always thinking about the meowth toikey tweet
den i throw da bones at james
my friend's discord server has a "proof of touch grass" channel where they post pics of them doing regular activities outdoors/in public. i think many online spaces could benefit from such a thing
when i was super depressed - like struggling to eat anything barely able to get out of bed to pee depressed - my good friend asked me every day to send her a picture of me holding a leaf and a picture of a meal i was eating and it helped me significantly
(also, she was never judgey - if my meal was a single potato chip she would simply say good job eating a potato chip today <3 )
which is to say, i agree proof of touch grass is a good idea for online spaces
This kinda required my brain a bit

please vote for tylenol to have her face on a beer can $1 for 1 vote and the donation goes to the baltimore animal rescue and care shelter
TYLENOL HAS MADE IT INTO THE TOP TEN LETS FUCKING GO
VOTE NOW SO WE CAN SEE TYLENOL'S FACE ON BEER CANS IN THE DITCHES BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!
If you all will allow me a moment to analyze the competition as it exists, there's something interesting going on with the numbers.
As we all know, thanks to the support of the good people of Tumblr, Tylenol has experienced a meteoric rise to second place. Even though her competition is stiff, I believe in Tylenol's ability to go the distance.
But let's take a look at the competition:
Elmer seems to be a lovely boy. I have no qualms with Elmer, and think he would look fantastic on a beer can. But what about Elmer's campaigns? Who is the power behind the throne here, and how have they managed to find such breakout success on this competition?
A handful of wealthy donors are trying to buy this competition.
At the end of the day, all donations are good donations here. This is a charity event so every penny earned is going to help animals in need. But it's not lost on me that Elmer's current ranking is thanks entirely to a few individuals with the financial means to put their thumbs on the scale.
Tylenol's donors, comparatively, are small and numerous, mostly $1-10 donations from many passionate believers in what she stands for (autism and pain relief I think).
Overall, the donations tell a very different story than what the base ranking shows you. Elmer is held aloft by just 24 donors and bolstered by a few wealthy patrons, whereas Tylenol has won the hearts of literally hundreds of people. Even the current third place, Abby, owes her ranking to numerous small contributions rather than one or two large ones.
Tylenol is the people's princess.
Tylenol is the people's princess

please read this even if you're not indian. especially if you're not indian.
you've seen the jokes. india is "dirty", indians are "everywhere", why don't they fix their own country. ok. let me tell you why, and what's happening right now while nobody's watching.
first, the history you skipped: britain ruled india for two centuries and drained it. economist utsa patnaik's research estimates around $45 trillion in today's money was taken. the india that got independence in 1947 was one of the poorest countries on earth. every "why is india like this" question starts there. you don't get to profit off a robbery and then mock the crime scene.
now, what's happening RIGHT NOW:
in may the question paper for NEET leaked. that's the national medical entrance exam. over 2.2 million students took it. cancelled. years of studying, families' savings poured into coaching, gone overnight because someone sold the paper. students died by suicide after. these were kids who wanted to be doctors.
and out of that came a protest movement. a gen z group called the cockroach janta party, started by a 30 year old named abhijeet dipke, got 22 million instagram followers within DAYS. they've been doing a sit-in at jantar mantar in delhi demanding education minister dharmendra pradhan resign.
and then there's sonam wangchuk. if you've watched 3 idiots, he's the real engineer the character was based on. built solar schools in ladakh. invented ice stupas so himalayan villages have water. spent his whole life on education. he's 59 and he's been on hunger strike for 17+ days now. reporters went to see him this week and he was too weak to talk. and the troll armies are calling him "anti national" and "foreign funded". a man starving himself for other people's children. that's the thing here, anyone who asks a question is suddenly a traitor.
it's not one incident, it's everywhere you look:
⢠infrastructure worth thousands of crores failing within months of the ribbon cutting. tunnels collapsing in regions where heavy rain is a guarantee, not a surprise.
⢠youth unemployment near 10% for ages 15 to 29, 13.6% in cities. in a country of 1.42 billion where more than half the population is young.
⢠only about the top 3% of indians earn above 10 lakh a year. meanwhile billionaire wealth keeps ballooning and the headlines celebrate it.
⢠manipur burned for over two years. an ethnic conflict, tens of thousands displaced, and the prime minister barely said the word manipur while it happened.
⢠journalists raided. critics' houses bulldozed. activists sitting in jail for years without trial under laws like UAPA. our press freedom ranking has cratered.
⢠even the petrol is a fight now, ethanol blending pushed through while drivers complain about their engines and get no straight answers.
and through all of it, the PM, who came to power on religious polarisation (americans, sound familiar?), travels abroad for photo ops and has not held one single open press conference in over a decade. not one.
what i'm asking:
if you're not indian: share this. our media mostly won't cover any of it because the big outlets are owned by the same billionaires the government serves. the only reason wangchuk's fast is getting any coverage is people refusing to look away.
if you ARE indian: speak up even if you're comfortable. especially if you're comfortable. join the protests. add to this, correct me, translate it. staying quiet is a choice when nothing in this post touches your life.
india is not "dirty". india was robbed, and it's being robbed again, from the inside this time. but it's also the country where a 59 year old will starve for strangers' kids and 22 million young people will rally behind a party literally named after cockroaches, because cockroaches survive everything.
we can still save her. but only loudly.
reblog. share. don't scroll past.
The movement, which began as a satirical protest, has evolved into a nationwide challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government.
Supporters of India's youth-led Cockroach movement said Tuesday they will continue their protest in New Delhi, refusing to leave their sit-in site a day after police used tear gas and batons to disperse thousands of them as they tried to march toward Parliament. Hundreds of protesters camped at Jantar Mantar, a designated protest site, under heavy police presence, saying they would stay until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns over alleged failures in India's examination system. "We are going to continue our protest," said Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, which emerged just two months ago. The movement, drawing students, professionals and families, marks a rare public challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's government in its third term, reviving criticism over its handling of dissent and its use of force to respond to protests. [...] Sona Bisht, a 20-year-old student who was part of the protest, said the confrontation strengthened her resolve. "If the government thinks that doing this with Gen Z, they can stop us, then that won't happen. We are here talking about education, talking about securing our future. And till the time our demands are not met, we will not move from here," she said.
"Definitions developed thus far about youth, like the Gen Z narrative, have largely been linked to roles attributed by the dominant system. The rulers have invented a whole range of terms ā rebellious, irresponsible, apolitical, extremist, consumerist ā not to understand youth, but to neutralize it. They know as well as we do that whoever wins over the youth wins over society. [...] Thus the question is not whether youth is powerful, but in whose interest this power is directed. Todayās uprisings ā such as those in Nepal, Bangladesh, Madagascar, Indonesia, Kenya, Morocco, and beyond ā demonstrate that youth continues to emerge as a decisive actor. Young women like Deniz Ciya have proven this with their lives. These uprisings are not expressions of generational temperament. These āGen Z uprisingsā are expressions of a social force confronting structural crisis inherent in the current system. [...] Recent youth uprisings ā whether in the form of environmental justice protests, labor movements, or uprisings against authoritarian governments ā are proof that youth worldwide are not only responding to a set of circumstances; they are consciously and collectively rejecting the narratives that seek to define them. Thus, it is crucial to analyze what transpired, and draw lessons from these uprisings, particularly in the context of building a global youth democratic confederalism. For the power of youth movements is interconnected, despite being geographically distant." ā "Beyond "Gen Z": Defending Revolutionary Youth Spirit" by LĆŖgerĆ®n
"The youth in general, and especially the young women, are the spark of every revolution. We canāt look at the history and found a revolution without the youth. We are a fundamental factor. We should be aware of this reality, we should take conscience of our historical role. By doing this we will provide ourselves with a plan that will allow us the unity of action and objectives. The Youth should not be condemned to be a slave of the capitalist system. [...] If we reject the labels and mentalities imposed by the system, taking consciousness as Internationalist Youth in a global level and organizing ourselves, is there someone who can stop us?" ā "The youth is the spark of every revolution" by LĆŖgerĆ®n.
Its been a month since the last time I went on this same tangent but neural networks, their history, their potential, and the intentions behind those who pioneered them are actually all really fucking incredible and cool and it cannot be emphasized enough how unfairly they've been perverted by capitalism right now. Some of you think you understand that but I still see you very quick to dismiss that there was ever any merit to the technology at all.
The data centers aren't needed for it to exist, or even for it to be used for entertainment or novelty. The data centers are because it's being crammed into a billion times more than that, because they're inserting it into literally everything several billion people are using every second of every day.
I remember years ago reading about how excited medical researchers were, because they created one of those that scanned like, 20,000 healthy scans of tissue, and a thousand scans of unhealthy tissue, and they started feeding it scans of tissue and it would identify healthy from unhealthy tissue with a staggeringly high accuracy rate? I remember it was being touted as a medical breakthrough.
This is still advancing as far as I know. Picking things out from sets is one thing that it's best at!
But there's a downside we unfortunately all could have guessed, too, which is that actual doctors using ai assistance become more careless and lazy at doing it themselves.
https://archive.ph/whVMI
...On the other hand, though, pretty much all medical work has BEEN understaffed, pretty much always, and the staff they have is therefore constantly over-worked, right?
Virtually everyone is overworked in all industries. That's...the original reason we wanted robots.
So I have to wonder, like, is it also possible the human's "20% drop in effectiveness" is just what it looks like when something else can shoulder what was already unhealthy burden? Was the average doctor doing 20% more than the human brain and body was really comfortable handling? Would their personal efficiency have also similarly dropped a bit if they just had more human help, too?
This has still been a net positive where it's been implemented, with the combination of computer and human saving more lives together, but when lives are on the line we obviously still want both of those at their best.
Deltarune is Shinto
In Shintoism Deities, Spirits and Yokai are everywhere but they live in a parallel world that overlaps with ours. Same basic place but not in the same place if that makes sense. Sort of like How Dark Worlds arenāt simply alternate worlds but a different layer of our world. Everything translates but itās also different.
Theyāre everywhere and even if they donāt physically manifest in our world the beings in Shinto belief still work from beyond they veil. A Rock that fell but didnāt crush a home is a spirit that made the decision to dodge your home for example.
This also happens in Deltarune the blog posts and even some rare mentions within the game itself mention how sometimes weird coincidences simply happen with some items. Spamton being in communication with both Noelle and Dess. Noelle encountering Friend through her game and Friend interacting back. Tenna always putting on the right shows and programs for the family.
Every Darkener remembers their life as an item but also had a life beyond the Light World. Entire histories happened within their own world in parallel to where they were in the Light World.
Theirs Spirits beyond the human world and exist in Shinto and this is true in Deltarune too. This is made clear with Chapter 3 and 4 because to Darkeners of Nature signed contracts with Tenna to stay where they were. Tenna took control of Darkeners native to the woodlands and made them a part of his domain like Darkeners of Water.
In the Church where Darkeners of more spiritual matters live you can see those same water spirits in their true forms. Deltarune is very Shinto in its world building even if Toby Fox didnāt intend that to be the case.
I feel very validated in this post and I didnāt even expect to be so Validated so quickly. Darkeners are basically Yokai and Spirits
READ IT!!! READ THIS POST!!!!!
here's two articles about how JK Rowling just posted on X an upskirt photo of Freda Wallace, a transgender woman, after deadnaming her and misgendering her repeatedly online.
The wealthy author escalated a social media spat that resulted in posting a photo from a 2023 event at the Institute of Economic Affairs in
Rowling posted the picture taken from below because the trans woman, she said, was "refusing to debate me."
Thank you for posting without the fucking destiel meme
So in summation; Rowling demanded access to a womanās time and when she couldnāt get it she retaliated by posting an upskirt image of her and called her fat, and some of her fans even went āI think I can see her genitalsā.
She literally went ādebate me! Debate me!ā Over and over like the grifter she is and when she couldnāt get what she wanted and when ānoā wasnāt enough she resorted to retaliatory sex-pestery, posting an image of somebodyās body with intention to shame and embarrass and spawn more waspish tittering from her internet followers.
Rowling is trash and this is disgraceful behavior, in case anyone has forgotten.
She had also claimed Freda "deserved" this sexual harassment because of what she was wearing... You know... The same excuse used over and over to try and justify rape.
No person (trans or otherwise) is obliged to debate anyone for any reason. When they refuse to do so you should take it as a 'no.'
One would THINK that a 'figurehead of women's rights' would understand that 'no means no'... But according to JKR it apparently mean 'sexually harass and verbally abuse them on twatter.'
apparently shaq was using his sponsorship with sora to make pictures and videos of his imagined romantic life with marilyn monroe and the children they would have togetherā¦ā¦. and then posting it where the entire world, including his real actual children, can see it š« š« š«
no bc how else are you supposed to react when your dad is proudly presenting a clip of himself and a dead celebrity, frozen in time, creating an ostensibly perfect nuclear family on valentineās dayā¦ā¦ and tagging papa johnās in itā¦ā¦..
