You never know what color pallette someone's Tumblr is till ppl are screenshotting posts and tags
do u like mine
Oh wow.
Some people on tumblr are reading ancient scrolls and you'd never know
when you go to a doctors office their favorite thing to do is tell you "okay check out at the front desk" when you're done. and the front desk tells you ummm you can just go! and you're like don't I have a copay? and they're like we don't know, we have to ask your insurance company first. and you're like well my insurance card says the copay is $30, can I just pay it right now while I'm standing in front of you? there's a card reader right there on the desk. and they're like nooo we have to send a representative on horseback during the next waning moon to meet with their claims adjusting associate director of benefits management and client services in the secret glade to negotiate. and you're like oh okay and go home. and you get twelve emails asking you to take a survey about your experience
AND THEN in eight months you start getting phone calls from unknown numbers and when you finally check your voicemail they're like Your Balance Is Past Due We're Going To Kill You (even though by this point you have forgotten that you ever went to the doctor). and so you go to your MyChart account and log in with your username and password and you have to reset your password for security reasons. and you get two emails that say Your Password Has Been Reset. Was This You? and you have to go find your phone and enter your two factor authentication code and then you have to select which location you visited and then you have to click through all the Reminder: Complete Your Health History Profile where they ask if you've had any new surgeries even though you definitely told the nurse about this at your visit and then you have to find the Pay Bills tab and your balance is $179.23 and you're like why is it so expensive I thought the copay was $30? and you download a PDF of the charges and find out that they charged a late fee of $15 a month even though that doesn't add up to $179.23 and you don't even remember being told you had any balance at any point and you could call a representative and ask about it but that would probably take at least half an hour and there's no way it would actually get rid of the charges. so you go pay it anyway and you have to go find a paper check to look up your bank account routing number because they'll charge you an extra 3% if you pay with a credit card and there's a fee of $2.75 for convenience also. and then you get three emails that say We've Received Your Payment! Thank You For Your Payment!
"hot girls do this" "hot girls do that" you bore me. ugly and cold women rise
Bro, we are cooked. The knight that dogs the prince's shadow like a dark and silent wraith just knelt to press his forehead to the prince's hand. Yeah, now he's uttering a prayer whose recipient is ostensibly God but in reality is the deified version of the prince that exists only in his mind. Aaand the prince just caressed his cheek to preemptively grant him absolution. I gotta... I gotta get out of here.
My fake son learned the alphabet today. I’m so proud of him, in theory.
I'm so sorry
you're not supposed to wander around appalachia at night bc you'll fall off a sheer drop that you couldn't see coming. this is also a major risk during the day. you really have to watch out for the sheer drops that you don't see coming due to the undergrowth. I suspect 100% of spooky missing persons cases in appalachia have the spooky explanation of "sheer drop disguised by undergrowth"
really cannot overstate how many utterly invisible ravines we got here and also how big the woods are. they can't find people because the woods? are big
in seriousness you can learn about the isolated Appalachian communities that were up here until quite recently by checking out the foxfire books. it is true that there were many isolated communities that remained pretty separate from mainstream American life for a longish time but most of the last ones were my grandpa's generation. and they were regular? can't overstate how regular they were. just rural and isolated with their own culture. do check out the foxfire museum if you want to learn more about them and their lives! those books are based on real interviews conducted by local high schoolers and college students of the old folks in their communities and they are very interesting windows into day to day rural life up in the mountains in the early to mid 20th century.
I absolutely 100% do not mean this in a like derogatory city slickers way; I myself grew up mostly in a city and I think that it is morally neutral to not have experience with The Outdoors. having said that, I have noticed that a lot of people who do not have regular interactions with "landscape that can kill you" do seem to have an internalized idea that "landscape that can kill you" is something that only happens to other people, or not very often, or only under extreme circumstances. which I think often leads them to assume that there must be something else out here that can kill you. but I fear I must inform the people who wanna believe scary Appalachian woods monsters are real that it's Landscape. inclusive of the beasts that dwell there such as the cougars and bears. its Landscape! (GRASPING EVERYONE ON THE SPOOKY APPALACHIAN TRAIL SUBREDDITS) IT'S LANDSCAPE THAT KILLS YOU! ITS ALWAYS LANDSCAPE! Old Man Hidden Ravine and his best friend Exposure!
the pokemon move Swift is fascinating to me. a pokemon shoots stars at you and you "I bet a cat could do that." that's normal. that's Normal Type. you got Scratch, Tackle, Headbutt, and of course, shooting rays of heat-seeking stars at people.
I always thought the star animation was some sort of abstraction of whatever the move was supposed to be, but no in Japanese it's called Speed Star which also translates to Speedster so they translated it to Swift. It was always stars and that was always normal
it's—you're lying to me. youhavealotofpeople LYING. tometomyface. That's—You're trying to mentally cause me harm,
hypothetical strawman I made up for this post: ugh the transgenders RUINED my favorite media properties, Guilty Gear Strive and The Amazing Digital Circus. i feel like all of my favorite MALE characters are suddenly being confirmed to be women. at least I can still play my other favorite game, Deltarune
I don't use reddit so this doesn't affect me 😌
Dunno why but I felt compelled to make this.

let's all have a fun time looking up new words when we encounter them to see what they mean before incorporating them into our vocabularies
Female one btw
okay this is really fascinating to me bc I feel like what they're each picking up from each other is "this woman fails to meet the standards of hetero womanhood" - none of them look like the lead of a romcom, none of them look like an instagram model. passing each other on the street they won't look that closely, but when scrutinizing the image, they pick up on these "failures" and interpret them as deliberately signaling disinterest in male attraction. the secret of course is that no one can meet these standards because they're fake; instagram models and movie actresses are staged and edited.
of course the creator probably got some "straight" responses and edited them out but it's interesting right? that wearing a leopard print top or being the "wrong" body shape pings whatever passes for a gaydar on straight people? that women in t-shirts without a full face of makeup are not performing enough femininity to be "real (straight) women"? the unprompted transvestigation is not unrelated from the distinction of who is a real straight woman.
The "we can always tell" crowd when the cis woman isnt white:
