the issue with writing for yourself is that you will get sucked into rereading your own fic over and over and pretend it’s “editing,” but really you’re just reading because it’s exactly what you want to read. because you wrote it. for you.
and then you will be like why does this asshole never finish anything god
I couldn't figure out why this was a problem until I got to the end where you don't get to the end.
my secret author sin is that when i ramble too much i just pretend its on purpose and the character is getting worked up/lost in thought

i’ve always had this idea that the fatui have “spark soldiers” which are foot soldiers who don’t have much potential, (either too old or too young or another reason) and they get put in dangerous positions in tactical missions, they’re expendable and not expected to survive (they’re the boiling oil) (they do their job and are extinguished quickly, like sparks) and maybe childe was one but he just kept surviving (or maybe not, that’s just a bonus thought)
and tagging on to that i have the idea of childe meeting klee and hearing that she’s a spark knight and he assumes it’s the same thing and he’s horrified and perhaps hijinks ensue
