If minimum wage you'd like to make, This ancient quiz you'll have to take.
Step right up, but be prepared. Those who fail are poverty-snared. Question One! If your labor proves most fruitful, Raking quarters by the bootful, Who should excess profits reap, Me the wolf or you the sheep? Question Two! If, by merit, you're made pope, What will be your fervent hope? Law and order justly paired? Or mercy and the guilty spared?
Question Three! If a train should leave Topeka Driven by a solar squeaker, How then should the cat behave? Give it milk or give it grave? Question Four! Do you have a criminal record?

The reason most indie novels are written like the author is terrified of doing something wrong is because the overwhelming majority of indie novelists get their start by networking in the violent panopticon of the social media indie publishing community, which favours the people who are able to win at the social policing game.
Okay so this comment got me googling because I hadn't heard of Isabel Fall
And if you also hadn't heard of her go read this because uhh... Holy Shit
I had heard of the whole messed up situation with this story, but I hadn't ever read the synopsis of the story before, and WOW
This story sounds like it could have been a brilliant exploration of gender and warfare and violence but instead it was attacked by people who didn't know how to confront a story that made them uncomfortable, and the author faced horrible consequences.
It's so important to be able to deal with stories that give you uncomfortable feelings in other ways than just attacking it. Being shown new perspectives sometimes has feelings of discomfort because it's an unfamiliar way of seeing the world.
favorite type of word: names of genres that tell you nothing without context. literary fiction. popular music. interactive fiction. lets invent a new genre called experiencable media
additions: speculative fiction, art film, point and click, simulation game. anything that makes you say "i sure hope so"

Is this anything
everything can be sorted on a sliding scale of "punk" (good) to "fascist" (bad). these are the only two ends of the scale it's possible to have. if something is "good" (for example, public libraries,) it cannot merely be Good, it is only possible that it be punk and THEN be good as a symptom of punk. but if you can't swing it to convincingly argue that public libraries are punk, then, well, I'm sorry, but the only option left is that libraries are in fact fascist.
awawa meets awebo
First tweet: “I saw a piece of fabric? on the floor of my room so I went to pick it up but it was actually the moonlight that entered through the window lmao”
Quote RT: “1000 years ago this would have been a poem, not a tweet”
i think some of you dont like narratives or stories or characters i think you just like fanfiction tropes
protagonists can and will be sexist, racist, insensitive, cruel, stupid, etc, especially towards the beginning of a story. these are called character flaws and they are a surprise tool that will lead to narrative fulfillment later
And sometimes "narrative fulfillment" doesn't mean "the character overcomes their flaws" or even "the antihero is punished for their flaws"! sometimes it means the narrative says "wow was that fucked up or what? anyway i'm rod sterling"
u can lift it bunny
I hope its ok i painted your bunny
