“when men don’t control their rage”. But they do control their rage. They know very well that they won’t face any consequences when doing this to women, especially their wives. They know that nothing bad will happen to them. They use violence in a very controlled manner. If men truly would “lose control” regarding “their rage” they would beat up their boss, their father or would trash their playstations and cars. But they don’t. They are very controlled. By claiming that these men are losing control out of rage we are justifying part of their actions and giving part of the blame to the woman for causing his emotions. These are men that are in control, who are safe, protected and who know that beating up their wives will not have any negative consequences for them. And this is an issue everywhere in the world: Men knowing EXACTLY what to get away with and using “I lost control” as an excuse or explanation the entire world accepts. You can actually see this in every country, just with different stages of how publicly it’s acceptable. Most men in western countries would face no punishment for abusing their female partners under many circumstances. The issue is that men hate women and most people are surprisingly okay with it, if the circumstances are right.

Eric Kaufmann has written a very interesting, data-heavy essay that, among other things, compares rates at which people say they identify as LGBTQ+, the rates at which they actually have non-heterosexual partners (rather than just LARPing), and their political identity. The results are pretty fascinating.

First, data drawn from the General Social Survey (GSS), shows that, in 2008, about five percent of Americans under the age of 30 identified as LGBT and a similar number had a same-sex partnership in that year. By 2021, the proportion identifying as LGBT had increased 11 points to 16.3 percent but the share reporting same-sex relations had only risen four points, to 8.6 percent. LGBT identity had become twice as prevalent as LGBT behaviour.

Second, the number of women (but, oddly, not men) who identify as LGBT but don’t actually have same-sex relationships is vastly higher than those who are actually congruent between identity and action – but only among liberals.

Third, rates of mental illness among all LGBTQ+ people is higher than for those who aren’t – but vastly higher for these people who only take on LGBTQ+ as an identity.

'Pimp State' by Kat Banyard, first published 2016, is an amazing takedown of the six main myths that surround the sex trade

'Firebrand Feminism' by Breanne Fahs, first published 2018, interviews and looks into the lives of prominent Radical feminists Ti-Grace Atkinson, Kathie Sarachild, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and Dana Densmore, as well as discussing the basics and historic origins of radical feminism as a grass roots movement
