Modern Mythology: Harmonia

“Having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness.” A Modern Harmonia with tea stained lips and a Jane Austen novel tucked under her arm, its dogeared and wrinkled from rain. Her nails are plain, she always chips off the paint with how much she uses her hands, with how much dirt finds its way to the cracks in her palms. She plants gardens in graveyards and places that have never known roses, and she has a habit of never pulling the weeds, believing with all she has that weeds are flowers too, and will tell so to anyone who listens. A soft touch, she has always had, despite the calluses her palms hold from the wars she had seen, from the storms she calmed, among fires and battles, she is known to those who don’t know when there will be an end, to those that need to know peace is always on its way. She is grass stains on knees and the wind on sunny days, she has waterfall eyes and weak fingers and knows far too much about bruises along bones, but also knows each flower that grow after flames.

About ten minutes into Tangled, I knew Rapunzel was going to be added to the top of my list of favorite Disney characters. She is so adorable! I love everything about her; all her little quirks and her personality! Not only that, but she has one of the cutest sidekicks AND Flynn Rider. I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving Rapunzel!
