What has been your worst "nice guy" experience?
So, possibly one of the coolest things Iâve ever seen. I mean you know how you hear the âwomen want him, men want to *be* himâ stuff in old movies? Well Iâm a man and by *god* I wanted to be this guy. Anyway!
Iâm having dinner with my girlfriend at the time, and behind us are a couple on a date. It is.. not going well. Guy was being rather creepy and making some pretty inappropriate comments, the girl doesnât look at all comfortable.
The girl finishes her appetiser really quickly, my guess is she wanted to get it over with. Guy proceeds to comment on it and says âwell, least I know you can swallow right?â. Loudly.
Girl goes red and tells him that isnât appropriate, he literally waves his hand in a âshooâ type motion and says âoh calm down I was going to find out in a few hours anywayâ.
I missed her exact reply as she moved to a hushed tone, but it was fairly obvious what was being said - fuck no, fuck off, fuck this. He responded with âsweetheart I picked you up, I know where you liveâ. She lost the colour in her face and said nothing.
No. No. Fuck no. Iâm one of those âget involvedâ type of people and there is no way Iâm sitting here watching this go down. I get up. I donât know what Iâm going to do, but Iâm 23, fighting fit and happy to put that motherfucker through a wall. I may have had a slight temper in my youth. But anyway.
I was halfway out of my chair when a hand came down on my shoulder and I look up to this mid-50s but super fit guy who says âEasy.. Iâve got this one sonâ. Absolute, total confidence in his voice.. so seeing as my current plan amounted to âstab him in the neckâ and Iâm already thinking maybe thatâs not the best idea, I sit down.
He walks over, grabs a nearby chair, flips it around and sits down with the couple. Then.. he pulls out his police ID and puts it on the table. Now the guy doesnât have any colour in his face.
Cop: âSo, Iâm quietly celebrating my daughters birthday with my family when I distinctly hear you threaten this young lady, would you care to explain yourself?â
Guy: âI, ah, well, um, you see..â
Cop: âThatâs what I thought. Now see, we take a *very* dim view of that kind of thing, so right now Iâm deciding if I want to have some of my buddies come pick you up.â
Guy: âoh no well thatâŠâ
Cop: âBut that would disrupt everyoneâs dinner, so how about you hand me your ID, because I wouldnât want you running off on me, then you go see one of the staff here and settle your bill.. the full bill now, this young lady shouldnât go hungry on account of your poor behaviour. Or we can go with the first option, Iâll leave it up to you.â
Guy: âNo no! Thatâs perfectly fine!â \*hands over ID, gets up and walks very quickly in the direction of the counter\*
Cop: \*while writing down the guys details\* âSorry about that miss, I hope Iâm not intruding it just seemed like you could use some help. Oh and donât worry, if you want to pursue this further Iâll have some of the boys pick him up on his way home, we can definitely take this further.â
Girl: âNo, thank you so much, I wanted to run out 30 minutes ago but he drove me hereâ.
Cop: \*shifts from hardarse cop to comforting father figure in about half a second\* âWell Iâm here with my daughter, sheâs about your age, perhaps youâd like to finish your meal with us? We can run you home afterwards if youâd like, unless youâd prefer to call someone else?â
Girl: âOh.. that would be really nice.. thankyou so much!â
\*guy returns, so does the hardarse cop\*
Guy: âUh so, Iâve paid the bill, if I could have my ID back..â.
Cop: âThere you go.. now I have your details right here so I *highly* recommend you donât go near or contact this young lady ever again.â
Guy: âYes yes of course, Iâm so sorry!â
The guy pretty much fled the restaurant, the girl went and sat with the cop and his family and by the time we left they were still sitting around talking and laughing about random crap.
It was hands down the best way I have ever seen anybody handle any situation, ever. That cop is my hero.
Dude. I hope that man has a great rest of his life.
EXCUSE ME?!?? Bring it BACK? I wasnât aware it was gone. But, oh thatâs right, it must have been because thereâs been a black FLOTUS for 8 years. She couldnât possibly be glamorous, right?

To an insane degree, the best shows are the student shows, because theyâre prepped. They know what theyâre coming to see. You donât realize how much life has beaten you up until you see a bunch of kids see a show. The things they react to wouldnât occur to you to react to. Thereâs a moment where an American spy passes another spy a letter and a redcoat comes and just twists her neck and pulls her away. Itâs not on the album, itâs a physical moment, itâs just before âRight Hand Man.â Adults watch and they go, âoh, this is a transition, itâs a stage transition, this is information we needed to know.â When kids see that moment they go âOH!â Honest. Life hasnât beat them up yet, they can actually be surprised and afraid and annoyed. Itâs such live ammo to have an audience of students but itâs so much more rewarding because theyâre there for all of it. Theyâre there for Anthony being gorgeous because heâs gorgeous, so when he says âLetâs strip down to our socks itâs like, âAaah!â â ten kids just started puberty. Twenty girls just started puberty and ten guys just figured something out. âOh. Oh this. I know this about myself now.â The inverse is true for Jasmine. Jasmine did one of our video Ham4Hams and the overwhelming comment was from teenage girls saying, âIâm so gay, Iâm SO GAY.â Thatâs because theyâre in love with her. All this is to say the student matinees are just thrilling because the reaction is completely unguarded. When our characters pass away there are honest to god hitching sobs. We get that from adult audiences too, but its harder to get to you. It comes unbidden from these kids.

We Want This Trend To Be Inclusive.
Black PeopleÂ
Black LGBTÂ
PoC Â
LGBT PoC
LGBT
Allies should boost and support those trending.Â
Every minority group shares oppression and discrimination.Â
We welcome any and all tweets that talk about personal experiences with discrimination.Â
We welcome any and all tweets about what media representation means to you.Â
We welcome any and all tweets about real life discriminatory experiences and its intersection with media representation.Â
We welcome any and all tweets about how âeverybody but usâ describes your feelings towards lack of democracy, your freedom, your equality, and your happiness.Â
Art imitates life.Â
Life imitates art.Â
While we want this trend to be inclusive, we also want one major thing to be kept in mind.Â
This account started because OITNB killed Poussey Washington. They said they killed Poussey to teach white people a lesson about police brutality. We chose the imagery in our poster to underline the specific pain and fears that Black and Black LGBT people experience everyday of their life.Â
As a Black LGBT account, this trend will have tweets about police brutality, experiences with the police, experiences that are unique to us, what Poussey meant to us and why representation matters to us. Please keep this in mind as you tweet and support those who tweet about their experience.Â
2 questions (just to clarify so I know the protocol to follow for this):Â
1. So if we have white skin but are members of one or more minority groups (eg. Iâm part Native Brazilian, an immigrant, and Latina but pasty due to my German side) do we fall under a minority group supposed to post about discrimination or are we supposed to just boost?
2. If weâre an ally whoâs witnessed discrimination and/or heard from our minority friends about instances of discrimination should we/could we post about that? Or post stats related to discrimination or something like that?
1. Yes. Any POC and/or LGBT+ member falls under minorities who have more than likely experienced their own form of discrimination.
2. As an ally, people are welcome to post about experiences they have learned from their friends who are minorities. As long as they donât talk over other minorities, they are welcome to post statistics and post about injustices they have seen done to their friends. They should just keep in mind not to talk over minorities and to try to boost and support tweets from minorities.Â
3. This trend is meant to share experiences. To talk about the issues and instances that have bothered and/or stuck with you. To learn about other peopleâs struggles. To learn why media representation is important to each individual. To tag OITNB and other media sites with your concerns. To get into why you in your own experiences might feel its everybody but us. And most importantly to walk away hopefully having learned more about each other.
bring back the gay rhino
This scene will forever be the most important scene in any movie to me. Â This is a little girl who has been told all her life by her parents that she is a mistake and that she is worthless. Â This is a little girl whose family life is so horrible that books are her only escape. Â This is a little girl whose parents constantly belittle her for reading, the only pleasure in life she has. Â And in this scene, this little girl answers very shyly, because she has been conditioned to be embarrassed of her own existence. Â At first, she answers slowly, and without making eye contact. And in this scene this little girl is beginning to realize that maybe she is special. Â Maybe there are kind people in the world. Â Maybe she is worth something.
Matilda is honestly one of my favorite movies
Dear authors: you have to learn the difference between a bad boy and a bastard abuser.
Um, yes.
For those of you who are confused: Bad boy: probably poor, doesnât follow rules because he thinks they are harmful or stifling (âI canât sit there all day when teachers donât give a shit if I learn or notâ), outbursts are at injustices, fights to defend (âleave them alone/youâre hurting this place leave!â) Bastard abuser: probably middle class or higher, doesnât follow rules because he thinkâs heâs above them (âschool is a waste of time I can learn what I need to from booksâ), outbursts are about things not going the way he wants them, fights to prove superiority or lay claim (âstay off my turf/away from my girl!â)
Bad boy: Bender from The Breakfast Club. Bastard abuser: Christian Grey from 50 Shades.
at what point in history do you think americans stopped having british accents
Actually, Americans still have the original British accent. We kept it over time and Britain didnât. What we currently coin as a British accent developed in England during the 19th century among the upper class as a symbol of status. Historians often claim that Shakespeare sounds better in an American accent.
whAT THE FUCK
Iâm too tired for this
Always add in the video that according to linguists, Native southern drawl is a slowed down British.
Tâ be or not tâbe, yâall.
Fun fact: Same thing happened with the French accent. French Canadians still have the original French accent from the 15th century.
