Derek is born more in tune with his wolf side and has always been slightly more feral than the other werewolves in his pack. In this fic I kinda want to explore how that basically makes him more in tune with his surroundings and nature in general. You can choose anything you want. I just want to see the fact that Derek can't grasp any kind of social rules that go beyond small-talk. Also, because I am obsessed by this, I kinda want to see (This is again your decision) werewolves starting not to, you know… not act human-like. Maybe they could give off an uncanny valley like vibe. And Stiles being the only one okay with this. Like his dad's first instinct is to draw his gun when his underage son brings home an ex suspected murderer (Derek is aware of laws and things like that, but, because once again, he is NOT human, doesn't really understand them) and not just because of the whole murder thing, no, no, no. It's because of how he moves and walks. It also gives everyone else a fear factor outside of the whole serial killer thing going around in town. And also because Stiles starts copying behaviour from the were's. Bonus points if everyone is a hater because, well, this is a small town. A hater but not a snitch.

the thing about caring about ableism and fighting for disability rights, is that you can't center it about just your disabilities. i'm not d/Deaf. i still care whether an event has sign interpreters. i don't have photosensitive epilepsy. i still think that strobing lights are 99% of the time totally unnecessary and serve as a needless barrier to photosensitive people. i can transfer to a toilet mostly independently. i still think that public accessible bathrooms should have lifts and adult changing tables in them. you can't stop your disability activism where it stops benefitting you. that's not activism. that's selfishness

I think it's time to exchange "you can only grow when you're uncomfortable" with "you can't grow without sometimes being uncomfortable, but you can't thrive without also experiencing safety and comfort." Getting better isn't supposed to be a process of constant suffering. We shouldn't aim for a state of constant discomfort in the name of growing as a person, and if you're deeply uncomfortable all the time then something is probably really wrong
