this “bon appetit” meme has turned into some sort of bizarre telephone game where each incarnation sounds more and more different than the original. in what way does “bon appetit” sound like “osteoporosis”
i don’t know but it’s cracking me up every time i even think about it
bon appetit -> bone apple teeth -> bone ??? ??? -> osteoporosis
this has layers, man
Oh, actually, one thing about Bohemian National Cemetery! Near the very beautiful crematorium is this statue---entitled, "The Mother" it features a woman cradling a baby in one arm, her other hand shielding the flame of a torch carried by a young man. (This is especially poignant given the fact that an inverted torch, symbolizing the flame of life extinguished, is a very common grave motif.)
However, between her face smeared with black, her wearied, slightly forbidding expression, and the uncertainty with which the boy is looking up at her......? I assumed this was meant to be Death, snuffing out the boy's torch and readying to carry him away with the soul of the sleeping child. And I do kind of like the idea of death as a woman with a round, careworn face, who is a little tired, and perhaps a little sorry, but will do her duty nonetheless.

I told my little nephew that I'd wave at his airplane when it flew over my house today, and he very calmly and politely explained that it wouldn't be possible to see me due to the limitations of human vision. I said he just had to squint real hard, and he took a deep breath and went into the toddler version of "see, what you're not understanding–"
I just find this cover cool.... thats all.

The new Odyssey adaptation has inevitably gotten people talking about a Muppet version of it, and they’re frequently suggesting Kermit as Odysseus, Miss Piggy as Penelope.
I’m sorry but that’s thinking way too small, hear me out:
We need to have Miss Piggy as Odysseus, and Kermit as Penelope.
Think about it… who’s the more fickle, prideful, warlike one in that relationship? Who is absolutely ready to go ham, at a moment’s notice?
It ain’t Kermit
Miss Piggy tied to the mast while Statler and Waldorf heckle her from the sea
But who is the single human cast member in this tale? Who gets to put in an Oscar-worthy performance alongside the Muppets and what role are they to play?
There’s no single human, everyone is a Muppet except for one scene. Circe, played by Janice, turns Odysseus’s crew into humans who still behave animalistic and are all played by Academy Award winning actors.

megatron has a headache
[ID: a two digital drawing comic on a gray background. The first panel is of Megatron slamming his head on a table and saying 'Starscream I'm going to kill you for this.' somewhere off panel Starscream shrieks 'I didn't do anything??!'
In the second panel a very tired looking Megatron is pointing at his head and talking to Optimus Prime. He is saying 'Listen closely Prime, this headache is killing me. You have to punch me here as hard as can-' Optimus, already sending his fist hurtling towards Megatron's face and interrupting his speech bubble, says a cheerful 'OKIE!' with happy closed eyes. End ID.]
