so maybe im more sensitive bc growing up on here in the height of "ace discourse" but I'm confused how many people don't seem upset about these weird passive-aggressive, bad-faith posts about ace and/or aro people re: the good omens ending.
i mean, i won't pretend the decisions made about what kind of queers get to exist on mainstream tv isn't directly influenced by a political reality that (especially in the UK & USA) is increasingly hostile to queer people. everyone knows this to be the case. but it's ridiculous to take your anger at That and then act like an asexual and/or aromantic blogger on tumblr.com, who felt slightly represented for fucking once, is your enemy. like i know famously we're saturated with asexual and aromantic people in media (last year in usa television: 0 ace characters in cable or broadcast, 2 on streaming, and 0 aromantic characters, via GLAAD 24–25 report) but it is well within everyone's capacity to have a nuanced discussion of this that doesn't jump to blatantly ace/aro-phobic rhetoric.
and we don't have time to get into how hypocritical it is for tumblr fandoms to attack people for connecting to something as representation even when the showrunner doesnt give a fuck abt queer people. we are doing that to gay men ships all day everyday!
like, please be serious. no one is gonna give us more explicit gay rep for throwing other queer people under the bus
