I CANNOT WAIT to hear what you think about this trailer !!!
I literally cannot breathe! Like, hyperventilating sobs. 😭
It's been out, what, three hours? I've watched it, at least, 50 times already, and I'm still shaking so badly I can hardly type!
There's.....sooooooo much to unpack!
First of all, this beef is going to be.....something else. We've been in the trenches with that monstrous depiction of Lestat for almost four years and now? We have Lestat coming out and saying things like "never fucking happened" and saying it's "lies" and saying he's doing a "rewrite." And I mean.....that's more brazen and harsh than I ever thought they'd do. That is, given what they did in S1. Now combine all that on top of the fact Louis has been in contact with Lestat for years at this point, and he still yet didn't tell him anything about their past. It's just going to be so brutal and so vicious and so heartbreaking for them both.
Also? Daniel telling Lestat no one seems to give a shit about him?
Well, Louis does, but Lestat doesn't know that. So just yank my heart out right now. 💔
Secondly, remember when I said back during S1 that Lestat making Claudia watch Charlie burn was him showing her the witches' place?
Again, just yank my heart out. It would be less painful.
Gosh. I fucking love him! He's so sassy and so funny, and I was telling a dear moot that I hoped we finally get to see this side of him, and it's delivering beyond my dreams! Also this statement is so poignant and cutting, because YES. Lestat was just a boy. He had hopes and dreams. He just wanted to be good and do good and be loved for himself. And yet, by a cruel twist of fate, he was ripped from his life and turned into a monster against his will. Multiple times. By multiple people. See his comment about a "rewrite." ^^ (Fuck! That is going to be so bitter!)
Remember when Sam said at the 92NY panel that we have not met the real Lestat? Yeah. 🥹😭♥️
Third. Magnus. Abducting him from his bed.
This.....is going to be terrifying. This shot literally made my stomach jolt in nausea, and I don't know how I will endure the entire episode.
When it's all said and done, people will realize this was never fanon fodder for their kinks. It was always a horrifying, brutal (NONCONSENSUAL!) assault that left Lestat severely traumatized and damaged forever. He never fully gets over this because, even up to Blood Communion, he is still suffering PTSD attacks as a result of what Magnus did to him.
Gabrielle has never been fanon fodder for their kinks either.
Fourth. Oh, Louis. *blissfully sighs* 😍
I've wanted to see Louis viciously killing people since S1 when he gleefully gutted Fenwick. Give me an entire season of this? I will be a puddle on the floor.
Fifth. Finally. A proper framing of what constitutes a vampire fight, because these are not humans. They are predators. They fight like animals.
Also, given we know via Lestat's outfit that this night is what results in him battered and collapsed over the toilet?
I want to note one thing —
Look at his face. He is badly beaten and injured in this fight.
And given the main motive for doing all this is to protect Louis? Given the status of his relationship with Louis at this point?
This is going to hurt like hell. Lestat would do anything for Louis, but he doesn't even know Louis cares about him at all. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
This part. *hitching sobs*
This part fucking killed me! Because this is Lestat melting at being shown kindness and appreciation and love instead of revulsion and rejection for one rare moment in time in his entire existence.
It's actually so serious right now. So so so serious. Lestat feeling like this is the only thing that gives him any worth? YANK. MY. HEART. OUT. 💔
In all seriousness, how on earth am I going to survive seven hours of this? My insides are already a jittering mess at a mere two minutes! 😅
I'm just so happy right now, guys. It feels like a hard-earned reward after endless suffering.
Lestat! My baby! OMG! He's here! 😭💕
