I’m 30 years old. When I was in secondary school from 2006-2013, the harassment from boys was bad enough and has caused lasting damage to my self esteem. This was at a time where most families had 1 computer, and most of us had flip phones - only the rich kids started getting iPhones around 2008. Boys could still access online porn but it was more difficult, but even then they still used it to enact violence against us. This behaviour has only gotten exponentially worse as now boys have iPads and smartphones with constant access to violent, misogynistic, racist porn that teaches them to hate women and girls. They’re basically becoming fucking domestic terrorists because of porn and social media but no it’s just “curious teenagers” and there could never possibly be any harm caused by unrelenting access to images of rape and sexual abuse at the click of a button.

The alternative to porn is not teens rushing into sex before they're ready, because porn is not sex education. Porn does not discuss with young people how to understand what their feelings are and what actually counts as preparedness for sex. It doesn't teach about safe sex, healthy relationships, orientation. If you want teenagers to be prepared for healthy sex and relationships, you give sex education. Porn is frequently defended with the claim that everyone knows it's not representative of how people have sex, so the least you could say is it's not suited for sex ed -- though of course we know that young people exposed to porn do treat it as real, and it's why there are rising rates of teenage boys strangling and beating up girls having sex for the first time.

Exposing a child to pornography is a tactic paedophiles use to groom and abuse children, specifically because it is not healthy for their sexual development. If you're so porn-brained you can't bear that in mind, you need intensive psychiatric treatment.

I don’t inherently hate my female body. I hate the fact that me being female means I’ve been treated as a second class citizen my whole life, have been subject to sexism and male violence, medical misogyny, harassment, and extreme expectations as to how I should look and act. I hate the fact that because I’m female, the most likely cause of injury or death is male violence. That I have a 1 in 4 chance of experiencing domestic abuse at the hands of a male partner, and I could be one of the 2 women a week killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales.

Having a penis doesn't make someone inherently evil (as that person was saying) and pretending like it is just takes accountability away from men who do these things. The penis is not the source of all evil, and I cannot imagine how someone could defend the idea it is without realizing how fucking ridiculous they sound.
