What kind of whump I'm into, and what you'll find in my blog.
My preferred tropes:
Stoic whumpee. Could be defiant, could be compliant, but always stoic. My whumpee never begs for mercy, never breaks, never gives up. My whumpee takes whatever's coming.
Male whumpee. Idk, for some reason female or nb whumpees just don't do it for me.
My whumpee always has some moral anchor, and he never betrays it to stop the pain. He could have done something bad, in that case he's in the redemption arc, accepting the consequences. In other cases he is in some way superior to the Whumper.
Relationship between Whumper and Whumpee is NEVER sexual or romantic. Ever.
Suffering is mostly physical. The only mental whump I found myself to like, is guilt and yearning for forgiveness. Open to other tropes in this department, but not found them yet.
My whumpee often volunteers or sacrifices himself in order to protect someone. He's a white knight.
My whumpee is never nasty. No drooling saliva, no vomit, no pissing or shitting himself. No being pissed/shat/spat at. Just personal ew. No degradation/humiliation. Could be failed attempts to degrade him, parried by his noble spirit that just can't be smeared.
He is never fully naked, because that steps both into sexual and degrading stuff.
Comfort is optional.
And in the name of whump, I don't care if that level of resilience, stamina and stoicism is realistic.

Lioret Takes Lynching. Ongoing. Medieval setting. Young man turns himself in to an angry village mob. Stoic, voluntary, compliant, public, mentally torn, suffers with guilt on top of whatever the villagemen do to him, hurt no comfort. TW he did an actual bad thing.
The silent game. Finished. Contemporary. A couple is kidnapped by bf's school wannabe bully, who still very much wanna be. Bully invents a game: for each word spoken by a victim, another victim gets hurt. Bf sacrifices himself. Self sacrifice, voluntary, stoic, defiant, kidnapped, happy ending, romance between the victims, permanent damage to one eye, hurt and comfort.
The Gray Cloak not even shaped in a story, but there are 4 posts already, so yea... Ongoing I guess. Young lord opposes his father and takes whipping instead of the servant. Stoic, self sacrificial, defiant. Parental Whumper, royal whump, medieval whump, whipping, public whump.
