I have had a number of bots or people I would rather not follow me, so let's do an introduction post!!

Hi, I'm ace, I do music, and I post about it sometimes. Music related brainworms or art mostly, but I may grace this blog with my guitar.

I'm in a few fandoms, and will tag appropriately (read; I'm too lazy to think of them all rn)

IMPORTANT:

If you are MAGA, right-wing, homophobic, transphobic, aphobic, biphobic or in any way a bigot, DNI. I do not tolerate hateful practices. I also do not tolerate these people stripping away human rights.

And again, this is an art blog, which means AI is not tolerated.

If I see any hateful (and I mean genuinely hateful, not just criticising) comments, that person will be blocked and reported. This is a catch-all, and I am not cherry-picking.

That already exists? No no no, not on Erid. Not in the Mary. In America. Jon is an English teacher in Grover Cleaveland Middle after getting his shit sorted. Martin is a librarian or coffee shop worker nearby (or both lmao)

Ryland gets along well with Jon, hasn't met Martin (yet)

Jon knows something is pulling this science teacher to space. And it's not his love of it (ryland has gone on many a rant about how he loves it, but doesn't love to be /in/ it). He figures it's that fear of being in it, and the Eye hasn't left completely.

Enter Stratt.

Jon won't listen to reason. He cannot let his new friend and coworker be dragged into something so much bigger than him. Ryland goes to study astrophage and doesn't come back. Jon has to be restrained so he doesn't go after Stratt himself.

Fast forward X years.

The probes return. The sun returns to full luminosity. The files leak. Jon already knew (lowercase k) Ryland didn't sign up to go, but the conformation hits him like a truck. The only person he could see himself in. Gone. Had their autonomy violated in a similar way.

Martin is fairing better, but not well.

He has a new regular. An ex-convict who is trying to teach himself proper botany. And Martin knows a thing or two, so they start to chat.

How is bloodymary gonna be a thing? I haven't thought that far ahead. Either while Ryland is on earth, or Simon goes into this so-called "convict realisation program" – the iron lung. In that instance, I can imagine he's given the task to study Erid up close. The planet, the system, the occupants.

Yeah that's all I've got. If anyone has inspiration from this, let me know please!! I'd loved to be tagged in anything to do with this au (should we give it a name? Somewhere the sun dims? That'll be the tag for now, but if anyone has an idea, again, lmk please!)

I want you guys to know that in my bloodymary teachers au, despite the lack of near death experiences and being alone in space, Grace, Rocky and Adrian are STILL equally weird and codependent.

Like Simon rocks up one day, having very little experience with friendship or relationship (because of reasons I will explain later) and witnesses the insane dynamic of this married couple who are deeply in love and their weird friend who just kind of is there and who they love a lot but don't have romantic/sexual feelings for. Grace who lived with Rocky for years prior to the marriage while Rocky and Adrian were long distance, and didn't move out until well into their marriage when he decided he wanted his own space. Like Rocky and Adrian didn't actually have a particularly strong desire for him to move out it just kind of happened, and even then he lives down the road and comes round all the time for games night and movie night. Grace who talks about Adrian with as much, if not more reverence than Rocky. Rocky who brings in a packed lunch for Grace from Adrian some days because they know grace is stupid and forgets to eat.

Like to the point where, before Simon meets/knows about Adrian, he assumes that Grace and Rocky have some kind of weird will-they-won't-they arrangement (which he's trying not to get too disappointed about) and figures that's why grace is content with being, quote-unquote, "single". Until he finds out that Rocky is married and so in love with Adrian that nothing could change that, and the three of them are actually just really fucking strange in a way that nobody can fully understand.

It's really just "this is my husband Rocky. and this is Rocky's weird codependent queerplatonic best friend/coworker/work husband Grace. They come as a package deal, and I love them very much"

stratt and grace and the rest of the phm science team running on 4 cumulative hours of sleep at an unscheduled conference. dimitri and lokken are trying to explain a new complication in the hail mary's fueling system and the resources necessary to iron it out but they keep getting interrupted by government officials butting in until grace (who doesn't even look up from his laptop and checked out of the conversation two days ago) snaps "we raise our hands to speak"

complete silence for like 3 seconds. the french prime minister sheepishly raises his hand and stratt smiles for the first time that week (grace buries his entire head behind his laptop screen for wont of a better option, like jumping straight into the sea)
