Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.

If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

I think Joan of Arc's fursona would be a dog called Joan of Bark, but my partner thinks it would be a phoenix, which seems insensitive to me, but neither of us are furries, so I guess we don't really get a say either way.

I promise I’m not trying to be pretentious here. Jeanne d’Arc’s last name is d’Arc.  An overly-literal translator insisted it stood for “of Arc”, and that’s why we know her as Joan of Arc.  At the time, she was more commonly known as “Jeanne la Pucelle”, meaning “Joan the Maiden” or “Joan the Virgin”.

anyways since her main attack strategy was “hit them until they stop moving” I think she’d be a gorilla.

Calling incest "taboo" when it's a literal form of abuse is not the wording I would use to defend its presence or people's interest in it on a site.

I use the word "taboo" because I only refer to "fiction", as in a taboo topic people write about in fiction. not real-life. fiction.

game of thrones has incest in it (so it is in a way taboo). and it is allowed to exist on a huge platform like hbo, because it's fiction and taboo fiction is NOT a crime.

lolita is taboo, but it's fiction, and it deserves to exist without being banned or censored.

non-con fics are taboo. because while it is vile and a crime in real life, just like incest, in fiction space where no one in real life is harmed, it is not a crime and it's legally allowed to exist and have a platform like ao3.

also no, I am not "defending the portrayal of taboo topics in fiction" even though I do love writing and reading about non-con. I am defending people's rights and freedom to create and consume whatever they want, however they want, including dark and taboo topics. as long as no one in real life is harmed.

thoughtcrimes are not real. and censorship is a fascist tool. period.
