tubi is one of our greatest warriors in the fight against streaming services costing a fortune for mediocre content. tubi has the most insane collection of movies you will ever encounter all for free. it has cult classics and questionable lifetime movies and movies that nobody except like three people on the planet have ever seen. tubi has movies that doesn’t exist. like if you just thought of a movie one day but never made it and no one ever made it it would somehow still exist on tubi. one day i will log onto tubitv dot com and i will see terribly inappropriate, overly complex, and strange on there. and i won’t even be surprised.
Tubi is where I found this gem:
wait this wasn’t a “poob has it for you” bit?
tubi doesnt have what youre looking for but it does have a lot of things you would never have thought to
tomorrow im really gonna give it my nothing
As a Billy Joelogist-
okay say what you will about Owen Lars (bc I know no one is talking smack about Saint and Saviour Beru Lars), but that 'Anakin was a smuggler' line is genius.
Like, Luke your father was a drug smuggler and so we don't talk about him. Your father was a drug runner and he crossed the line from Good Person to criminal and drug peddler and brought shame on our family. Luke, your father was a drug dealer and he was involved in shady things and it really hasn't been that long and people are probably after him to this day and we have to keep our heads down and stay safe. Luke, your father made it so that we have to pay the consequences of his actions. Made it so that you, Luke Skywalker, can't sing with the stars that call your name because of what he did whilst racing among them.
Luke, your father was a bad man who did bad things, but they were choices, and you can make different ones. You share his last name but you don't share his greed. Luke, addiction is genetic but your father wasn't a drug addict. He was a drug smuggler. He chose to became part of a system that exploits pain and fear, but his decision isn't running through your bones. Luke, you're kind and good and have reached nineteen, on a planet made to break things, whole and gentle.
Luke, my love, you're better than him.
It's because you're always on that cursed tome
The doom scroll, if you will
A relationship works when both partners are willing to sacrifice their old bad habits, let go of their ego, and respect each other at all times..
FREE MY ETHNIC GIRLIES FROM RHINOPLASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR NOSE BUMP IN FINE LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watching all the POTC movies has made me realize how much Pintel and Ragetti are basically the best part BY FAR of the entire series. Like these two characters are introduced as if theyre the most threatening evil pirates in the whole world, with the whole "Ello Poppet" scene, and then immediately after become comic relief. They switch sides at the drop of a hat. They literally stumble upon every major plot point by sheer dumb luck. One of them has a wooden eye, and that wooden eye turns out to be a fucking key to a magic spell. They've got one brain cell to share between them and one of them uses it for schemes, the other uses it for philosphy.
I just love those two dumb dirty assholes so much
every forest is enchanted btw. stop being stupid and look with your eyes
i think we are long overdue for a game that does the reverse of 90s first person shooters and actively makes fun of the player for picking the hard difficulty
heres kinda what i mean
"A hotdog is a sandwich": tired, overdone, everyone is already solidly entrenched in their current opinion
"Sauerkraut is a coleslaw": bold, fresh, likely to instigate at least one fist-fight at your next barbecue
And we're off!

text: [ “Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5000 years.” ]
And they're absolutely specifically pushing it, make no mistake. It's not just a matter of "it's there, it's convenient, so people are going to take the path of the least resistance", but it is a legitimate and concerted effort on the part of these companies to get people to outsource all these things to their models.
They're preying on insecurities to do it. Yes, you can write an essay - but can you write a good essay, they ask you. Do you not want to improve your output? Do you not want people to think of you as competent and very clever? Why go through the mortifying process of failing and failing and failing until you succeed if you can just skip the "learning" part of doing, and simply generate a ready-made product?
I'm preaching to the choir here obviously but it's a concerning thing to witness nonetheless. My kid is 6 next week and I've been teaching her that failing at things is morally neutral and in fact necessary even before the advent of AI, but it's becoming ever more important that we teach the kids that criticism and failure and discomfort aren't necessarily bad things, but just a part of the growth process.
