As I mentioned previously, I am getting surgery for a debilitating health condition I've been dealing with 14 months (dragged out because of doctors' misdiagnoses) that's basically destroyed my quality of life.

Unfortunately, the surgery can't be done in Canada and requires a lot of expertise due to me being seen as a complex case (details in the GFM), so I have to go to Madrid for it which will cost €40,000 (approx $60,000 CAD, Canadian Dollars). I don't expect to raise all $60,000, but I am trying to raise half of it ($30,000). My family will be helping with the other half,

I don't really expect to get the $30,000, because it's a LOT of money, but I'm in a desperate situation and in pain every single day. If you could donate anything or even just boost and share to any platforms/communities you can, it would help me so much. <3

ok thank god there's so many fucking videos showing you how to do a ladder stitch like it's some kind of magic trick but here's the actual use case for it: closing a seam you can't reach the inside of. in all other cases, if you're fixing a ripped seam on pants, or on a tshirt, the ladder stitch is a messy, glorified running stitch.

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Great resources above, some of these are on my lists too! Made me realize I've never shared any of the things I've found neat or handy, so why not do a big post myself and add on? I too have a dragon hoard of these, but I'll stick to the art and silly ones and leave out the papercraft or game dev type stuff. Pureref. This is the tool I use to make reference boards for drawing. Just drag and drop from your browser, arrange as desired, and export. Simple and free to use. (though donations are appreciated if you use and enjoy the tool) Coolors. I imagine this one is pretty well known so probably doesn't need to be mentioned, but it's a great color palette generator. You can use it to brainstorm colors or put an existing color in to see what might work well with it. Also has a library of palettes you can open up and edit. Blender. Though this a full on program rather than a simple tool or resource, I would highly recommend giving it a shot if you're an artist. It's free and open source, you make simple models/environments to reference for perspective in scenes while drawing, use grease pencil to animate in 2D, open up existing 3D models and examine them in more detail or at different angles, etc. Yes, it's a program designed primarily for 3D artists, but it has plenty to offer for 2D art creation too imo.

canva has gotten more gen AI BS lately but still I use it to make layouts for printing stickers and collage materials.. YMV but it's a decent site for editing images.

In September of last year, we were contacted by a group of friends from Romania.

They had but a humble request: our blessing to host their own DashCon 2 in Bucharest. They came with a detailed plan, gave us a PowerPoint presentation on their credentials, proposal, scale, budget—everything. Honestly, they reminded us very strongly of ourselves, a small team with the drive to do something really cool.

After a lengthy discussion, our team decided to give them our blessing and license them to use the DashCon 2 name. DashCon 2: Romania will be held for one day on November 21st, 2026, in Bucharest. Tickets will drop in May of this year.
