Helllooo, my name is Boomie (or Byoomie hehe) and uh, I exist here now. Used to have another tumblr blog long ago but I needed a break and stuff.

Hey so remember that sketch I did a few weeks ago? Yeah I finally colored her in lol. Anyway, behold Fury, again! She is from a world where kaiju are sapient and can talk, but are still at odds with humans. Thankfully Fury found herself a bouncer job at an interdimensional nightclub, so she gets to worry about that less. The stuff on her back is fire btw, it increases or decreases depending on her mood.

Hopefully you all will be seeing more of her in the future! Aka I need to do more than draw my characters standing in a gray void geez louise-

"Why would the forests seek the bounty of the oceans?" Asks the whale. "They have bounty of their own."

"You forget," says the salmon, "That the oceans were once their home."

When it comes to climates in fantasy settings, it's good to bear in mind that "normal" and "freaky" are a matter of where one grew up. There are things that only live in one climate, and not in another. It might feel tempting to make the people from the Scary Fucky Nightmare Climate not flinch at anything at all, but it's far more fun and realistic to make them frightened or at least unsettled by things they've never seen before. Doesn't matter if it's harmless to humans, What The Fuck Is That Thing And Why Is It Indoors.

Cold climates, for example, are dominated by warm-blooded creatures like mammals and birds. Your big nordic valkyrie warrior woman whose first baby chew toy was a bear skull, and who once kicked a lynx in the face for trying to get her little brother, would not be chill about the concept of a lizard as big as a squirrel, or a spider bigger than her thumb. These two examples are the biggest upper limit hypothetical examples of absurdly large reptiles and invertebrates that they could possibly imagine.

#mysoapbox but I'm tired of cozy as a concept, I don't feel good about media being treated as a sedative first and a means of self-expression second, and I think everyone should get more comfortable with being uncomfortable

In my opinion, wondering whether or not you’re a good person or a bad person isn’t really a constructive or useful activity.

You’re too close to yourself to make that kind of judgement. You’re not really qualified to judge the exterior of a house that you’re always standing inside of.

Anyways since I’ve switched to the mindset of “I’m just gonna keep trying and not try to pass final judgement on myself because that’s above my pay grade” I have unsurprisingly had way less nights sobbing on the floor convinced that I’m a terrible irredeemable piece of human garbage.

Am I good? Am I bad? Not my business. I’m just gonna keep trying to do better and let the cards fall where they may.
