I’d love to know which Robby/Abbot fics you love and would recommend! I love seeing which fics other people like, it makes me go back and read stuff I might have overlooked.

Dana came sidling up alongside him, her head on a swivel as she said, "Have you seen Robby?" It's 8:01PM when Jack goes looking for Robby, and winds up in a situation that calls for an unconventional approach.
*this was the first one I read for this ship that made me sit up and go oh??? not a trope i would normally be into but @noawylies recced it so i couldn't not read it and they were right of course.

Fuck man, Marco thinks, pausing to catch a breath. He hopes this guy doesn’t jump. When Marco gets there though, the waiting silhouette is very much not Abbot. They’ve got the same lines under their eyes though. “Who the hell are you? Where’s…Abbot?” "I’m Dr. Robinavitch. Jack told me about you. I stole his phone.” Or: Marco the Delivery Guy bears witness.
*i love a good outsider POV fic and this one's GREAT.
State of Exception by prcntiss
Jack and Robby meet during residency in New Orleans. There is a lot of time between then and PittFest, but it takes a uniquely bad breaking point for them to reveal what they mean to each other.
*includes a really lovely backstory for them and a description of a scene i think about so often, when jack's on the roof for the first time and robby's hugging him from behind, with the metal railing trapped between them.

If asked, Jack could rattle off a couple pretty good reasons why he trails Robby out of the park that night, and they might even be true, but none of them would be the real one.
*one of my two top fav fics for this ship ever.
Prayers or Pity by madeitsimple
He couldn’t make Robby talk. Couldn’t crack Robby’s chest open with a rib spreader and dig out the rotten, infected tissue around his heart. If it were that easy, Jack would’ve had him on a gurney, being wheeled into the OR. Fixing a broken body, that was easier, more finite. Reducing pain down to bones and organs, tissue and tendons, that was something Jack could navigate. It was harder when the pain wasn’t localized, when it spread out amorphous and dark.
*the other one in my top two fics for this ship ever.
