hello i would like everyone to know that sometimes you can sob your eyes out and have an existential crisis one moment and then suddenly you're booking your driver's test and applying for jobs and crocheting a blanket and maybe life isn't so bad anymore!! maybe you can feel awful and fix your life anyway!! maybe you're allowed to be a wreck and still be good enough!! i am a full on adult and have avoided getting my license for years but now i'm finally doing it because i've grown around the fear!!!! the world didn't crash and burn when i was fifteen!! i did this for myself and i'm going to be okay!!
the way i am shaking with tears is an understatement I'VE BEEN QUOTED
I'm printing it and taping it to my mirror BTW

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
can't believe the only options are 30 minutes early or 10 minutes late. if only there were some other way. but what can you do
Do you have any queer Filipino creative projects you would like to recommend?
🏳️⚧️ Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
Hello, Happy Pride Month to you too kababyan 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
I was trying to find the very thing you were asking for but I couldn't it. It was a DND/RPG type of deal (not Sinauna), and I saw it a few months ago 😭
I have some creators I want to suggest un the meantime! They focus on pre-colonial history, and I've gotten great resources from them on researching those (they are queer/trans as well):
Nahia Lloren
Riverandcaiman
For more mainstream entertainment, here's a sapphic movie that came out recently:
I Fell, It's Fine - A wellness resort owner meets an otherworldly woman and finds healing.
I haven't watched yet because it's a bit difficult to find somewhere I can watch Filipino movies. I'm sharing because the actresses were in the first mainstream GL (The Rich Man's Daughter) back in 2015, and it was a big deal. I helped do captions for it!
If you're an LGBT Pinoy use this post to promo! If it's your own creative projects, your account, anything you want to share!
Happy Pride to my Kababayan!!! 🩷💜💙 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈
Let me throw some book reccs here hehe
Local Heavens by Kris M Fajardo - Gatsby retelling in a cyberpunk setting where Nick is bisexual and Filipino-American hacker and Gatsby is a technocract billionaire
Mistress of Lies by KM Enright - Daughter of a disgraced Blood Worker (blood mage) kills her own dad to protect her brother and enact her revenge. Things get complicated though when a magical serial killer is out on the loose. F/M/M poly romance.
The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez - Two warriors shepherd an ancient god across a broken land to end the tyrannical reign of a royal family (i havent read this yet but ive heard so many good things about it + my friend has read and he liked it a lot)
Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi - six people try to steal a stolen artifact for the mysterious order of babel. The POV switches between all six of them so it's not all filipino. Enrique though is filipino (mestizo) and bisexual. This is a trilogy but I also...havent really read the next two books bc unfort I grew out of YA.
enough men with dead wife syndrome. i want women fresh out of toxic divorces venting their feelings through bloodbaths and john wick action sequences
I recently replayed Feros and realized one important thing: it’s been a hot minute since I last played Mass Effect 1. The whole vibe of this mission felt a bit unsettling right from the start. Like, seriously. Those grim, crumbling docks where the Normandy lands against the dusty Feros sky… When I got a moment to do the side quests — looking for food, restoring the water supply, and destroying the geth transmitter — I went back to the docks just to stare at the scenery. Those clouds of orange dust literally make you feel suffocated, yet it’s so mesmerizing! The anxiety started creeping in the moment I met the colonists. I wasn't even surprised when I found out about the secret experiments being done on those poor people. But things got truly terrifying in the basement on my way to the Thorian, right when it spit out an Asari clone to talk to me. Major creeps. But the design of both the clone and Shiala herself looked so stunning that I just had to draw them >< Initially, I planned to make a simple sketch, like I did with Shepard and Tali. But then I felt like experimenting with something new in my drawing style and canvas composition. I saw some artists copying the line art to a new layer and using it as a decorative element. Well, what can I say? Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication! - Embrace eternity, Shepard. 💚✨
month starting on a monday we have no excuse guys lets get to work and lock the fuck in
yk its actually very chic and avant garde to start on tuesday the second
many claim theres nothing more subversive and revolutionary than starting on wednesday the third
it’s a shame more vampire media doesn’t pull from vampire bat behavior because they’re such sweeties. they can only survive their incredibly specialized diet because bats will share blood with colony members that didn’t find a meal! there’s evidence that suggests the donors sometimes initiate this behavior themselves by approaching hungry bats! the colonies are mostly harems of females with a few males but they’ve been observed letting unrelated males in when it gets cold so they can all stay warm! cute little social critters!

When people talk about all art being political (hard agree) they always talk about the content, themes, etc present within the art itself. Which obviously I get and obviously is a huge part of it. Of course. But I’m personally always struck by the politics surrounding the more metatextual elements of the art; that is, stuff like access to the tools needed for the creation of the art. I mean the literal materials of which an artpiece is made. This is a low-hanging-fruit example but I’m reminded of that Disney adult who tried to claim art isn’t inherently political by being like “I just drew a stick figure on a napkin, is that political? 🤣🤣” & while I think there are multiple different angles from which one could criticize this blatantly pathetic argument, I remember being really struck by like… the flagrant “waste” of implicitly throwaway resources that many parts of the world just literally don’t have and/or that carry with them deeply fraught histories of capitalist labor exploitation and destruction of natural resources. Like. Napkins?? The apolitical canvas that is paper napkins?
