Imagine an AU where Eddie and Chris are werewolves. Chris becomes deeply attached to Buck, a human. He imagines this is what it feels like to have a mom. Getting picked up from school, going grocery shopping, and helping in the kitchen to cook. The tenderness and love. Everything his friends describe in a mom is exactly what Buck is to him. He especially takes care of the Diaz boy's werewolf tendencies well, too.
After the lawsuit, when Eddie makes it clear he doesn't want to talk to Buck for a while, he pops in one night while Carla is there and Eddie is on shift so he can speak with Chris and explain he won't be around as much, but that he still loves him, and if there is ever an emergency, he can always reach out. He gives Chris a big hug, and Chris starts crying. He tries to speak, wants to ask Buck why he's leaving, but can't get any words out at all.
Buck turns to talk to Carla, thanking her for letting him see Chris one last time.
And Chris has a meltdown. He hears those words as Buck is leaving. Buck is leaving him. Buck won't be here anymore.
Buck is leaving for good.
No.
No, no, no, no!
Chris calls out to Buck, and the naive human turns around. His eyes glisten. He steps closer, and Chris raises his hands up. He wants to be held, so Buck picks him up and holds him tight. Tucks him into the side of his neck as he soothes and pats the boy's back. He doesn't see the boy's eyes flash red. Not entirely red. Red but a strange swirl of color mixed in.
"It's going to be alright Chri--ah!" Buck gasps as Chris bites down on his neck. "Ch-Chris!" Buck gasps out, patting the boy's back to get him to let go-but it only makes the boy cling on harder. Chris latches on, his claws dig into Buck's skin.
You're not leaving me!
Carla shouts as Buck slides down on the ground, still careful of Chris. His body feels weak, and the burning sensation runs through his veins.
"Chr-Chris. P-please-" he gasps. But Chris doesn't listen. Chris is crying, shaking his head, and causing Buck pain. The man whimpers.
Meanwhile, Carla calls Eddie immediately. She panics, frantically telling him what happened. Eddie freaks out, and the 118 rolls out straight to Eddie's house.
The man bursts in, and the sight is horrific. There's a lot of blood. Buck's entire left side is drenched, and he's twitching and spacing out, and Chris is growling and not moving an inch.
"Oh my god," Chim says in horror. Hen and Bobby stare in sheer horror..
"Buck?" Bobby calls out. "Kid?" No response.
"Chris--mijo, you need to let go," Eddie tells him gently. Chris latches down harder, earning a gasp of pain from Buck. "Chris, buddy, Buck is losing blood. If you bite down any harder--shit," Eddie curses. He spots Chris's eyes flash red. Red and crying.
"He presented--I thought you said he won't present until his next birthday?" Chim says carefully.
"In extreme circumstances, when they're in distress, young werewolves can present early.
"Carla, what happened?" Bobby asks.
"I-Buck was begging to see and talk to Chris, and Chris had been begging to see Buck. Buck wanted to explain to Chris that he wouldn't be around as much because of what...happened cause of the lawsuit," Carla says. "He just wanted to explain that he wasn't going to just disappear from his life, but Chris was crying, and when Buck picked him up to hug him, that was when he latched on."
"Shit," Eddie says. "Shit, shit, shit! Chris, you need to let go! If you don't, you're going to seriously hurt Buck. We want Buck safe, right?" Eddie says gently.
Chris turns his head slightly to look at his dad. He sniffs and nods.
"Then please, let him go." Eddie pleads.
Chris blinks, the red in his eyes finally disappearing. He finally lets go of Buck's neck, giving the wound one good lick to heal.
"He was g-going to leave me-" Chris's cries. "Just like mom left. Now he won't leave me anymore."
Eddie freezes. He sees Chris's eyes flash again.
"Hen. What color are his eyes?" Eddie asks. The paramedic steps closer and lets out a breath.
"Not the Alpha red," Hen says. She tries to step closer to inspect Buck's bite wound, but Chris tenses and growls.
"What did you mean by he won't leave me anymore, buddy?" Chim asks quietly. He already knows the answer.
"Buck is my Buck. I have dad, and I finally get to have a mom," Chris sniffles. "I'm not letting mom go. Buck is staying here with us."
"So you turned him..." Hen says.
"...Into an omega," Bobby says.
