To remember the beautiful, talented and show-stopping, Jessica Walter, here are some of her greatest moments as Lucille Bluth.
Hey, just a heads up to everyone who follows my blog: if you see anybody with an orange and black square in their bio, theyâre a transphobe.
Idiots on TikTok have been coming out in droves in support of some bullshit identity called âsuper straightâ which basically means that theyâre only attracted to cis people đ Theyâre trying to wedge themselves into the LGBTQ+ community and their claim is that itâs phobic toward them to say that theyâre transphobic⊠itâs just a gargantuan cishet headache.
So, to reiterate: orange and black squares = the âsuper straightâ flag = transphobic dogwhistle. Stay safe everyone!
People have been pointing out additional things in the replies of this post and Iâll summarize them here because itâs important!
This isnât something that only cishet people are doing, there are cis lesbians, cis gay men, and cis bi people who have been labelling themselves âsuper (insert sexual orientation)â and Iâve seen a couple of them on Tumblr already when I went digging in the tags for more information. Please, for your own safety and mental wellbeing, just block them immediately.
Although it is now rampant on TikTok and Twitter (I believe), âsuper straightâ originated on 4chan and it is a gigantic Nazi dogwhistle in addition to being transphobic as fuck. Basically, the term can be abbreviated to âSSâ which is also short for Schutzstaffel (a paramilitary organization under Hitler in Nazi Germany). The colours of the âsuper straightâ flag are also the colours of a specific Nazi flag.
These people are extremely bad news. Please block them if you see them.
I want to make an addition!Â
If youâre reading this post, or about the subject another thing you can do aside from spreading, blocking, educating yourself and deconstructing biases, etc., etc., is donate to Trans people or Trans mutual aid funds if youâre able.
Examples like The Okra Project, the Trans Women of Colour Collective, the BlkTransFutures collective, Black and Pink, the FTEF, the Black Trans Travel Fund, the BFTA collective, the LGBTQ Freedom Fund, or the Marsha P. Johnson Institute.
These are literally only some of the available options out there. Thereâs also different transition funds and donation lists around Tumblr that are organised by trans people (tpoc specially) to help each other and that you can donate, too.
Transphobia isnât just TERFs outing themselves as Nazis once again, transphobia is also the unsustantiability of trans life by altering the conditions which would otherwise allow us to live â specially of trans people of colour.
Here is another post with many other alternatives.
This is also a time for standing with Jewish trans people, listening to them, and learning from them and standing by them. I, personally, donât know specific coalitions or groups where you can donate or find other ways to support them. Of course, Iâll personally keep looking, but if you have some, make them circulate.
Fuck TERFs, fuck Nazis, block them and ridicule them but most importantly stand in solidarity with the groups which are the most affected by transphobia and Nazism.
Even if youâre monogamous. This is not just for polyamorous people. Your partner is allowed to have fulfilling friendships outside of you. Your partner is allowed to turn to other people to help meet their needs. Demanding that they only come to you is unrealistic, toxic, possessive, and an unhealthy dynamic. The narrative that your partner should get everything from you - and you get everything from them - is a harmful product of bad rom coms. Donât fall for it.
Absolutely even if youâre monogamous. Maybe especially then.
Your partner should have fulfilling relationships outside of the one they have with you. This isnât just something you should tolerate, itâs something you should encourage, for your own emotional well-being as well as theirs. If your partner doesnât want to have any relationships outside of the one they have with you, something is terribly wrong.

hey give birds antlers
But what if they get stuck in the trees
alright but they could also use it as camouflage and blend in with the tree
What if they landed on each otherâs antlers
stack em
@wishem
i keep presenting you with cursed concepts and you keep drawing them in friendly, pleasant ways, this is blasphemyÂ
Imagine if you picked one up from its antlers, like some birb-on-a-stick
Utterly fantastic
Birds with antlers you say? Have a class doodle
the ones on top are its babies
Hereâs some art by Munwie on Deviantart:
Meanwhile, this is an obvious reason why Viking helmets didnât have horns.
Going into battle wearing handlebars for the opponent to play with is a Bad Idea. That didnât stop other cultures (Indo-Persian, Japanese) from doing so, but Vikings? NO.
The origin of the Nordic Horned Helmet is actually known: they first appeared in C.E. Doeplerâs costume designs for Wagnerâs âRing Cycleâ operas.
In 1876.
Incidentally, calling mail armour âchain-mailâ first happened in the novel âThe Fortunes of Nigelâ by Sir Walter Scott.
In 1822.
Something similar has happened with the word âlongswordâ, which only came into general HEMA use for what had previously been âhand-and-a-halfâ or âbastardâ swords about 20 years ago; even then the first time I saw it (in âMedieval Swordsmanshipâ © 1998 by John Clements) it was two words with a hyphen: âlong-swordâ.
As a single word itâs been part of the fantasy fiction arsenal since the mid-1970s, for example in C.J. Cherryhâs âGate of Ivrelâ © 1977, I used it in âThe Horse Lordâ © 1983, and Iâm sure a search through very early D&D manual could place it even earlier.
Longsword is certainly a handier term than the alternatives, but IIRC even âhand-and-a-half swordâ is no older than Victorian. In the Middle Ages a sword was usually just âa swordâ; it was very inconsiderate of them not to think of later generations who might like to label things with a bit more exactitudeâŠ
Not all Munwieâs Deviantart birds are corvids, and not all are sinisterâŠ
âŠthough you might have second thoughts about that if you know anything about the lifestyle of the European Robin.
Theyâre ferociously territorial, their usual song translates as âGet Off My Lawn Or I Will Kill You With Deathâ, and weâre grateful the two pairs in our garden are the size they are and not as big as e.g. tyrannosaur turkeys.
Which having written it is a mental image I really didnât needâŠ

I have a personal theory about the Costume Horned Helmets:
Exhibit A:Â Mead Horn
Ehbit B: Beer Hat

âThe Writer,â 1 of 3 surviving automata from the 18th century, is a programmable boy that uses quill and ink to write any 40 letters of custom text. This 240-year-old automaton uses all 6,000 of its parts to create just enough pressure for fluid, elegant writing, and is thought by some to be the first computer. Source
This is truly a masterpiece of engineering from an early age. So amazing!
okay LOOK. I understand that on a purely mechanical and engineering level that this is an incredible piece but if scifi and fantasy media has taught me anything itâs that this motherfucker is haunted af and probably writes out gruesome deaths that mysteriously end up coming to pass thanks but NO THANKS BYE
computer science major here, iâm with haunted guy
I have been here, multiple times! By referring to the order as a âLittle Rosaâ, you donât have to make as big a deal out of the fact that youâre seeking help.
And believe it or not, it gets better. Rosaâs also gives out sweatshirts to the homeless (or sells them to the general public) that has information on local soup kitchens and even computer training in the area, on an insert sewn inside the sweatshirt.
(Details)
Reblogged again for these excellent details.
Also you can buy slices for the homeless through their online store, from anywhere, not just PA!
here is the link for anyone who wants to buy slices for the homeless
thank you for the comment about buying online! I am in canada but would love to help

I donât even care that this video is an advertisement. The kind of spirit the man in this story portrays is the kind of spirit which we should all strive for. đ
Being a good person just for the sake of it. Imagine that.
This has always been when of my all time favorite commercials. And I never fail to cry.
âSaruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.â

Never fails to make me cry and smile.
Itâs the little things.
Canât believe Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice in the 2000s
And in 2015 Emily Brontë released literary clsssic Wuthering Heights

if you think jk was the first woman author, you donât actually care about women authors.
Mary Shelley didnt fuck on her parents graves for this level of disrespect
Murasaki Shikibu didnât invent the novel for this.
Christine de Pizan did not sit down at her desk and write The Book of the City of Ladies, advocating for womenâs education and finding value in women of all social classes and backgrounds, in 1405 for this.
đ¶SHAHARIZADE HAD A THOUSAND TALESđ¶
ThisâŠâŠâŠ.isnât even true in 20th century fantasy or childrens books? Pierce, Lackey, Applegate, McCaffrey, Bradley, Butler, whomst?
Casual reminder that
a woman was the first known author/poet in 2300BC - Enheduanna
the first novel in recorded history was written by a woman in 1010AD - Murasaki Shikibu
the earliest example of science fiction was written by a woman in 1666 - Margaret Cavendish
horror science fiction was popularised by a teenage girl in 1818 - Mary Shelley
a Scotswoman expanded childrensâ stories from moralising tales into anarchic adventures in the mid 1800s, well before it became popular in the early 20th century - Catherine Sinclair
the masked/costumed hero archetype that inspired Batman and Zorro was created by a woman in 1905 - Baroness Emma Orczy
And while she is problematic as all get out, we all know who is to blame for popularising Boarding School fiction (which is a huge inspiration of She Who Must Not Be Named) from the 1930s onwards - Enid Blyton
And do I even need to mention what a badass pioneer Ursula Le Guin was for women author in the fantasy/sci-fi genre?
Not to mention Agatha Christie is literally second only to Shakespeare in terms of works sold â 4 billion compared to JKRâs paltry 500 millionÂ

Image transcript:
âBut what will you do with the lazy man, the man who does not want to work?â inquires your friend.
That is an interesting question, and you will probably be very much surprised when I say that there is really no such thing as laziness. What we call a lazy man is generally a square man in a round hole. That is, the right man in the wrong place, And you will always find that when a fellow is in the wrong place, he will be inefficient or shiftless. For so-called laziness and a good deal of inefficiency are merely unfitness, misplacement. If you are compelled to do the thing you are unfitted for by your inclinations or temperament, you will be inefficient at it; if you are forced to do work you are not interested in, you will be lazy at it.
