its december third and i just gotta ask all of you one question
this meme is only a year old and yet it still feels like its been half a decade since the last time ive seen this image
The time has come once again
people who complain about babies being in public places are so fucking annoying…like i’m not sure if y’all are aware but having a baby doesn’t mean you’re suddenly obligated to be shut inside the house with them until they’re old enough to walk and talk. i can’t believe i’m seeing grown ass adults on this website complain about people bringing their babies to public places like movie theaters or restaurants. maybe YOU should stay the fuck inside. hearing y’all bitch and complain about babies is 100x more annoying than like, hearing a baby cry in public because it’s hungry or tired or whatever. grow up and get over it

I love that in the ten years I've been on tumblr, tumblr users' attitude towards tumblr has come full circle, now we're back where we started at "tumblr is our beloved home, no other social media can compare, no other website has what we have, do not trust other websites, do not tell the outsiders about us", only this time we're like. Really exhausted and with a sense of irony about it.
you know what, we should organize a tumblr convention
Maybe he’s ordering a decaf because he has a heart condition, and you’re about to give him a heart attack and send him to the hospital.
Or maybe he’s just ordering a decaf.
Maybe she’s ordering sugar free because she’s diabetic, and you’re about to put her six feet under.
Or maybe she’s just ordering sugar free,
Maybe they’re ordering non-dairy because they’re intolerant, and you’re about to ruin their day. Maybe they’re allergic, and you’re about to sponsor an all black event in an open field.
Or maybe they’re just ordering non-dairy.
Maybe they ordered gluten free because they can’t process it, and you’re about to destroy their digestive tract.
Or maybe they’re just ordering gluten free.
Maybe they’re ordering this way just because they don’t want the food, for whatever reason.
But are you willing to bet their life on it?
Also, please remember that some people with sensitivities may get sick hours to days later. Just because they don’t have an immediate reaction doesn’t mean they are “exaggerating” or “lying”.
Whether illness or personal preference— just make their dang food the way they ask!!!
Who is this post for? Are food/coffeeshop employees regularly sneaking sugar and caffinated coffee out to their customers? Os this a thing thats happening?
A while back there was a post on an anaonymous cofessions about about a person who said whenever she sees a thin woman ordering a diet soda she just gives em a regular bc they dont “need to be dieting.”
Every coffee shop I have EVER worked in had at least one barista who would regularly change orders without the customer’s knowledge or permission, for reasons like
she doesn’t need to be dieting
Ugh, non dairy milk is so hard to steam, and drinking soy is a fad anyway
Life is short, eat the damn cheese bitch, it won’t kill you
I’d have to go open another bag of the gluten-free, and I don’t wanna walk all the way to the back room to go get it
At least once, I caught it maybe 3 seconds from disaster- someone with a life-threatening dairy allergy had ordered a soy latte. She told me at the register that it was a deadly allergy. I even wrote on the cup “ALLERGY- NO DAIRY”.
I caught the barista in question rolling her eyes and saying under her breath, “skinny bitches and their fake allergies, trying to get shit for free” (this particular coffee shop had a policy where a dairy allergy meant you didn’t pay the extra fee for non-dairy milk).
I saw the barista rinsing the dairy pitcher, put 2+2 together, and yelled out to the customer to stop her. She hadn’t started drinking yet, but she did lick the drips on the lid- she still needed her Epi-Pen and to go to the hospital.
Suffice to say that barista was fired on the spot… but there are many more people like that. Far too many.
Make the food/drinks people order, the way they fucking order them.
Even if she had just been trying to save the 50 cents…. so what?
Don’t bet people’s lives on your decisions.
Respect people’s basic bodily autonomy to decide what food they do or do not consume.
This is funnier if you DON'T turn on the sound
I really hope Youtube knows that whenever one of their surveys comes up before a video I just immediately click whatever the bottom answer is in order to get it out of the way as fast as possible. Enjoy the data
I intentionally choose the least correct answer
I’m going to start doing that as praxis
Why is this written like the pornhub logo?
So white men pay attention
a President makes a new law that anyone shorter than him gets executed but he accidentally makes it an amendment to the constitution so it applies to future presidents too, in the next elections theres a frenzy of people voting for the shortest president so they dont die and this is how they end up electing a 3 foot tall man named Pinwheel Patrick who goes on to become the most tyrannical dictator the world has ever seen
Image Description: tweet from proud socialist reads "The biggest lie in human history is that capitalism is good. Take a look around you. It is 100 degrees in the Arctic. 26 billionaires hoard half of the world's wealth. Entire species of animals are being wiped out. Capitalism is fucking evil. It's killing us and our planet too. End description.
(Don't forget that BIPOC communities are disproportionately effected by climate change. And if those 26 richest people in the world, only 2 aren't white. )

This. We're all effected by climate change, though. No need to bring identity politics into this. The environment is worth saving no matter who suffers more or less. It's not a competition, we're all in the same meatgrinder of capitalism.
BIPOC communities are disproportionately effected by climate change.
Indigenous people continuously have their treaties broken to have oil spilling pipelines run through their water sources.
And Black people are disproportionately living in poor communities due to redlining, and pollution producing factories and dumps are disproportionately placed in poor communities, causing issues like the shit Flint Michigan is facing.
BIPOC communities are disproportionately effected by climate change.
Here's an article from the American Lung Association that proves it.
The burden of air pollution is not evenly shared. Poorer people and some racial and ethnic groups are among those who often face higher expo

I agree. I agreed before, as well, if you will note. I am aware BIPOC suffer more from climate crisis. I simply believe that isn't very effective messaging, and I also oppose any framework which minimizes either the fact that this effects everyone on earth or the fact that capitalism, not identity struggles, is central to this crisis.
Minimizing the fact that this disproportionately effects BIPOC people minimizes their experiences.
Just because I'm effected by climate change (my migraines used to be at the point where 9d celebrate 3 months without a migraine, now they're nearly every week) doesn't mean my experiences are comparible to the Black communities like Flint that have gone years without clean drinking water.
Sure, we're all effected, but you've gotta point out who has it worse. Black people have been telling us for DECADES about what damage capitalism is causing, but no one cared until it effected white people.
-fae
You don't understand. I think that's bad messaging. It's a bad sell. Since I care about the climate, I care when people use bad messaging. I want them to stop. I do not, in fact, have to point anything out. If it's bad messaging, I don't want to say it, and I believe this is bad messaging. I don't disagree with your beliefs, I disagree with your tactics.
YOU don't understand.
The only reason pollution and capitalism has gone on this long is because no one cared about BIPOC people.
Just because white people are also effected doesn't mean I can't point out this is only a problem because no one cared and BIPOC people.
-fae
No one cared until recently because people were propagandized from birth. BIPOC weren't ignored, they were drowned out by the oil companies. I have not disagreed with you once about anything but tactics. Why do you keep inventing things to disagree with me about? Centering racial identity struggles is STILL bad messaging, by the way. In case you forgot what we were talking about.
Listen.
That's some of the most "All Lives Matter" shit I've ever seen.
If I'm on a hike, and my friends falls, and I'm like, "Ow, you broke your leg. That must hurt like a bitch." I don't want to hear some asshole behind us like "Well, we're all sore from walking."
Because, yeah. We're all sore from walking, and if you want to bitch about how much your legs hurt LATER, I'm sure everyone will understand, because you're allowed to feel your pain.
Just don't interrupt me trying to show my friend empathy to express it.
I got a whole fucking month to talk about how I, a disabled person, am victimized by capitalism. I actually talk about it a lot. I also talk about how I'm victimized by capitalism as an AFAB person a lot. I'm just trying to have one goddamn post where I'm like "Yeah, but Black people experience it so much worse" because this is first and foremost a Black Lives Matter blog.
Listen. If you want to bitch about how you twisted your ankle on the hike, go ahead. No one will disagree that it fucking sucks.
But don't interrupt me expressing concern over a DIFFERENT injured person.
Me saying "BIPOC people have it worse" Doesn't mean the experience of everyone else doesn't suck. It just means that we need to address the fact that capitalism is first and foremost, a product of white supremacy, and anyone that isn't white is going to experience the brunt of that impact.

worst day ever
me during the day: ah i'm so sleepy. i'm so fucking tired oh my god i can't wait to go to bed tonight.
me during the night: let's download the top 100 songs from 2010 and listen to them all while writing a novel and watching an entire season of something and maybe rearrange my room or read 2 books and complete my assignment which was due last week haha i'm so productive.
hate when people think I know stuff. I dont know anything, I just use Google. I Google simple words because they look like they're spelled wrong and I cant be sure. I Google how to boil eggs every time I do it. this is who I am.
I’m crying because when my dad was eighteen he was going to join the airforce and then the night before he had a dream that Jesus slapped him in the face with a gigantic fish and asked him what he was doing and he woke up and thought, “Jesus is right what am I doing?” And that’s why my dad did not join the military.
