I'm finally getting a chance to start setting up Veronaville, I've only been talking about it for what like a week and a half? I've been using rural charm as my lush default for ages but I found this veronaville replacement so that's kinda fun and lordcrumps' tree defaults are giving me life it's so pretty! I'm so used to seeing a desert with Strangetown/LFT.
I've not done anything but add the clean template, replace the map, and add a skyline/sky. I downloaded all of Katatty's lots a few days ago so that's my plan for tomorrow is to replace all the lots. Then add Académie Le Tour, makeovers, all my other regular setup, etc. And then I do still plan on making a second blog before I start playing so that my Veronaville screenies aren't all mixed up with my Strangetown screenies (not to mention my queue of Strangetown screenies seems to be permanently about a month out because I take so many... we'd never get to the Veronaville ones 😆)
If anyone plays Veronaville and plays with traits, what traits should the premades have? I still know virtually nothing about these sims. Although I learned yesterday that Patrizio's bio mentions llamas so I'm finally gonna get to use the 4t2 llamas and goats and stuff and I'm so excited!
i don’t like to talk drama at all but considering the majority of cindy (pleasantsims) fanbase are teenagers just getting into the sims, just an fyi that she’s 1) a very icky person, read about it on the snark subreddit that’s up (there’s verified evidence of her abusing her ex husband there) and 2) her new boyfriend is planning to doxx many people who criticise her (on that snark subreddit) by hiring a digital detective. this is a grown man btw. please be safe people, this is really some disgusting work by the hands of cindy 🫂
This mod mimics the behavior of the need solving keyboard shortcuts present in the Stories games and the later Sims games, to a certain extent.
The Needs panel will now display the associated keyboard shortcut to automatically solve each need.
Should also work with Servos, PlantSims and toddlers, however toddlers are naturally a little limited in what they can do to take care of themselves.
It's compatible with TwoJeffs' SmartBeds, if you'd like the energy shortcut to be smarter about which bed it chooses.

For Modders
This section assumes you know how to create a global mod and are familiar with modding.
If you'd like to make a mod that reacts to key presses, you will need to create a custom text file in "TSBin/mods" named "x_hotkeys.cfg", with x being whatever you want. For example, "ld_coolmod_hotkeys.cfg".
The included "ld_needsolve_hotkeys.cfg" file contains comments on the syntax of the file and how to write your own or rebind existing ones.
You also need the "ld_HotkeyController.package" file included in this mod for it to work. Feel free to redistribute it with your own mods.
Next, you need to create a new global object and set its category to -14457 in its Init function. Then, create a "CT - Hotkey" private BHAV.
This BHAV will get called everytime there is a key press, with the SimAntics value associated to they keypress passed as the Param 0.
Here's a failed project because I changed my mind oops.
But now that I've spent time on this already, here you go! tfbottomhipmicrominiskirt replaced with a shoeswap using Pixicat JC Scully. I put the shoes and legs in their own group so the skirt part is still compatible with texture defaults. There's also an adult conversion bundled with the default if you get the version labelled ADDONS.
Download default!
And because. Uh. There's also a custom version with three recolours, using Maxis denim, Maxis beige, and Maxis beige with socks by PinkZombieCupcakes. Teens texture referenced to adults.
The funniest thing about the news that project rene WON'T be a hard cut from TS4 to TS5 is that it makes me think that they were like "oh let's float this to the community and see if they like it..."
Then when we REALLY didn't it was like "OH JK, It's not part of the mainline series. Another 10 years of TS4!!!" So they're basically telling us without telling us like "yeah,,, we don't really believe in our product either. It's uh... not great."
Each piece of news is more hilarious and confusing than the last. Like, at this point, I really do feel like the higher ups are just sort of giving up on the series and being like "Let fucking Paradox figure this shit out."
I legit just don't believe that EA thinks they can make another mainline windows-based sims game because the market has changed too much and they don't think it's viable. I may be wrong but if I had to guess they're chasing the casual market and that market's mostly on mobile now and easier to manipulate with micro-transactions.
I think they're wrong, I just think that they don't understand that their audience changed. In like 2006, you had a bunch of teenagers who had computers and NOTHING else playing The Sims.
Now? Your audience is going to be mostly older life sim players and a much smaller group of young people.
Turns out alienating your older dedicated fan base to chase a much smaller group of 12-18 year olds that, let's face it, just don't care about the brand is a losing strategy.
It made sense to aim at that demographic in the 2000s, not so much now. LBY has a much better chance at succeeding because they're not trapped by a marketing strategy that was developed while Bush was still in office.
