The seal of Samhain is obviously a test from Heaven, to see how much Dean's moral compass is compromised. Would he accept right away to wipe out a town and kill all its inhabitants to prevent a seal from being broken? Would he try a little but end up calling Heaven's help to keep the seal closed?

(There are hundreds of seals to trigger the Apocalypse. Heaven can afford to protect this one if it shows the Sword is ready to trust/obey them.)

But then Dean doesn't. He wants to save the people here and he does his best to and the seal is broken but he saves this town and he doesn't regret it.

So Heaven take a step back and wonder how they can break him…

I was loading bullets this afternoon and I coudn't help but ponder where the Winchesters get their ammo from.

Are there hunter-friendly gun shops with specialty rounds? Do they cart bulky loading equipment and components around in Baby's trunk? (between handguns, shotguns and rifles that's going to be a lot of different presses, projectiles, primer sizes etc)

Do they dig silver bullets out of monster corpses to be re-cast? Because those things are not going to be cheap.

Fuck I hadn’t even properly thought about casting. There’s another bulky piece of equipment to carry around. Melting pot and moulds of several different calibres.

At least they probably wouldn’t have to do it often. I doubt they’d go through that many rounds in a week/month
