GOD BLESS AMERICA. AND HE NAMED EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN COUNTRY
quick selfie 10 seconds before showtime!!
Something that helps
If you blurt out something that you thought would be funny but it comes across as insensitive, just quickly say, “I’m sorry, that was rude, what I meant was…”
If you say something in anger or frustration, take a breath and say, “I’m sorry, that was hurtful, let me rephrase…”
If you say something heartfelt, but it comes across as insincere or ironic, say “That sounds like I’m just saying it, but I’m being truly honest…”
If you accidentally tell the waiter “enjoy your meal” just laugh and say a quick “so sorry, my brain isn’t working today!” and you will most likely get a commiserating chuckle in return.
Most of the time, the other person will accept your apology with no harm done. Sometimes they even insist they understood what you meant the first time and clarification was not needed. At times, maybe they have a right to be upset, but it never hurts to apologize again so they know that you’re taking their feelings into account.
Repeat after me. It’s okay to be bad at conversation. Knowing how to apologize makes it easier.
since spotify wrapped is coming today i just want to bring awareness to the fact that around 86% of the songs on spotify are currently demonetized since spotify decided that tracks with under 1,000 cannot be monetized. not only that the ceo of spotify cashed out $35.8 million dollars in spotify shares in the third quarter of the year and it has been reported that he earns more than the top artists on the platform.
for a platform that claims to support artists, this is outrageous and i hope people realize that an artist who is starting out, cannot make a living out of spotify streams simply because daniel ek and his friends made it worse for the artists trying to start a career. if you wanna support musicians and the possibility for them to get a living wage please follow United Musicians and Allied Workers (UMAW) which are trying to make The Living Wage for Musicians Act a reality so musicians can be paid fairly through streaming platforms and get the cut they deserve.
since this post was made, daniel ek has invested in ai weapons, and ICE ads have been played on the platform. various people are starting to boycott the platform this year (2025) so, again, keep that in mind before posting your spotify wrapped!
turns into a tiny bunny mid conversation so you can't yell at me annnnny more

im a week late to the news but theres a working homestuck mirror up including a mobile friendly version

the search function works and all the panels are there
things we need to address:
gen z men getting pulled into alt-right pipelines through andrew tate, joe rogan, elon musk, jordan peterson etc
the gullibility and stupidity of half the country voting against our collective best interests
the broad effect social media has on public and common good
lazy minds and lack of empathy
outside-country interference (trump and elon’s connections to russia and the amount of bots from other countries spreading misinformation)
the long-term effects of AI and rampant disinformation
reblog this version instead
here’s more
uninformed voters
misogyny and a concerning amount of young women turning to trad life
lack of spirituality. humans for whatever reason need this or else they go crazy at the collective level. i personally am not a fan of religion but religion isn’t the same thing as spirituality. essentially, concern with the soul and self-growth than material things. people are looking for this (hence why so many are turning to guys like jordan peterson) but they are looking in the wrong places and being pulled into regressive ideologies that hurt the people around them rather than enrich the lives of themselves and others
i need everyone to know that community is what will save us all in every single way imaginable. you forming a bond with your neighbour or coworker might help them move house or feel less alone or have the courage to leave an unhealthy living environment. you helping a stranger might provide them with hope. in turn, being able to lean on your community in times of need will save you. your broader bonds with your community are the revolution we need. our society seeks to divide and separate us in so many ways but we are all so much more united in our struggles and joys than you are made to believe. we need to hold onto each other very tightly.
crumb is reminding you that the only way out is through!
Two things to prop up right now:
The ACLU - They’ll do their best to make sure this dumpster fire doesn’t turn into a wildfire.
The Trevor Project - They’ll be fielding a lot of calls, texts, and chats in the next few days and beyond.
if you're waking up like me thinking "where do we even go from here?"
you:
build community & involve yourself locally
learn self sustainability skills
choose kindness
protect others & yourself
join or build a mutual aid group and/or network
find time for small joys (the arts, cooking a meal you love, spending time with loved ones, etc.)
you get to feel all the despair you want in this moment. but tomorrow morning you have to get up and resume the work. pick any of the above options. come up with your own meaningful ways to connect with the people around you so you all have support, no matter what happens in the future. give yourself something good to work towards.
I would say “It’s The Genocide, Stupid!”, but I think 90% of Americans care more about the McDonald’s dollar menu going away
