I guess Neil and Cameron were childhood friends, so they knew each other before they got to Welton (their parents were friends).

For Neil, Cameron was a bit like the "parents' friends' son" you spend time with because you have to. For Cameron, instead, Neil was the friend he really needed.

The real problem was when they got to Welton. Neil made friends with Charlie and the others, and Cameron felt like a third wheel.

Ok guys, head canon time

Regulus took a class where the students were required to write some sort of gratitude notes about people they were thankful for. Regulus wrote one for James and one for Barty and Evan and was super honest cause “it’s not like they’ll find out”. HOWEVER, after the notes were written, the teacher revealed that they would have to read their notes to the people they wrote them for.

James got the sappiest love note of all time and cried while Regulus read it. It was literal poetry. Just. Beautiful. (Bonus points if Regulus said “I love you” for the first time in the note)

Barty and Evan got a really sweet note and spent the whole time laughing and teasing Regulus. They were all “aww Reggie really does like us” and Regulus said he hated them and Evan was like “your note says otherwise”
