Since your researching colour genetics, Is there a reason horses have never been albino but other equids like zebras have?
Is it just that we haven't discovered an albino horse yet? Or is there some genetic reason why horses can't, despite other equids being capable?
Ok, this will be controversial, horse people please don't be mad. But I simply can't understand why this zebra would be considered an albino:
but these horses wouldn't:
SLC45A2 is a widely documented albinism gene. It's literally OCA4. The SLC45A2 double dilutes are extremely light colored, have light blue eyes and pinkish skin. The word albinism is often used for not completely pigmentless phenotypes too, just see the wikipedia descriptions of the different types of oculocutaneous albinism in humans.
So that's my answer. Even though they aren't normally called that, according to the common understanding and use of the term, double dilute and pseudo double dilute horses are albinos.
Have you ever seen a white Common Raven (Corvus corax)? No, this isn’t a new species… or a ghost. 👻 This Raven’s striking pale plumage is the result of the genetic mutations leucism or albinism. Leucism is a reduction in all types of pigmentation, including melanin. Albinism is the inability to produce or distribute melanin. One hint to tell the difference? Individuals affected by leucism often have blue eyes, while individuals with albinism have pink eyes. White Common Ravens are rare. An estimated 1 in 30,000 individuals is born without this species’ signature black plumage.

"If the only reason you engage with Ralsei's character is because you theorize about which Light World object he is and you constantly replace his role as a Delta Warrior and as Susie and Kris' friend with Noelle, you are falling for Ralsei's mentality that he is not a real person and you shouldn't care about him, thus completely failing to understand his character," I say into the mic.
The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks up.
"She's right!"
I turn around.
It's Susie Deltarune.
