YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK! YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK! YOU CAN BITE AND SCRATCH AND BEG BUT YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK!
this is making me emotional
imagine dealing w an international crisis involving precious artifacts and someone is like ‘don’t worry I know a guy’ and it’s a dorky connecticut college professor named henry who slips into his slutsona and suddenly he’s capable of saving the world w the power of his whip & fedora
you don’t know where the guy is. you don’t know where the guy is going. but you do know he’s on the case w a 98% success rate and his tits are out
I said what I said!
#this man gets uncomfortable and overwhelmed when 20 y/o college girls hit on him #but take off his glasses #put on his fedora #and this man is ready to find Atlantis in three to eight business days (via @sansakenobi)
It’s impossible to argue with anything above.
previous tags are on point: #hat ON archeology APPLIED tits OUT
the dynamic between two people who love a third person so much and come to understand each other because of that is so important to me. you would put them first, and so would i. you understand why we have to save them from themself. i trust you with their life, and so, that means more than if i trusted you with mine. the love doesn't have to be the same, but it's powerful enough that you understand why you're not the only satellite drawn into their orbit.
we learn from history that most people do not learn from history
the slow casual creep of misogyny back into every point of our lives both digital and physical is making me feel fucking insane
for about a month in the early 2010s people used to say things like climate change is real and gay people deserve rights. does anyone remember this
This was on a post about how it's ignorant and privileged to wear headphones in public and I fear its already become a part of my vocabulary. Must everything harbor a moral failure.
hearing a beloved friend say the words 'can i be mean for a sec' is like watching an angel descend from the heavens and kiss you on the forehead
my brain has subconciously decided that tiktok is “unhealthy” but tumblr is “healthy” which i dont think is entirely true but i kind of like the idea.
researchers: this condition is underdiagnosed advocacy groups: we'll spread knowledge that it's underdiagnosed healthcare workers: some of us will use expanded diagnostic criteria now patients: wow we finally know what's up
tabloids: the condition is mysteriously spreading. this is DANGEROUS.
for the ides of march, tumblr should give us a button to stab people. and a badge for stabbing a lot of people.
Can we just start stabbing Julius Caesar now it's been a hard week.
to me the absolutely funniest part of cunk on earth is the fact that every single scientist without fail says "not as far as i'm aware of" instead of "no" whenever she asks them the most insane question possible.
i dont know how much of that show is scripted but i think their reactions are genuine (?) and like. that's what scientists are really like. it's hilarious. all my uni professors do the same thing, they word every negative response as a "well sounds wrong to me but idk bro maybe i just haven't read about it yet so. whatever".
if there is one thing we hate it's definitive answers.
"if there is one thing we hate it's definitive answers" well i think it depends really
I know the answer to this! It's not scripted, but they're prepped by the producers. They're told that the person interviewing them is in persona, but they should engage with her as though a child is the one asking the questions. So, answer honestly, take the questions seriously, but keep the answers as simple and clear and easy-to-understand as possible
The other thing, though, is that as scientists it's drilled into you that There Is No Certain Answer. When a scientist calls something a "virtual certainty", that's a lay person's "Definitely Not." But scientists are not very good at remembering that communication gap lol.
