Daughter of the Wild One, Season One, Chapter Ten: A Legacy in the Making
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary: The time had finally come. Today was the day Willow Park would show everyone that she was more than just Half-a-Witch. With the help of an enchanted seed and a little encouragement from her friends, she was going to prove that she really did know how to use her magic, she just needed to take a different path for it to flourish.
sometimes, all you need to get through the hardships is someone there to help you carry the weight
haven't drawn these two in a while so i sketched them out
wow this market sure is. at night. or something.
love him. my baby. son boy. inspired by a comment i got on chapter nine
thankfully, Luz's newly adopted siblings are there to guide her through the confusing Room of Shortcuts. it would be very epic and based if you went and read Chapter Nine of Daughter of the Wild One
production sketches i made to help with writing Chapter Nine of Daughter of the Wild One. which is out now. go read it. i'm very happy with how it turned out.
hey guys, i finally posted the first chapter of the Fear Stops None, Salvation Seeker rewrite. you should go read it. i’m pretty proud of it.
also here's amity from that wip the owl house project i was posting art for a while back, with luz for scale because i made amity a little short lol. i've had this finished for a little while, but life happened and i never got around to posting her. willow and gus are next when i get the motivation to do more art.
if you read the exposition dump i gave on the last post about the main three, then you'll know the group has basically been on the run for several years in this au. she hasn't had time to dye her hair like in canon, so it's reverted back to her natural hair color. she keeps cutting it short so it stays out of her way. she's wearing an old scout's uniform as well.
final post of my unfinished and unreleased art from over the last five years that i'm doing while i work on trying to get out of my art slump. this one is for everything that wasn't deltarune or undertale, because most of the art i didn't post was from those two games.
like the last two, oldest is last because i don't want to scare anyone off with my somewhat worse art from back in early 2021. more under the cut.
continuation of my last post, just uploading unfinished and unreleased art i've made over the last five years while i work on getting out of my slump. this one's all my deltarune stuff.
oldest is last, because i don't wanna scare people off with my old old art. also, this first one is something i did release, but i went back and gave it a background and never released that version. more beneath the cut.
hey tumblr, i keep not posting new art (still trying to get out of my slump, but i've been doing a lot of writing at least), so here's a bunch of unfinished and unreleased stuff i've drawn over the last four-to-five years.
i'm gonna do this in multiple posts. this one is all the undertale stuff. oldest is towards the end because i don't want to scare people off with my much older art. more below the cut.
i went back and rewrote chapters 3, 4, and 5 of Daughter of the Wild One because i've improved a lot over the last two years since i wrote them. chapters 6 and 7 are next, with some touching up to chapter 8 before i finally get around to releasing chapter 9. i already rewrote chapters 1 and 2 back in 2023.
it would be very epic and awesome and cool of you if you went back and read the newer versions of these chapters because i am very happy with them.
if you've never heard of Daughter of the Wild One before, it's a fanfic i'm writing about The Owl House where Luz is Eda's biological daughter, with all the shenanigans and world changing consequences you would expect from this. it would make me very happy if you read it.

you know, i've read so many batman fics where they have to make some elaborate story for jason todd's return, like one where he claimed to be in witness protection after having seen the joker murder robin. but like. this is gotham city. he could literally just say "yeah i dug out of my grave after some otherworldly shit happened and had amnesia for a while but i got better" at a gala and everyone would just believe him because they see weirder shit happen every tuesday.
furthermore, consider that there was (i believe) an autopsy done on jason to confirm the cause of death. it is very likely that jason still has those autopsy scars. depending on if you think the john doe at the hospital from before the league took him eventually gets connected to jason - which could happen with this idea - then either gotham literally knows he was genuinely dead, or they could believe it because some guy walked into the hospital with autopsy scars a few years ago.
they could also have reasonably seen the scars on jason at some point. now, maybe jason just never does anything without a shirt on anymore, but i think the mental image of jason at some gala with a pool taking his shirt off and everyone around him just going "oh," is the absolute funniest shit.
newbie fic authors, shooting themselves in the foot: This fic is bad haha I suck at writing lol I am being mean to myself in the hopes that you will be nice to me but actually am dissuading anyone from even clicking on my fic because all I have done to advertise it is tell you why you shouldn't read it
me: I am King Big Dick of Fanfic Mountain and I have arrived in your fandom with the Express Intention of writing my Very Favorite Fics, which I will generously allow you to read. You're welcome.
on the topic of batfamily stuff, i've seen a couple people gripe about how unrealistic many fanon interpretations of them are, and how they always seem to ditch some of the flaws in order to have fluffy domestic moments. and, i mean, they aren't wrong. but, also, i think that's partly the point. we have a lot of broken and dysfunctional families in the real world, and it's nice to step away from that, even if it's only for a little while.
and i don't mean to say that we shouldn't be using and dealing with these real-world problems in our fictional worlds - that would be stupid. i think some of the best stories out there are the ones that tackle genuine character flaws, or deal with the many realistic issues that we can all feel sympathetic and understanding towards. after all, that's part of the reason so many of us became invested in the batfamily dc presented us with.
but, sometimes, we just want something nice and fluffy, without all the pain. sometimes, we don't want to watch a father make mistake after mistake, or watch siblings try to murder each other, or watch families crumble apart. sometimes, we just want to see a happy dad, with the occasional happy husband or wife, and his happy army of kids. sometimes, we just wanna get away from the real world for a little bit, and embrace the happiness we don't always get to experience in it. and i don't really get what's wrong with enjoying that.
so don't let anyone that your happy fluffy magical fix-it au isn't valid, or that the fact you ignore the occasional character flaw for the sake of a peaceful domestic moment makes you wrong. go draw your batfam cuddling on the couch during a rainy night, or write a story about the justice league meeting a bunch of kids that call bruce their dad. don't feel bad about leaving the darker, grittier stories to the ones who like to write and draw those.
idk man, just do what makes you happy. if writing unrealistically fluffy domestic moments for a fictional family of adopted vigilantes is what that is, then go for it.
