I won the 2004 Hugo Award for Best Short Story for an H. P. Lovecraft /Arthur Conan Doyle mashup fiction, so fanfiction had better be legitimate, because I'm not giving the Hugo back.

Thinking about how many ace, aro, and especially aroace people identify as nonbinary, or more specifically agender. Thinking about how many people come to identify as nonbinary after coming to terms with their aspec identity. Thinking about my own disconnect from gender due to my lack of attraction, because gender and sexuality are tangled together in intricate ways. Thinking about the way aspec people are dehumanized and how easy that shit is to internalize. Thinking about aspecs being unable to relate to “normal” (assumed standard, expected) human experiences. Thinking about “love is what makes us human!” Thinking about defining your identity by a lack of something. Just thinking about agender aspecs.

I came up with the idea of familiars taking a photoshoot for charity.

And, being who they are, you really can't expect them to stay still.

You may notice that Isaac is the only one still posing and Nick is so done that he manages only to roll his eyes.
