Azune Nayar deserves the biggest ice cream in all the realms of Aramán and he'd better fucking get it.

It's heartbreaking to see how differently everyone is treating Demodus and Azune while they're essentially around the same age. Murray and Bolaire and almost anyone who knows them is calling Demodus a child and trying to shield him from the danger and evil of the world while simultaneously pushing Azune forward into the danger just because he's good at what he does.

Don't get me wrong, I love my little gnome dude. I love all his weird shenanigans and over the top magic and he should absolutely be protected and allowed to do what kids do. And so should Azune. But just because he was raised as a fighter and fought in a war when he wasn't even as tall as the sword he was holding, and just because he kept such a good facade of the capable arcane marshall Lieutenant, it's almost as if they'd forgotten he is STILL so young, still very much a kid.

Just because we're good at something doesn't mean that we enjoy doing it all the time. And just because we keep the habit of hiding our struggles doesn't mean that we have the mental capacity to handle it.

Azune had to step up and play the part of an adult because everyone needs him to be useful to the cause, but in moments of need he still instinctively looks towards the ACTUAL adult figures in his life for confirmation, guidance, protection and support. Because deep down he is vulnerable and confused and sometimes just needs someone to give him a hug and tell him he's doing a good job. We can all tell he himself just wanted to be treated like a kid for once, to experience a fraction of the childhood that he's never got.

Murray'd better keep her promise and buy him every single ice cream cone in the entire city because that boy deserves that and so much more.
