitter tasteless.
Check out Joe’s hilarious (and tasteful) Twitter account.
