btw toji was never a deadbeat. i don’t know where that idea came from. kinda further proves the whole “jjk fans don’t read their own manga” but hey to each their own ig.

toji took care of megumi and tsumiki that entire time. tsumikis mother abandoned her after marrying toji and took that mfs little bit of money. toji only left for work. those 2 years of megumi forgetting who his father was and tsumiki taking care of megumi were because toji was dead. with toji dead nothing official ever happened with him being sold to the zenin clan. it was gonna but when they were getting ready to take megumi gojo FINALLY visited and told megumi “hey your sister won’t have a good life if you stay with the zenins”

megumi and tsumiki were never made aware toji died. he died on mission and shiu never involved himself with tojis family matters. dude literally disappeared after toji died. gojo on the other hand knew abt the 2 and didn’t do anything until megumi was like 7-8 years old. toji died when he was like 4-5. the neglect was bc they were kids with a mother that abandoned them and the only other person that knew of their whereabouts did nothing for 2 years✌️

i’m not hating on gojo dude was instructed to keep megumi from going to the zenins after his curse technique manifested which should’ve been 3 years from then. but he COULDVE done something more with free will and all. he was lucky they didn’t die from malnutrition before then. obviously gojo does wtv tf he wants so it makes no sense to why he’d intentionally let 2 kids starve and suffer for 2 years. the argument of “he wanted them to live normal lives while he built his name in the jujutsu world” also doesn’t really hold bc holy hell they were on the verge of literally having nothing. that’s not in any way normal lives for 2 under 15… it’s hard to believe the little bit of money toji did get and would leave for them ESPECIALLY when he planned on making it back from that mission, it’s insane to believe that the small amount could last 2 years. and knowing tsumikis mom took the money from the payout from tojis last ‘job’ she literally left them with scraps. sure gojo was 16 but holy shit he’s gojo satoru. you expect me to believe he couldn’t find a way around the whole “minors adopting minors”… i dunno man

sure toji gambled but i don’t think he was going to willing let the one part of the only person he ever cared about die because he wanted to gamble. he found a way to keep megumi and tsumiki perfectly healthy and okay even when he did gamble away every dollar. was it convenient not necessarily but i mean dude was highkey depressed and taking care of 2 kids on his own and extremely traumatized. you can’t exactly expect a whole lot from anyone that went through half the shit toji went through. he definitely was NOT the best but he was no where close to being the worst

you don’t even reach that point when he assaults nana k. bc you’re choosing to larp something. why the fuck should anyone listen to your opinion about the show? you’re taking one scene bc you only know of that singular scene in the anime. for all you know it’s taken out of context or it isn’t even takumi. you wouldn’t know because you’ve never watched the show. you’re taking other peoples words and opinions and running with that without fact checking. i’m not defending takumi but if it were to be something nobu had a nightmare of you wouldn’t know, because you’re choosing to not do that research or view it yourself.

*i am NOT a takumi defender i am merely giving an example of IF his whole story was misinterpreted and that misinformation spread. it always spreads so quickly. i literally just wanted to give an example. i am NOT a takumi defender i have said this a bunch of times. even if it seems like im defending him i do truly hate his character but i also believe he’s so extremely well written that my hate is a genuine hate while being able to understand where he came from and why he is the way he is. i believe he’s deserved hell but he is extremely uncannily similar to men in the real world. i enjoy how well written he is and how much of him i can view in the men ive had the misfortune of knowing. i don’t enjoy his actions but i can appreciate an extremely accurate portrayal of how horrible people can truly be. i fear i must constantly reiterate this so im never mistaken to be defending him.*

larping isn’t the end of the world but when you go into spaces like nana or berserk or something that carries actual significance in the real world you are doing damage. “it’s just an anime how can it really have an affect on anyone’s life.” nana alone was based on shit ai yazawa went thru or seen those around her go thru. it has an extremely uncanny connection to the real world. a lot of women are in positions like nana k or nana o. being able to see that in something you watch can help people get thru what they’re going thru whether it’s helping solidify opinions on things they relate or actually make choices it does affect a lot of things. being able to watch nana and see that you can’t always trust everyone and you can’t jump to conclusions and blame everyone else it can help prevent people from making similar mistakes or learn from the similar mistakes they’ve already made.

larping and everyone’s cases of fomo and intentionally being a poser just makes shit weird in spaces you want to be in. obviously you’re gonna have issues amongst your community but like holy hell it’s not the same as being around larps.

All that ranting when you don't even understand the basic facts of the manga. Kaname and Yuki do not share the 'same biological parents'. When Rido awoke Kaname, the baby (Yuki's real brother) was killed in the process. Then Kaname turned his own body into a baby's. He did not 'possess' the other body, he regressed *himself* into a baby.

even if he doesn’t possess the sons body they share the same genetics. you cannot be an ancestor of anyone without sharing similar genetics. and from what we know about the kuran blood line it’s so filled of incest that the genetics barely change after 10,000 years. for 1, 2 i’ve stated it’s been years since i’ve read the manga, my memory is not the best and i was a child reading it. should i read it again definitely i can’t find my mangas tho so im not going to be able to go back and fact check everything the way id like. it’s how i personally interpreted it.

i thought kaname was living the same way rido was through shiki and the little boy. i was wrong my bad it’s been almost 10 years. either way they were raised as siblings they do share extremely similar genetics. and because of juri and harukas relationship yuki specifically is under the impression that marrying your sibling is okay and kaname being mostly aware of his previous life does nothing to stop that and agrees that they should be married.

i feel like the hate on jason todd is the most undeserving hate. “him being brought back to life ruined the whole point of his death.” 1 you bitches in the 80s paid to kill him bc it was ‘too soon to move on from dick’ and 2 jason was brought back against his will. i fear everyone forgets this. main universe it’s talia that takes his body to the lazarus pit. the most popular version of red hood IS jason being brought back against his will. 3 jason got the robin identity forced on him. he needed bruce he didn’t need batman. he needed a present parent. he went to find his mom in an attempt to prove he wasn’t a failure and then died.

a lot of the hate jason todd gets is hate that shouldn’t even be directed at him. he didn’t have a say in how his life started and ended. he was traumatized and brought back to see tim getting treated differently than he got treated. he seen joker still attacking the people of gotham. he experienced the drug trade in gotham first hand and his attempt to control it classified him as a villain.

i love batman. i do not believe he should ever break his no kill rule. BUT batman is focused on rehabilitation. in all honesty bruce experienced less trauma than jason did. yes he seen his parents get killed but he had alfred. jason was alone after his ‘mother’ died he had to be able to take care of himself he had to grow up so quickly. he experienced the worst part of gotham. his parents were addicts that died to it. jason as red hood not focusing on rehabilitation shows that his upbringing affected his ways as redhood. joker affected his sense of morality as well.

i don’t blame bruce because he is also extremely traumatized and it is very obvious he pushes his needs to the side but as he needed dick to be robin, he needed jason to be the son of bruce wayne. he lost it all because he didn’t understand what he needed at the right time.

is the red hood identity constantly lost in translation? YES. does it make red hood seemingly uninteresting and the worst story to come from the batfam? yes… is it jason todd’s fault? NO. the same way directors cannot capture both sides of batman, writers cannot write the best version of red hood. i think he gets really screwed over because he was written intentionally to stay dead and someone decided to bring him back. it’s hard to ignore when a lot of people like that specific version but he’s easy to mess up. and he is consistently fucked over. there are a very few amount stories that capture the best possible version of jason other than that he’s some loser that is written k. as a way to say “here’s your crumbs be grateful he’s still being written by anyone” i love jason but sometimes i think he’s better off not being written past robin.

on a better note i finally finished arkham knight to 240%. 65 hours of straight BULLSHIT later and ive been celebrating it like its my biggest achievement. i cannot express how much more hate i’ve developed for the riddler. i hate that stupid son of a bitch so much like UGH.

i put more time and energy into this fucking game than i’ve done for probably anything🥹🥹🥹 it’s finally over. (i am never touching arkham city again. arkham asylum is pushing my buttons and arkham origins is killing me every time i try to defeat deathstroke.)

honestly tho, knight is definitely the easiest game of the 4. don’t crucify me but its not on the same level of difficulty as city origins or even asylum. it’s good i love it i wouldn’t have spent 65 hours playing through if i hated it but i genuinely never wish to hear nigmas voice ever again. i hate that bitch i hate him so much. i might fucking kms. his “hi diddle diddle” is genuinely something i hear in my knightmares i thought the asylum toll was bad after “officially” playing the game (actually knowing what i was doing and not js beating up inmates at the age of like 6) nigma gen haunts me.

yukis love and acceptance for vampires is proof alone that kaname kuran GROOMED her. she was 5 years old. her very first memory is being attacked by a vampire. i CAN assure you if it was anyone else that happened to be there. yuki would have had the same mindset as zero. her trauma would’ve never turned into love or acceptance. the only reason it does is because of kaname. view that how ever you must to make yourself feel better but the end result is, in a real situation, any person that experiences something that traumatic at 5 years old with no prior memory to anything else, they are NOT going to love, be attracted to or intentionally make themselves be around the thing that traumatized them. UNLESS they were forced or groomed into believing that whatever attacked them wasn’t that bad.

you can see this in real life. in almost every instance of trauma the victim will try to prevent themselves from ever experiencing it again. just because you can make peace with trauma does not mean you will love or accept it from anyone else again, unless during your most vulnerable moments someone is telling you to accept or be okay with what happened to you because ‘not everyone does this when they’re like me’

i am not trying to diminish your life experience i don’t know you personally but i can tell you that accepting something that almost killed you is not normal especially not 10 years after it happened. most people that are victims to anything will either block it out as to not relive the situation or never accept it. i say this knowing what it’s like personally. you cannot magically be okay with something that soon after it happened unless you go to therapy and actively try to work through your trauma or someone groomed you into believing it was okay or was a one time thing.

no one hates yuki cross or yuki kuran. no one is coping the end of vampire knight by not accepting that yuki stays with kaname long after zero dies. i am saying kaname kuran is a creep and kaien cross failed yuki by allowing kaname to stay around her and let her believe vampires weren’t all bad. and that people — like yourself because again this is directed — need to understand that these relationships were much deeper and were so much more complex than a lot of you guys can accept. i will say i can understand a lot of what kaname did and why but it does not erase the FACT that it was very much selfish and for his personal gain rather than for yukis safety. i can understand the harm it could have caused but if yuki was never groomed to believe that vampires weren’t all bad and out to eat her she would have never accept the life thrown at her and she would very much be able to live a normal human life. if she was able to have that luxury she would have never accepted zero or kaname which would have been perfectly reasonable because she was a traumatized child that never properly worked through her trauma.

if yuki was left to think for herself — which she was not because she was 5 and living with a vampire loving hunter — she would’ve adopted the same mindset as zero and their relationship would have definitely developed into a sibling relationship. i understand she said she seen zero as a little brother but that was not because of how he acted it was because she was caring for him physically when he would try and rip the skin off of his neck. she seen him as helpless until the first page/episode of the manga/anime. older siblings tend to take care of the kids physically not emotionally. they never had a REAL brother sister bond because of that. the love they had was so out of wack that it didn’t make sense for either of them but it was there and unlike kanames was not forced.

this is my personal opinion. i don’t think yuki should’ve gotten with either of them. she really needed to work on herself. she KNEW her relationship and ‘love’ for kaname was disgusting and again said it was ‘something only beasts would do’ she knew the incest was wrong. kaname saying ‘yeah we’re beasts in human form’ WAS ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS BE WEIRD and again proved that whatever kaname said was like words from a god something that she could not go against.

my personal opinion is that yuki was manipulated and groomed. she deserved better and never got that. she was failed by the people that were supposed to protect her because they wanted vampires to be comfortable while vampires seen humans as something below them and intentionally created the whole level e shit knowing full well they’d only go after humans. the highest most important vampires were all extremely selfish and kaien cross was a fucking idiot to believe he could be a bridge between humans and vampires. the killing went both ways but nothing was ever going to change anything about humans, vampires or vampire hunters. they were 3 different types of creatures put on one place expected to not kill eachother when that was all they ever wanted. whether it was for safety or anything else it was a stupid idea that they could ever “make amends and get over it” she should’ve had the chance at a safe life and was never given that because of rido and kaname.

again zero was so distant with yuki that even IF yuki wanted to see him as her brother it would not have made sense to either of them. she uses brother in place of love BECAUSE she was groomed into believing kaname kuran was the only man she could ever love. she was always in love with zero but because kaname kuran manipulated her for as long as she could possibly remember her ROMANTIC love for zero was twisted into being ‘platonic sibling’ love. zero was very clear he was NOT the son of kaien cross and he’d never accept kaien as anything other than a legal guardian. legal guardian ≠ parent big difference.

zero was disgusted with kaname not only because he was a vampire but because he seen through kanames intentions of keeping yuki close but far enough away. he knew there was something more but he didn’t know what until it was too late.

zero’s manipulation was to prevent yuki from realizing her love for him was never platonic. he knew her love was romantic and he knew he was in love with her. he was also aware that if their life stayed the way they both intended it would make it extremely difficult for them to develop a proper relationship. yuki was very sympathetic towards vampires, while down to his core, zero was always bred to be a vampire hunter. he was always going to go against yuki because his bloodline and because of his hate for shizuka and the vampire that took out yagaris eye. a rift like that in a romantic relationship would have ended badly. zero went along with kaname BECAUSE kaname held everything in his hands. as quickly as he could give yuki up he could easily take her away from zero forever.

kaname on the other hand was fully aware of who yuki was from her birth. the kuran bloodline is the most “pure” but is insanely inbred. because juri and haruka kept kaname he was able to get approval of AN infant’s marriage. yuki was still a baby when kaname said she was set to be his wife. then rido did what he did and juri sealed yukis memories. for 11-12 full years kaname groomed yuki. he manipulated her and erased her memories constantly when it didn’t benefit him. he used her ‘love’ against her to keep her close.

you don’t even have to read the manga to see that yuki cross was developing something against kaname. when she started realizing he was using zero for his personal gain she started to hate him and grow more distant. BUT she was again groomed by him as a child and he was able to control her. when she reverts back into a vampire the memories of juri and haruka PROMISING her to kaname. she was under the impression that it was what she HAD to do. she had no choice in the matter. knowing full well their relationship was wrong and disgusting, she expressed it was something “only monsters would do” yuki felt like she had no choice in her relationships. it took her centuries to begin to think for herself and all of it happened after zero died.

say what you want. kaname kuran is disgusting his relationship and control over yuki was disgusting and their relationship was not genuine. she developed a type of stockholm syndrome with kaname. yuki would’ve been better off alone because zero was not perfect but he was not as bad as kaname. their relationship was very very deep and had more than just “siblings or dating” because that doesn’t scratch the surface of what their relationship was because it had nothing to do with it.

hachi and yukari are slandered for being “birds”. yukari does not live for herself prior to meeting george. it takes time from being a doll for your mother and listening to everything your mother wants from you to leaving and getting with a guy. she goes back and does what SHE wants after realizing she can’t depend on george. her choice to stay while george left was pretty telling of her personal growth. if she was a bird she would’ve followed after him. there’s a difference between being a bird and being a teen girl in love.

hachi is 20 not understanding what love should look and feel like because the first time she was “inlove” it was with a 29 year old married man when she was 17. her perception of love is ruined by the time she gets with shoji. while refusing to accept responsibility oh her relationship between takumi and nobu. i am NOT defending takumi but hachi did not communicate that ‘end of their relationship’ BECAUSE she didn’t want to accept responsibility. she wanted takumi to carry the blame bc she knew it would’ve been believable that he was like that. he wasn’t liked by anyone in blast and trapnest knew how fucked up he was.

her marrying him was a choice she made. she is 20 years old she MADE that choice and refused to explain why she would. hachi and nana komatsu were 2 different personas for a VERY long time. she refused to tell nana o anything because it would ruin her ‘hachiko’ image therefore making takumi seem worse than he was.

i know what takumi did i am not defending him, i would never defend what he did i personally believe he deserves hell for it. but he did NOT give hachi an ultimatum. he gave her open choices either they get married and live a “happy life” WHICH THEY BOTH WANTED OKAY hachi wanted someone to take care of her financially while she got to be a sahw and takumi always wanted someone that would depend on him. their relationship was MUTUALLY beneficial. OR she could continue with her life with blast and nobu while takumi was only financially responsible for his child.

i don’t know if you have 2 parents but if you are like myself and grew up with only 1 guardian. takumi was NOT unreasonable for saying he would only take care of ren jr. he did not owe financial responsibility to nana. i know that’s super fucking disappointing to hear, yes he owed her reparations for assaulting her. but ren jr was not a child of assault. that was decision of 2 GROWN ass adults that decided to have unprotected sex. he did not owe it to her to take care of HER for 18 years financially if she chose to be with nobu. he would only owe it to his child. it was beneficial to the both of them to get married. her refusal to say anything to nana o was NOT manipulation or him FORCING anything.

ren jr would not suffer financially if she stayed with nobu BUT nana would because she was broke and could not keep a job. how nana chose to live was not anyone else’s fault. nobu was also broke because he refused to take on what his family wanted. nana got the life she dreamed of by marrying takumi. ONTOP of that she got to be herself. nana was not innocent by far but when she was with takumi she was herself. i’m sorry i know that’s hard to take in but she was. they accepted eachother. as horrible as takumi was she accepted him. takumi accepted NANA he didn’t care about ‘hachi’ because that was just a version of herself.

nobu getting with asami later does show that he would have accepted nana for who she was but he’s captain save a ho. he looked at nana for months as a perfect doll that couldn’t do anything wrong. his question of “you did leave him right?” when she’s crying abt her pregnancy, was the reaction she feared he’d have abt who she was.

kaname stans are the MOST insufferable bitches ever. just cuz you’re okay with incest doesn’t mean everyone else is. there’s no argument against that, you cannot win as a kaname stan BECAUSE that’s the whole story. “oh well zero isn’t better” zero doesn’t manipulate yuki to get what he wants. “yeah well he pushes her away and duh duh duh” zero was traumatized at the age of 12 seeing his parents die infront of him and seeing his brother chose the person that killed his parents. for 5 years he’s under the impression that his brother is dead because they haven’t seen eachother since the kiryu family massacre. THEN he’s taken in by kaien cross BECAUSE he knows full well everything bound to happen with zero. he’s well informed of the life zero is going to live as a vampire AND as a vampire hunter. kaien wants to be a father towards yuki and zero. yuki barely accepts it because she’s lost trying to figure herself out for YEARS. zero does NOT accept it because he had a family he wasn’t young enough to move on and forget his family. he knew no one was going to take the place of his parents. no one did and the closest thing zero had to a father was yagari. yk the guy that was around since the twins were born. the guy that helped them train to be vampire hunters, the guy that lost an eye protecting zero. kaien cared for zero and yuki physically but he was also in charge of a school the whole time. they were left alone more often than not. they were together and protected eachother but zero was ALWAYS extremely distant. yukis first complaint is how distant zero is. he never lets her close enough for them to feel like anything other than a friend. zero is still trying to go through the trauma of losing the most important people in his life when vampires—the things that took his family away and almost killed him MULTIPLE times— are on school grounds. they start as students at the academy when zero is like 15-16 before he starts falling to a level-e. zero NEVER ever gets a chance to be around yuki and act like adopted siblings because of everything. after the vampires are on campus zero slowly starts his fall to a level-e putting him in excruciating pain. he’s turned into the one thing he was BORN to kill. considering the hunters mostly take out level-e vampires zero is next. at his young age he quickly becomes protective over yuki BECAUSE she’s often around vampires. zero knows the painful traumatizing experiences that come with vampires and as a way to protect her he tries to keep her away from them. so everything on top of everything that he goes thru in his early years, he starts to hate himself when the transition begins. from someone that was already closed off and distant that distance only grows between him and yuki. even with that distance he attempts to help her as best as he can. dude does NOT want to get close to anyone now because he knows the violent nature of former human vampires. he knows what’s to come and what he is capable of. zero has feelings for yuki very very early in their relationship because she takes care of him but that doesn’t stop him from putting up that wall and pushing her away when she gets too close. he’s well aware of her feelings for kaname aswell. the older they get the more they try to reject and ignore how they feel about eachother because by the time yuki is 15-16 she loves both zero and kaname. zero does everything in his power to protect and care for yuki while not letting his feelings get in the way. it works for a long time he’s able to make yuki believe he only drank her blood because it helped him. she’s unaware for a while of what his feelings are. literally up until she’s regained her memories from her childhood she just thinks that zeros never gonna change and that it was always how he made it out to be. it takes her vampire awakening to make her understand it was ALWAYS more than just protecting her.

the relationship between yuki and zero is extremely delicate and complicated but to sit there and say “well they’re adopted so it’s basically as bad as yuki and kaname” is just a blatant misunderstanding of everything. you can live in close proximity to anyone and never see them as family. it becomes difficult to see someone as family when they act the way zero does. when it comes to legality, yuki and zero are NOT siblings. kaien is legally yukis father while legally being zero’s guardian. guardian and parent is NOT the same thing. it’s a similar role yes and there isn’t a lot distinguishing them but the acceptance of that guardian as a parent. because zero never accepted kaiens parental role, zero and yuki don’t have a pseudo-incest relationship. due to zero’s traumatic ass childhood he NEVER EVER seen yuki as a sister. she was always a friend in his head it was a friendship-lover relationship. they literally spend at the max 3-4 years together before she runs off with kaname. it was NEVER a sibling love EVER. they’re drawn looking younger but zero is 13 when his family is killed. story starts when he’s 16-17. if you yourself can consider someone a sibling that early if they act like zero that’s a you thing. ON THE OTHER HAND you get kaname. he’s 10,000 years old and when he’s found. he’s a literal ancestor of yuki and her parents. he is one of the very FIRST pure blood vampires ever. he’s one of the first and founders of the kuran bloodline. he goes into a very long sleep (10,000 years) and is awoken by his descendants juri and haruka yk yukis parents. the kuran family is the most incest filled families of the 7 pure blood families. rido is probably the first of the kurans to actually develop a relationship with another pure blood family. this is AFTER his obsession with his sister juri is forced to ‘end’ because she mates with her other brother haruka. rido chooses shizuka but never marries her. he has a kid with an aristocrat vampire and yeah that happens. i ain’t explaining. anyways juri and haruka have a son that they name after their ancestor kaname, after they get married. when rido finds out he takes that baby and uses his blood to resurrect a young looking 10,000 year old ancestor the original kaname kuran. with everything kanames body isn’t complete so to keep her son alive basically, the body is kind of reset into a baby. she takes care of kaname as if he were her son. again he is NOT the son of juri and haruka their son is dead. but she does the same thing she did with yuki, and seals away kanames memories of the last 10,000 years. unlike yukis memory seal or wtv, kanames is much much weaker. by the time yuki is born he’s starting to gain back his memories. and because rido is a fucking freak, juri tries to protect yuki by making her existence unknown to everyone. and the story goes from there if rido finding out and trying to take yuki and yeah. that’s that. so obviously by the time of the first episode kaname is almost completely aware of his relationship to yuki. he knows he’s one of the first of the kuran bloodline, he knows what juri and haruka did and that he was there just so they can feel like their son didn’t die. and he knows yuki was never aware of his actual relationship to her. he leaves her to kaien because he was friends with kaien when he was still a hunter. he knows what kaien is capable of doing as well as his wants. and for the years following kaname proceeds to in a way groom yuki back into her vampire self for years. because he’s insane. this comes with a lot of manipulation and ‘shielding’ when he was only meant to protect her from ridos weird ass.

the main issue i have with kanames story is that he knows everything like he knows everything about yuki and keeps it from her. yuki and zero grow together. their manipulation is very very different. one uses his manipulation to get what he wants from yuki while the other manipulates himself and her into pushing them away from eachother. zero really does protect yuki. okay yeah yuki should’ve had that choice but her story literally would not make sense or allow that to happen. yeah it’s wrong yes i hate it but i’d truly rather be with someone that doesn’t manipulate me with an ulterior motive. which was exactly what kaname did. he did it for his own benefit. zero wanted to fucking die for years and did manipulate yuki so that when he did die she would be able to move on with her life. at the end of the story that’s exactly what the fuck happens. zero dies for her and she lives 1000 years before resurrecting kaname and dying for him. zero worries about her fully her well being her future like everything and kaname is selfish. it’s for his personal gain and he disguises it as “for yuki” when it’s not for her. could the story have been done without incest yes obviously but it came out in 2008. i don’t know if you know anything about vampires in 08 but the story would’ve seemed like a copy of twilight. i mean you read/watch twilight and it is almost exactly alike minus the incest. vampire knight is almost exactly like twilight but has more reason backing why one of the love interest makes sense and is better than the other. so when it comes down to it.

why are people genuinely surprised that the joker is genuinely insane and does some of the most evil vile shit known to man. he is NOT a love interest of batman the way the lego batman writes him a purely a comedic relief version of the joker. was the jason todd as a whole just like a normal thing that you assumed “oh that was the worst of it and it wasn’t even that bad” bro the reaction jason had to seeing joker still alive after all that time was and will always be normal. “why doesn’t batman go against his stupid rule to kill” because he would be exactly like the joker if he did that. hate the snyderverse all you want we see that version of batman who is okay with killing. i dislike the snyderverse as much as the next person over but he could’ve used his batman as one of the most perfect representations of what would gen happen to gotham and everyone if he ever killed joker. do i know why batfleck was that insane? kinda. do i get it? not really.

joker reflects what batman COULD be and what he has the ability to do if he lost his humanity. joker dying at the hands of the bat would lead to the bat being as bad if not worse than him. yes it would start out with primarily villains but if the bat ever reached that point what is to stop him from doing it to the civilians. who is to stop him. considering he has a contingency plan for every hero around him there’s a low chance anyone could stop him. “he’s just a regular guy” joker himself has admitted that there’s nothing normal about batman. for other hero’s to have a genuine fear of what batman could be it should show you that there’s a lot more to the mask.

whether or not you enjoy the injustice timeline or snyderverse they have relatively accurate depictions of how terrifying the joker truly is. he gets watered down leaving the assumption that “he’s just batman’s boyfriend” no bro. no one can gen be that obsessed with shipping characters that they actively forget how horrifying these characters are. he isn’t sweet or soft or a non threat he IS evil and horrifying. jason todd especially has every right to hate batman after EVERYTHING the joker did to him and seeing his adopted father do absolutely nothing to him. but batman has every reason to not do anything. you watch death in the family and batman openly says “it would be too easy to do it.” he thought about it for years following jason’s death. but if he fell past that line what would ever stop batman from becoming exactly like the joker.

joker gets watered down so so much that people genuinely believe he is not that bad. and is only there for comedic purposes. the joker is a horrifying character and one truly deserving of death. batman’s mercy for his life shows how strong batman really is. when it comes down to it batman is the only person to ever stand the mental torture that joker puts people through. injustice superman gets to a point where he HAS to kill the joker. he sees what batman goes thru because he experiences it for himself and kills the joker. if someone like superman can break nothing but pure willpower is the reason batman hasn’t.

just bc it’s not main universe canon does NOT mean it never happened✌️ barbra gordon is continuously used as a li to almost every batboy atleast once. i made this statement over a year ago and used her as an example BUT the focus was primarily on the fact that wonder woman isn’t even regarded by A LOT of people as part of the big 3 of dc or main 4 super hero’s, because she gets written in as a love interest for both batman and superman. yes its not main story canon for either character to be love interests that does NOT mean they haven’t been represented like that in so many comics and show adaptations.

my statement a year ago wasn’t fully thought through or explained properly because i was like 16 maybe 17 running off of 3 hours of sleep and irritation. babs specifically has had been shown 3 times having had some type of romantic relationship with bruce. yes one was written in by a director for dramatic purposes to make the killing joke more personal for batman. but the 2 other times are in batman beyond and if you don’t consider any part of batman beyond apart of anything sure my argument falls down and means nothing. either way she has a relationship with bruce after dick leaves for bludhaven. it’s weird is it main story canon no but i do consider batman beyond a very i don’t know important story to bruce wayne and the batman identity as a whole. the next is in batman beyond 2.0 where she DOES have a sexual relationship with bruce resulting in pregnancy. i don’t know what happened after BECAUSE i personally gave up after seeing that and did not attempt to finish the comic i will never attempt to finish the comic either. quite frankly i don’t care to read something that weird, because the relationship IS that weird.

the whole of my argument made over a year ago wasn’t that female characters in dc are primarily written as love interests for the males. i used babs and wonder woman as an example because of how they’re written. wonder woman specifically is written as this “i want to learn about the normal human woman experience bc there’s no men on my island” and has a weird love triangle with batman and superman. it’s either a love triangle or she has a relationship with one of them in that comic storyline. it switches between the 2 and if you’re ‘lucky’ you’ll get her also having a story with steve trevor.

just because it’s not the main canon universe doesn’t erase the fact that it’s been written and that has been my argument ever since. idk why ppl were taking it personally when i wrote it and trying to justify it because it’s a bunch of different alternate universes. it’s still weird. whether it’s once like the babsxjason or having on and off relationships with luke in dc bombshell or the story where she’s on a break with dick and gets with luke like holy moly bro. the arkhamverse is one of the biggest most known/played and shes canonically married to tim. and she has 5 MAYBE 6 times written as a love interest for dick. so if you cannot see my issue here i don’t know what to tell you. i don’t know how you can sit there and ignore it “oh well it’s not canon in the main universe” like yeah i know im saying they HAVE good enough storylines without being simply love interests all the time. i love batgirl she can have so many different stories before the need for a male love interest becomes ‘important’ but if writers cannot write a woman without her simply being a love interest LIKE HELLO.

honestly i wish i could say it’s a non issue but when characters like wonder woman are being ruined so horribly it is an issue. comics specifically during the time of when dc and marvel originally rose it was during the great depression and during world war 2 they were made to give a sense of hope to those that were surviving and made to boost the morale during the war. so it is an issue seeing how horribly the characters are being depicted and destroyed nowadays.

it’s actually disgusting seeing how badly they’ve fucked characters like wonder woman. in 1941 when she was originally created and released she was made to be a symbol of female empowerment equality and justice showing that women can be powerful and compassionate at the same fucking time. she was being released during WW2 when that view was very important bc of how america was during the war. now if you look at her character she is not the same. yes she has the same values sort of bc storylines like Injustice and a lot of others have fucked up her character so horribly. it’s made a lot of dc fans dislike her rightfully so. because personally for me i feel to hate her bc of the injustice story (i was like 7-10 when i first played the game) that was my first real introduction to her character which was horrible bc it made me dislike her but i started watching the wonder woman with lynda carter and it was a completely different person. 2 games alone fucked up everything she stood for. wonder woman was always supposed to be strong and independent and injustice aswell as new comic writers have fucked that up and have done so much damage to her character.

another character is Barbra Gordon as Batgirl and Oracle. she was and still is my favorite character. i love the bat family more than anything but i genuinely fucking hate the writers that they have. in a lot of issues of comic they follow a weird storyline like Batman The Killing Joke where batgirl is shown to have a sexual relationship with her mentor Bruce Wayne which 1 is weird bc bruce has always been a middle aged man by the time he meets the younger but more older more known bats (dick, jason and barbra). her have any form of sexual anything is fucking disgusting and harms her character right there alone. but obviously that alone isn’t the only fucking issue.

this is sm of a weird trope and i only say this bc not only does she have a relationship with Bruce Wayne no these writers made her have a relationship with characters that are supposed to be seen as siblings. bc as we know everyone that works under batman grows and has a familial relationship with him and those with him. and unfortunately Babs doesn’t only have a weird sexual relationship with bruce no she has one with the majority of the batboys. she has a weird relationship which mostly always turn sexual with Dick Grayson (Nightwing), Jason Todd (Red Hood), Tim Drake (Red Robin), and Luke Fox (Batwing). considering the first 2 are canonically adopted in every issue by bruce 1 that’s weird as fuck it is. but 2 all four of those boys have an important and close relationship with eachother yes they aren’t related but the relationship they have makes them more like brothers than just coworkers. Babs having a relationship with all of them is weird. babs and jason didn’t need a relationship that came from bonding over what the joker did to them. as much as i love the arkham trilogy (games) specifically arkham knight there were alot of unnecessary scenes between them. i do understand the game i’ve played it multiple times but it rubs me the wrong way seeing how other people think of babs and jason. bc in this storyline specifically she never had a relationship with dick but she does get married to tim after. it’s js a weird situation and it sucks bc a lot of other comics stay following the killing joke storyline or other comic storylines and it is doing so much damage to her character and what she stood for. i honestly find it fucking disgusting.

i understand writers wanting to depict certain things that happen in real life and not every comic in dc is one set universe or timeline but they also are doing so much to these characters and it really sucks that it isn’t only one or 2 characters bc it is so many female characters like harley too who originally did start out doing her things bc of a man but she was supposed to grow into her own character and now she’s literally falling back but she’s not falling back to where she started bc it’s only getting worse and it sucks. and another issue is the fact that its not only female characters it’s also the important male characters. the new redhood series. he doesn’t need a sexual relationship with helena. it’s literally weird af

long story short which it wasn’t and i’m sorry for it these fuck ass new writers need to stop basing female characters specifically around a man bc it’s doing worse for the character and ruining the image they were originally made to have and portray. and they need to stop basing every comic around a romantic or sexual relationship. because if you are being completely honest if the storyline alone isn’t good or interesting alone without something sexual or romantic happening between the 2 leads maybe just maybe it isn’t a good story or it isn’t a developed enough to be made into a comic. i’m not anywhere close to saying romance in comics are bad that’s NOT what i’m saying im saying is that if that’s all you think a story thats always been about justice, doing the right thing, empowerment or anything of what the original comics were made to be you SHOULD NOT be ruining characters by your fantasies.

there is a reason fanfictions exist there is a reason head cannons exist there’s a reason for communities. bc personally i indulge in fanfics like i fucking love them but it’s only bc it 1 isn’t cannon and it can be made into whatever writers desire and want to see and 2 it’s isn’t canonically ruining characters that stood for sm more and ruining what they stood for.

seriously this is just my personal opinion i don’t wanna hear anything abt me being wrong for it. i have a very different life view compared to whoever is reading and also again it is just my personal opinion

anyways i honestly really find the nana fandom to be so fucking annoying. they actually piss me off so fucking much bc everyone automatically take the idea that “only yasu and shin are the only good males in the story” firstly it’s not true the only actual innocent character by any means is shin. he was a child with ABSOLUTELY ZERO amount of guidance by every person in his life.

nana is a reflection of the actual human society and experience. everyone in the world and in the manga/show is as problematic as the next. yes there is a sort of ‘lesser of two evils’ but that does not excuse any character or person from being horrible. being able to understand that a lot the characters actions specifically come from trauma responses or emotions and environmental factors. being a nana fan without having an open mind and understanding how and why the characters acts specifically a certain way 1 shows the type of person you are and 2 why the fuck would you actually get into something not being able to want or attempt to see each side. i swear you actually need to read the goddamn manga with an open view and understanding of society and how people are because it is literally just a fucking reflection of how people truly are EVERYONE EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER is problematic and has issues some are worse than others but that is not the point. they’re all problematic and picking and choosing who’s worse and who’s better is fucking insane

the only characters that seriously deserve any form of defenders are the children caught between the cross fire (shin ren jr and satsuki) other than them NO character NOT A SINGLE ONE including both nanas everyone in blast/trap nest and those they associate with is innocent they all have literal issues and don’t know how to properly handle their feelings/emotions and their issues. everyone in the series needs some form of help for what they went thru and put other people thru. but that’s just my take.

also relating to a character does not make you a bad person (unless youre relating to the actions like takumi/reira if ykwim) everyone has flaws im not judging anyone’s flaws

also trapnest is 1 canonically better in a lot of ways but like in my personal opinion they 100% have every reason to be as cocky as they are abt the band personally id actually really like in a serious manner would be a trapnest fan
