โงเฌ Martin Edwards Park x ๐ณ๐ฒ๐บ!reader
๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ง๐จ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ: You thought you could survive exam season on your own, but Martin has other plans when he discovers just how much you've been hiding yourself from him.

He noticed how it changed to short and not the usual silly texts:
The first thing Martin noticed was your texts.
Your messages you had normally sent him were all over the place in the best way possible.
Blurry pictures of things you found pretty that you swear looked better in person and extremely long voice notes that were just you complaining about one of your grumpy teachers. And yet again more pictures of coffee with the caption saying how you swear it's your last cup for the day. (It never was)
"Studying."
"Busy."
"Sorry, I'll text later."
"I'm fine."
To him it started feeling like every conversation he had with you came to an end before it even started.
He kept trying to convince himself to not overthink your words or read too much into it. He knew how important your exam season was for you, he also knew how big of an impact it had one you.
He remembered how you had warned him a few days before your exams, "If I disappear for a bit, don't take it personally. I'll probably be drowning in notes."
He had that usual gentle grin on his expression as he said, "Then I'll come rescue you."
"Please don't. I actually need to pass."
So he respected your choice and gave you the needed space you wanted, though he kept sending you little reminder texts. Reminders like:
"Don't forget to eat."
"Get some sleep tonight, okay?"
"Drink some water."
You replied to the texts with a simple, "I will!", but sometimes you only reacted with a heart. Whether you actually listened to his sweet reminders was another story he didn't know.
During the exam season, your daily routine had become very questionable. You had coffee early in the morning as soon as you woke up, coffee in the afternoon and when you finally remembered you were hungry, you only ate instant noodles.
You kept repeating to yourself that you just needed to push for a few more days and you'll be able to rest all you want after exams.
You barely slept. It had become optional, ranging from four to one hour. Sometimes you barely even slept more than 30 minutes.
When your first headache came, you choose to simply just ignore it. Then your throat started to itch and slight dizziness started form each time you stood.
Your sweater hung loosely off your shoulder, your hair up in the messiest bun imaginable and there was noticeable dark circles under your eyes that your light makeup couldn't hide.
After more than one weeks apart he finally saw you again. He decided to surprise you by stopping by after one of your exams.
His smile faded almost immediately as you opened your apartment door and his eyes landed on you. He noticed how you tried your best to keep your smile high, but he could see the tiredness in your eyes as you mumbled, "...Hey."
You could see the concern on his expression, "You look exhausted."
You let out the smallest laugh he's ever heard from you, "I've just been studying."
"I can tell." He mumbled as he slowly reached up and brushed a few single loose strands of hair from your pretty face.
As he brushed the strands away, his fingers slightly touched your forehead, making his frown grow bigger, "...You're so warm."
"I'm okay." You immediately sighed, your voice was a little shaky as you talked.
"You've got a fever." He protested, the concern in his voice growing by the second.
"It's probably nothing." He quickly rested the back of his hand against your forehead just to make sure.
It was most definitely not nothing and he knew you were downplaying your condition, "How long have you felt like this?"
He could hear the hesitation in your voice, "...A day or two."
He sighed as he stepped inside your apartment, he looked around and noticed how your textbooks were on almost every surface.
Sticky notes plastered across the coffee table with a few empty coffee cups and energy drinks. He also saw how the curtains were still closed even though it was almost 5pm. His eyes traveled back to yours, "When did you last eat something that wasn't instant noodles?"
You blinked up at his question, slightly taken aback, "...I don't remember."
His heart ached at your answer, it hurt him more than he thought it would.
He sighed and made his way to your kitchen, hoping to find something for you to eat.
Your fridge was almost completely empty, only being filled with a half full carton of milk and some yogurt that was definitely expired.
There wasn't really anything else in there. He let out the smallest sigh before closing the fridge door, "You've really been running yourself into the ground."
"I've just been busy." You tried your best to hide the yawn that followed but failed.
You tried to clear your throat, only for it to turn into one massive coughing fit and you instinctively turned your back on him, trying to hide it from him. It didn't work and as the coughing finally stopped, you slightly started swaying on your feet, your dizziness returning with a new force.
"I know." His voice stayed gently, "...I know, baby, but being busy... doesn't mean you stop taking care of yourself."
Martin, without thinking, reached for you, steadying you on your feet before you could further lose your balance.
"I've got you." He softly whispered, the concern not leaving his tone anytime soon.
"I'm fine." You said trying to convince yourself more than trying to convince him.
"You almost fell over." He tried to reason with you, "I stood up too fast."
The look he gave you was enough evidence that he wasn't buying your excuses, not for one single second, "I think you need to rest."
"I still have another exam." You whined out in slight anger, but not at him. You didn't even know at what your were angry at.
"And you'll do better on it if you're actually functioning." Martin tried his best to convince you, desperation forming in his tone.
You let out a sigh and rubbed your eyes, "I can't afford to fall behind, Martin"
"I know." He he said as he took a few steps closer to you, "But you also can't keep pushing yourself like this."
There was something in his voice, he was so calm and patient. It started to make the wall you'd been building up crack into tiny little pieces.
"I just..." You swallowed, "I feel like if I stop now, I'm wasting time."
"Rest isn't wasted time."
Your eyes stung a little at his words, "I've worked so hard."
"I know you have." He answered almost immediately.
"What if it still isn't enough?" He heard the little choke in your voice.
He didn't rush to give you a respond, he just simply pulled you into a tight hug, his arms wrapped around your waist.
You almost instantly melted against his chest, a slight hum leaving your lips.
Martin caressed your hair softly as he murmured, "I don't expect you to be perfect," he pulled away to look at you, "And the people who care about you don't either."
Before you could stop them, your tears started flowing down your cheeks, slightly making a mess of Martin's shirt.
The stress that was caused by weeks of preparing, the sleepless nights and the pressure you've been secretly carrying on your own had finally caught up with. And the worst part is that it all came at once. Martin knew he couldn't take all your problems away, though he wished he could, so he just simply held you tightly against his chest. One of his hands slowly rubbed circles on your lower back until he noticed as your breathing finally started to settle again.
As you eventually pulled away you, you slightly sniffed and quietly laughed at yourself, "Sorry."
"What for?" He asked confused, his own laugh slipping through.
"You've barely seen me in almost two weeks." You sighed with a slight pout forming.
In response he gave you his charming, sweet smile, "I figured exam season had kidnapped you."
" I'm sorry..." You whispered out again softly.
Martin sighed, "You don't have to apologize for struggling."
You looked down at your hands, your fingers slightly picking at each other, "I should've told you I wasn't feeling well."
He softly bumped your shoulder with his, "You probably should've." He gave you another gentle smile, "But we'll work on that next time."
After a few minutes, your legs felt unsteady again and before you could protest against him, he slipped an arm around your waist, "Come on."
"I can walk." You quietly whispered, a slight giggle leaving you.
"I know." He paused at your reaction before continuing, "But humour me?"
You slightly rolled your eyes with a tiny smile forming, "...Fine."
Martin gently settled you into your bed, adjusting the blankets around you and opened the curtains just enough to let some light in. He also opened one of your windows for some fresh air before whispering, "I'll be right back."
About thirty minutes passed when you woke up to the smell of your favorite soup filling the apartment.
He smiled as he saw your sleepy figure making your way towards him, "There you are!"
He must have went shopping for some of the ingredients.
You sleepily wandered into the kitchen to see Martin stirring a pot with his sleeves rolled up and quietly humming to himself.
"I was checking if I dreamed you." You laughed a little as you hugged him from behind.
He let out a little chuckle as he felt your hands wrap around his waist, "Nope. Still here, baby."
After you had taken some of the medicine he brought you, you took a seat on the couch since of the big mess on all the other tables. But you did notice how the mess wasn't that big anymore.
Martin sat beside you with a warm bowl of soup he balanced on his hands, "Here."
"I can manage." You giggled a little, the sound brining a big smile to Martin.
"I know." He said with a fake stern tone but held out the spoon full of soup anyway, "...But you look like you could use a break."
You finally gave in with a tiny smile, "Just this once."
He grinned like a idiot, "I'll take it."
Martin was already awake next to you before you could even have called to him.
That night, your fever got worse as you woke up coughing. Your body shivering despite being covered with 2 fluffy and tick blankets.
"You should be asleep," you mumbled, your voice slightly raspy.
"Hey." His voice was soft as he handed you a class of water.
He waited for you to catch your breath before swapping the now-warm cloth on your forehead for a new cool one.
"So should you." He said with a smile tugging on his lips.
"...Fair point." You mumbled, laying back onto the bed, a smile forming on your lips, before you started slightly coughing again.
"You know," he said quietly after a while, "you scared me a little."
"I'm sorry." You avoided his eyes, feeling guilty about not asking him for help earlier.
"I don't need an apology." He reached over to you, brushing your hair back.
"I just need you to let me help before it gets this bad." He said quietly, his own voice getting slightly small.
You quickly nodded, "I'll try."
He gently smiled down at you, "That's all I'm asking, baby."
You fell asleep with your head resting on his shoulder.
He didn't move an inch, absentmindlessly he brushed your hair away from your eyes every so often as the lose strands of hair fell down. He checked your temperature now and then just to reassure himself that you're doing better.
He glanced back down at you and smiled to himself and quietly whispered, "You've done enough for today,"
"So just rest."
And for the first time in a few weeks, you actually did, even though your exams were far from over, but right now you didn't care.

The first thing that caught your eye about him wasn't his fluffy black cat ears that poked through his slight messy hair.
Or his long tail that tightly curled around one of his legs.
It wasn't even the pair of golden brown eyes that cautiously watched every person that walked past his room.
It was how, gentle and quiet he seemed.
As the other hybrids enthusiastically approached the glass whenever someone stopped by their room, Jo didn't move an inch.
He stayed curled up in the corner of his room with a soft cream blanket wrapped around his shoulders and every now and then his ears twitched a little from the loud noises from the shelter. He didn't get up once to greet anyone who passed.
There was a small card beside his room that simply read:
Name: Asakura Jo
Hybrid: Black Cat
Age: 21
Personality: Gentle. Quiet. Affectionate once comfortable.
You gently knelt down in front of the glass and you noticed how his ears flicked towards you as you spoke, "...Hi."
His eyes slowly glanced up to meet yours. You simply sat down on the floor, instead of calling him over with the usual high pitched voice.
Your voice was soft as you finally spoke up again, "You don't have to come over," he looked up at you slightly, " I just wanted to keep you company."
A few minutes passed as people walked passed behind you. You could hear someone laugh way to loud in another room behind you.
Then you heard soft footsteps inching closer to you. When you had finally looked up, you saw how Jo had slowly shuffled closer to you until he was sitting only a few feet away from the glass.
His black tail was still tightly wrapped around his thigh as his ears slowly lowered, but he hadn't turned away from you like he had with others.
A shelter worker who was walking by softly smiled before whispering, "I've never seen him come over to anyone before."
ใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธ
The papers for Jo's adoption were signed by you less than an hour later.
The drive back to your apartment was incredibly quiet as Jo was sitting in the passenger seat.
He was wearing a white, slightly oversized hoodie the shelter had given him. He's hands were nervously twisting the sleeves of the hood as he glanced over at you every few seconds, before looking away quickly.
You were slightly worried by his actions, "...Are you okay?"
He only gave you a slight nod.
"...Scared?" you asked him again, quickly looking over at him for a split second before focusing on the road again. You only got another tiny nod.
As you stopped at a red light, you tried your best to make him a bit more comfortable, "I'm not going to force you to do anything."
His ears slightly perked up at your words.
"You don't have to hug me."
"You don't have to talk."
"You don't have to be the perfect hybrid."
You sighed before continuing, "You just have to exist."
For the first time Jo's tail gave the smallest little wag at your confession.
ใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธ
Your apartment wasn't the biggest place on earth but it was warm and cozy.
There were fluffy blankets everywhere he looked, with the prettiest plants by the windows.
The couch also looked ridiculously comfortable.
Jo slowly and cautiously stepped inside, "...This is..."
"Home." you quickly mumbled to him, locking the door behind you both.
He only stared at you, slightly surprised, "...Yours?"
"Ours." you quickly corrected him, making his ears stand upright almost immediately.
You had spent the first few weeks learning each other.
Jo had learned how you always hummed while making breakfast for the both of you.
You learned that Jo absolutely loved watching the birds fly by through the window.
He recently discovered which blanket was your favorite out of all your blankets and you discovered that he secretly loved when you teased him.
Jo became obsessed with sitting in the sunny patches on the floor.
You'd walk into the living room to find him stretched out like a spoiled kitten with his eyes closed and a comfortable smirk on his expression.
"...Comfortable?" You asked him as you walked out of the kitchen towards to the couch.
"Mhm." he softly hummed, his tail wrapping around his thigh.
"So you're stealing my sunlight now?" you joked with him, a pleasant smile forming on your lips as you crossed your arms.
"...It's mine." he grumbled, slowly flipping over onto his stomach.
"You've become awfully confident." Your words made a tiny smile form on his lips as he whispered, "...Maybe."
ใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธ
Jo had followed you everywhere! Literally everywhere...
Need something in the kitchen?
Jo's right behind you.
Putting away some laundry?
Jo's right next to you.
Bathroom?
Ears poking around the corner, making you laugh, "...Jo."
"...Hm?" He hummed, finally looking around the corner.
"You know I'm just brushing my teeth." you giggled at the slight pout on his lips.
"I know."
"So why are you standing there?" you asked him curiously as you put away your toothbrush, closing the cabinet door.
"...Just watching."he quietly mumbled in response.
"...You're so clingy." You said laughing without really thinking about what you said.
You watched as his ears flattened dramatically and his quiet voice whispered out , "...Sorry..."
His apology immediately made you feel guilty, "No no."
You quickly made your way towards him and gently scratched behind one of his fluffy ears, "I think it's really cute."
You felt as his entire body froze at your touch, "...Again?"
You blinked at his question, "Hm?"
"...Can you...do that again?" His voice was so soft and full of nerves. You gently traced your fingers behind his ear once again and the loudest purr you have ever heard filled the room.
The sound of his purring made you both freeze.
He's eyes widened at the sound leaving him, "...I..."
Another soft purr escaped him, making his face burn with a rosy tint, "...Please pretend that didn't happen."
His words made you let out a little giggle, "I didn't know hybrids purred!"
"I don't!" He quickly whined out as a protest.
"You literally are." You laughed out again, finding him extremely adorable.
"...I'm not doing it on purpose though..." He pouted slightly.
After that incident that happened outside of the bathroom, he became addicted to your touch.
Every night after you came back home from work, he'd quietly shuffle towards you while you were reading and would quietly whisper, "...Can I?"
You huffed a little at his question, "You don't even have to ask."
In a split second he layed across your lap, as your fingers would softly scratch behind his ears and his fuzzy tail would wrap around your waist.
And within minutes you would hear the soft purring of your little kitten against your thigh. It started happening every single night.
ใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธ
He had became very protective of you over the next few weeks.
One particular rainy night you had came home exhausted from work, locking the door behind you with a loud sigh and without saying a single word, your bag slipped from your fingers, falling to the ground with a loud thud.
"...Long day?" His voice was soft with admiration laced in his tone, his ears slightly perking up with concern.
"Mhm." You only hummed in response and before you could even sit down, Jo sprinted down the hallway, disappearing from your sight.
You sighed and slumped down on the couch, closing your eyes as you leaned your head against a cushion.
A few minutes later you opened your eyes as you heard Jo scurrying towards you. He had returned with your favorite blanket. He gently draped it over you, before running off again, only to return with the stuffed animal he won for you the time you went to a arcade.
You let out a tiny laugh as he handed you the plushie before running off once again. This time he came back with a cup of hot chocolate and a bag of your favorite candy.
You blinked at the sight in front of you as he sat down next to you, "...Jo."
"Hm?" He glanced up at you, a slight sparkle in his eyes.
"...Did you just build me a comfort nest?" You asked him curiously, a small smile forming.
"...Maybe." He mumbled as he looked down at his hands, his tail giving himself away as it slight sways.
You couldn't keep your laughter in anymore as you watched him being so shy.
ใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธใฐ๏ธ
You've come to a realization that Jo absolutely loves sleeping, but not alone! With you!
At first he always asked you with his shy, shaky voice, "...Can I sleep here?"
But eventually he'd just simply climb into bed beside you as his tail immediately wraps around your leg or your waist and he'd rest his forehead against your shoulder.
"...Comfortable?" You'd ask him while glancing down at him, watching as his eyes blinked with tiredness.
"Mhm."
"...Too close?" You simply asked him with a teasing voice.
"...No." He whined and pulled himself closer to you, humming contently against your arm.
You giggled at his response of him tugging himself closer to you. Not even five minutes later, you heard soft purring coming from the boy clinging to you.
That same night you couldn't fall asleep. You tried your best to quietly slip out of bed and made your way onto your balcony.
You watched as the city lights below you sparked with a certain hue. After only one minute of peace on the balcony, you heard the door sliding open.
You glanced behind you to see Jo carrying one of his hoodies, "...You'll get cold."
You gave him a little smile as you put on the hoodie, "Thank you."
But instead of going back inside, he stood beside you. A little giggle left your lips as you felt his tail gently curl around your wrist.
You've noticed that he always has go have his tail around you, not possessively, but in a way comforting.
His voice made you snap out of your thoughts, "...Can I tell you something?"
"Always." You told him confidently as you looked up at the night sky full of stars.
"...I was scared when you adopted me." You could tell there was slight hesitation in his sleepy voice.
"I know." You whispered as you finally glanced back at him, your eyes full of something he couldn't name.
"...I thought you'd take me back to that scary place." He mumbled softly, looking away from your gaze, his fingers playing with the strings of your hoodie as you turned to him. Your heart ached at his words, your hands reaching for his, "You've never done anything for me to even think about that..."
His eyes didn't leave your intertwined fingers as he spoke up, "I know that now."
He sighed before continuing, "When you said I didn't have to earn being loved..." You've never heard his voice so quiet, "...Nobody had ever said that to me before."
Your grasp on his hands slightly tightened, hoping he wouldn't hear the ache in your voice, "You never have to."
He finally looked up at you, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears, "...Can I tell you something else?"
"Of course." you whispered quietly.
"I think..." He mumbled as a small, shy smile spread across his expression, "...I loved you from the moment you sat outside my room."
Once again a little laugh erupted from you, "Really?"
He gave you a tiny nod, "You were the first person who didn't ask me to perform."
He sighed as he squeezed your hand, "You just...stayed."
He quietly looked at you again before continuing, "And now?"
Jo leaned in towards you until his forehead rested against yours, "...Now you're my favorite person."
You noticed how as he said it, his ears twitched happily and his tail wrapped around your waist once again.
And...
Somewhere between his silent purring, the way he looked at you through his lashes as you hung the stars above you and the warmth of his embrace...
You had realized that adopting Jo, you hadn't just given him a home.
It had given you one too.

The Boy I Swore I Hated - Part 1
Enemies to lovers
Jeon Jungkook x Kim Yn
Summary: Jin is your older brother, and he went on vacation for 4 weeks. He asked Jungkook to look after you, knowing how much you hated him.
Warning: curse words, drinking, cheating (not Jungkook, don't worry), clubbing, jealousy.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Jeon Jungkook. BTS's bad boy.
Girls practically threw themselves at him.
Not you.
You thought he was an arrogant asshole and he knew it.
The first day your older brother, Jin, introduced you to him, you couldn't stand him.
Maybe it was because he constantly treated you like a little kid.
Or maybe it was because every time you started talking to a guy, Jungkook somehow managed to scare him off.
Whatever the reason, the two of you never got along.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
"Y/N, do you remember where I put my passport?" Jin called, tearing apart his bedroom for the hundredth time.
"It's in your travel bag," you answered from the hallway. "And clean your room before you leave. I don't want the house looking like a disaster when my boyfriend gets here."
Jin chuckled. "Oh? I didn't know Jackass was coming over."
"It's Jack," you corrected with an eye roll.
He laughed again before giving you a pointed look. "Be safe."
"You'll only be gone for four weeks," you said, leaning against the doorframe. "Besides, maybe this vacation will finally help you find a wife. You're almost forty."
Jin gasped dramatically, clutching his chest. "I'm thirty-three! I'm not that old."
You grinned at his exaggerated pout.
"Oh, and one more thing," he added casually. "Jungkook's going to stop by once a week to make sure you're okay and actually eating."
Your smile disappeared instantly.
"What the fuck?" you exclaimed. "I don't need anyone to babysit me... especially him. He is an asshole. Plus, I'll have Jack here."
"I don't trust that Jackass," Jin replied without missing a beat. "Besides, Jungkook isn't an asshole once you get to know him."
You resisted the urge to groan. Jin meant well, but he always defended Jungkook.
"His name is Jack, not Jackass," you shot back. "And I don't want Jungkook anywhere near this house. He can spend his time clubbing with random girls for all I care. I'll be fine."
"I know you can take care of yourself," Jin said as he zipped up his suitcase. "But it gives me peace of mind knowing someone I trust is checking in on you."
"I don't need checking on."
"Tough."
He grabbed his luggage and headed for the front door.
"I've got to go before I miss my flight," he said. "Try not to kill Jungkook if you see him."
"No promises."
Jin laughed, shook his head, and walked out the door.
The house suddenly felt much quieter.
You only hoped the next week wouldn't include Jungkook's annoyingly smug grin showing up on your doorstep.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
The next morning, a sharp knock echoed through the house.
You glanced at the clock before making your way to the front door, already smiling.
"Jackโ"
The smile vanished the second you pulled the door open.
"You're kidding me."
Standing on your porch, dressed in a black hoodie with grocery bags hanging from both hands, was Jungkook.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, folding your arms across your chest. "I thought you weren't coming until next week."
He lifted one of the bags slightly.
"Plans changed. Jin texted me last night and asked me to bring you food." His lips curled into that annoyingly smug grin you couldn't stand. "Apparently, he thinks you'll survive on cereal and iced coffee if left alone."
"I would."
"I know." He stepped past you before you could object. "That's exactly why I'm here."
"Excuse me?" you protested, following him into the kitchen. "Did I invite you in?"
"No."
"And yet you walked in anyway."
"Yes."
You sighed dramatically, already regretting opening the door.
Jungkook set the grocery bags on the counter and began unpacking them as if he owned the place.
Eggs.
Bacon.
Bread.
Fresh fruit.
Orange juice.
"You bought all this?" you asked despite yourself.
He shrugged.
"I figured your fridge would be empty."
"It's not."
He opened the refrigerator.
"There's half a carton of milk, hot sauce, and expired yogurt."
You frowned.
"I was anyways gonna go grocery shopping."
"Mhm."
"I was!"
"When?"
You hesitated before speaking.
"Eventually."
He snorted.
"Exactly."
Before you could fire back another insult, Jungkook rolled up the sleeves of his hoodie, washed his hands, and started cooking with surprising confidence.
The rhythmic sound of fruit being chopped filled the kitchen.
You leaned against the counter, watching him with curiosity.
"I didn't know you could cook."
He cracked an egg one-handed into a bowl without even looking.
"I'm full of surprises."
"I wouldn't go that far."
He ignored the comment, humming quietly while butter melted in the pan.
Within minutes, the kitchen smelled incredible.
Crispy bacon sizzled.
Bread toasted.
Eggs cooked to fluffy perfection.
Your stomach betrayed you with a loud growl.
Jungkook looked over his shoulder with an infuriating grin.
"Hungry?"
"No."
Your stomach growled again.
He raised an eyebrow.
"You have a funny way of showing it."
You shot him a glare that only made him chuckle.
Just as he placed a plate in front of you, your phone buzzed loudly on the counter.
Unknown Number.
You frowned.
"Spam?" Jungkook asked.
"Probably."
You unlocked your phone anyway.
A single text message waited.
'Thought you should know.'
Below it was a photo.
Your heartbeat stopped.
It was Jack.
There was no mistaking him.
He was wrapped around another woman outside what looked like a nightclub, kissing her without a hint of hesitation. The timestamp in the corner showed it had been taken the night before.
Your fingers tightened around the phone.
"No..." you whispered.
Jungkook's playful expression disappeared the moment he noticed the color drain from your face.
"What happened?"
You didn't answer.
Your eyes remained fixed on the picture as your chest tightened.
Your boyfriend is cheating on you.
Another message appeared from the same unknown number.
'You deserve to know the truth.'
The room suddenly felt painfully quiet. Even the sizzling pan on the stove seemed distant.
Jungkook stepped closer, concern replacing every trace of his usual teasing.
"Y/N..."
Without saying a word, you silently handed him the phone. His eyes scanned the screen, his jaw slowly tightening as he looked at the photo. The easygoing smile he'd worn all morning disappeared completely.
"That idiot," he muttered, his voice low and controlled as he looked back at you. "I'm sorry."
You stared at the floor, trying to blink away the tears in your eyes.
"I feel so stupid," you said quietly.
Jungkook handed your phone back without another look at the screen.
"You're not."
"I ignored so many signs," you said, blinking a tear away.
"Trusting someone isn't stupidity," he replied. "Cheating is."
For a moment, neither of you spoke.
"I got an invite to a club if you wanna join. It might help you get your mind off this asshole." Jungkook said with hope that you'll agree.
You nod slowly, "Sure, sounds better than being at home all day. What time?"
"I'll pick you up."
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Loud music shook the walls of the club, the flashing lights painting everything in shades of blue and purple.
Jungkook stood beside you at the bar, dressed completely in black. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing his tattoos, and the top few buttons of his shirt were undone. You hated admitting it, but he looked unfairly good.
"Drink?" he asked, leaning closer so you could hear him over the music.
"Mocktail."
He immediately rolled his eyes.
"Of course."
You narrowed your eyes at him. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing." He grabbed the bartender's attention. "Just very classic Y/N."
"Excuse me?"
"Responsible. Always thinking ahead. Probably has a five-year plan and a color-coded calendar somewhere."
You crossed your arms. "I do not."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Okay, maybe I do."
A small laugh escaped him.
Not the annoying, teasing laugh you were used to.
A genuine one.
For some reason, it caught you off guard.
The bartender placed your drink in front of you, and you took a sip while looking around the crowded room.
"You come here often?" you asked.
Jungkook shrugged, resting his arm against the bar.
"Sometimes."
"With girls?" The question came out before you could stop yourself.
His eyes flickered toward you.
"Is that what you think I do every night?"
You looked away.
"You're kind of known for it."
A small smirk appeared on his lips.
"Known for what?"
"Being a player."
He laughed quietly.
"Wow. You really have a low opinion of me."
"You make it easy."
For once, Jungkook didn't immediately argue.
Instead, he looked down at his drink.
"You know, everyone thinks they know me."
The teasing tone was gone.
You glanced at him.
"What does that mean?"
"It means people see what they want to see." He shrugged. "A guy at a club. Surrounded by people. Having fun."
"And?"
"And they assume that's all there is."
You studied his expression.
For the first time, Jungkook didn't look like the arrogant guy who loved getting under your skin.
Before you could respond, someone suddenly approached.
"Jungkook?"
A tall woman with a confident smile stepped closer, immediately placing a hand on his arm.
"Wow, I haven't seen you in forever."
Jungkook politely smiled.
"Hey."
Her eyes moved to you.
"And who is this?"
You opened your mouth, but Jungkook answered first.
"She's Jin's sister."
The woman's smile changed slightly.
"Oh."
You ignored the strange tone.
Jungkook noticed too.
"Y/N, this is Mina. Mina, Y/N."
You gave her a polite nod.
"Nice to meet you."
Mina looked between the two of you, clearly curious.
"Didn't know you had a girlfriend."
You nearly choked on your drink.
"What? No."
At the same time, Jungkook said, "She's not."
The two of you immediately looked at each other.
For some reason, the quick correction bothered you.
You didn't know why.
Mina laughed softly.
"Relax. I was just asking."
She turned back to Jungkook.
"Well, I'll let you two get back to your date."
"It's not a date," you and Jungkook said at the same time.
Mina smiled knowingly before walking away.
You watched her disappear into the crowd.
"She seemed nice," you said.
"She's an old friend."
You looked away before speaking.
"One of your many?"
Jungkook looked at you.
"Are you jealous?"
You scoffed.
"Absolutely not."
"Your face says otherwise."
"My face says you're annoying."
He grinned.
"There she is. The Y/N I know."
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn't stop the small smile that appeared.
And Jungkook noticed.
He always noticed.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Later that night, after hours of pretending you weren't having fun, you found yourself laughing at one of Jungkook's ridiculous stories.
You hated that.
You hated that the person you had spent years judging was turning out to be completely different from the version you created in your head.
When you stepped outside for some fresh air, the cold breeze hit your face.
Jungkook followed a moment later.
"You okay?"
You nodded.
"Yeah."
A pause.
Then quietly, you added, "Thanks."
He looked surprised.
"For what?"
"For today."
You looked down.
"Finding out Jack cheated... it sucked. But you didn't have to invite me."
Jungkook leaned against the wall beside you.
"I know."
"Then why did you?"
He was quiet for a moment.
Then he shrugged.
"Because Jin trusts me with you."
You smiled slightly.
"That's it?"
He looked at you.
"No."
Your breath caught slightly.
"I also wanted to make sure you were okay."
The honesty in his voice surprised you.
Jungkook wasn't teasing.
He wasn't trying to annoy you.
He was just being genuine.
And somehow, that was more dangerous.
Because maybe the biggest problem wasn't that you hated Jeon Jungkook.
Maybe the problem was that you were starting to see why everyone else liked him.

Five More Minutes || OP81
๊ง Oscar Piastri x gn!reader ๊ง
The sun may be up, but Oscar isn't letting you go just yet.
โงโ fluff
masterlist
The sun's soft glow of the early morning was spilling through the thin fabric of the curtains, painting a golden hue across the entire bedroom.
Everything felt quiet, snuggled in a peaceful silence before the rest of the world decides to wake up.
There was only a occasional sound of birds chirping to their own song ooutsid and the sleepy breathing against your neck that belonged to Oscar.
You slowly woke up, your eyes blinking to adjust to the sudden light intruding your sleep. For a minute, you decided to just lay there, enjoying the warmth around you.
You noticed how Oscar had somehow migrated during the night. One of his arms was lazily draped around the curve of your waist, his face tucked into your neck as if he decided in the middle of the night that you were the best pillow.
His hair was messy and tickled your chin with every breathe he took, his legs were entwined with yours in such way that escaping his grasp would be nearly impossible.
A smile formed on your lips as you glanced down at him, he looked ridiculously peaceful. He looked so different from the focused formula one driver everyone saw on race weekends
Here in your arms he was just Oscar. Sleepy, warm and surprisingly clingy Oscar
You absentmindedly ran your fingertips through his soft hair.
The action earned you a tiny hum of approval that made your heart melt.
"You awake?" you whispered softly against his hair, fingers still softly massaging his scalp.
"Mmm..."
Not exactly an answer.
You felt him nudge his nose against your pajama top before he let out the smallest sigh you had ever heard and snuggled even closer. You let out the softest laugh, "I think that's a yes."
Then another sleepy hum escaped him, "...No."
"You literally answered me.", your voice was full of admiration as you glanced down.
"No, I didn't." He continued to protest, his morning voice making you weak.
"You did."
"I dreamed it."
"So I'm also dreaming with that logic. Are we sharing a dream?"
"Mhm." he sighed against your neck, his warm breath sending shivers down your spine but you couldn't help but grin. Morning Oscar was something else. Eventually, you glanced over at the bedside clock. It was already pretty late and one of you should probably have started making breakfast already.
Carefully, you tried sliding your arm out from underneath him. That was one big mistake. Before you eveven managed to move, Oscar's grasp around your waist tightened on instinct.
"Nuh-uh."
"I haven't even done anything." you let out a breathy whine, your hands flying up to his shoulders.
"You moved."
"I barely even shifted." your voice was laced with amusement as you watched him.
"You shifted with escape intentions." he kept coming up with excuses for his reasoning.
"I need the bathroom." You whined as you left gentle taps against his shoulder blades.
"No."
You stared down at the top of his head, "...Oscar."
"Mmm?"
"I physically have to get up." He responded by burying his face deeper into your chest.
"No." he kept on whining with a raspy voice.
"You can't hold me hostage." you tried your best to say with a stern voice but failed.
"I can."
"You absolutely cannot." you were completely amused by ohis tactics to keep you in bed with him.
"I believe in myself." A laugh escaped from your lips before you could stop yourself. "You are so unbelievable."
"I've been told, darling." His voice was so sleepy that every word blended together perfectly.
One again you tried, but this time you tried by gently pushing yourself upward.
Oscar let out the most dramatic little whine, "Mmmmmm..." It wasn't very loud. It wasn't actually even very coherent. It was just one long, raspy complaint.
His arms wrapped around you even tighter, "Five more minutes, please babyyy." You sighed at words, hearing it for the second time that morning, "You said that ten minutes ago."
"I did?"
"You did." you said with a little giggle in your tone.
"...Then another five."
"Oscar..." you tried protest but it was no use with him.
"Please." His voice was just too adorably raspy from sleeping. "So comfy."
"I know, butโ"
"You smell nice."
"...That's your argument?" you raised your brows at his words, knowing he's using every tactic he can think of.
"Mhm."
"You realize flattery isn't going to stop time." you whispered against his hair again making him laugh.
"It might stop you." you said softly with a hopeful tone as he tilted his head up just enough to look up into your eyes.
He looked adorable with his hair sticking up in every possible direction and eyes barely even open. His cheeks still had those little lines indented into his skin from his pillow or maybe even your shirt.
He looked so ridiculously domestic.
And impossibly cute.
"I don't want you to go." He continued with his whining as his fingers slipped underneath your shirt and started tracing random figures on your stomach.
His fingers were ice cold against your skin, each touch making your stomach flip, "I'm not going anywhere."
"You were." his fingers stopped tracing and he looked back up at you.
"I was going to brush my teeth." tried your best to reason with the sleepy man, "You can do that later.", but he had something to say for everything.
"I don't think society would appreciate morning breath."
"I appreciate you staying here." Damn your heart for melting so easily at his words.
"You know," you whispered, your hand brushed through his messy hair again, "you're a lot clingier than people think."
"I'm not clingy." He immediately denied your words as if he's not almost completely on top of you, "You've practically fused yourself to me."
"I'm conserving warmth." he continued to defend himself.
"It's summer."
"...I'm emotionally conserving warmth." his voice of tone was a lot less confident with his answer.
You giggled so hard that the bed beneath you to slightly shook, but Oscar didn't find it amusing at all, a frown covering his lips ddramaticall, "You're laughing at my completely valid scientific explanation."
"Oh, absolutely." He only huffed at your response and snuggled his head back into your chest, "...Mean."
"I'm mean?" you looked down at him with a confused expression covering you face.
"Mhm."
"You won't let me leave the bed." It was your time to defend yourself.
"I love you." The words left his mouth so naturally, so casually as he whispered it into your shirt. You almost believed he didn't realize he said it, it made you freeze for a second before a big smile covered your lips. So big that it did hurt your cheeks, "I love you too." He immediately squeezed his arms around again, satisfied and content with you saying it back.
Also how to him those words were more than enough to convince him that there was no reason for either of you to move. Minutes kept passing one another quietly. You started to trace lazy circles over his bare back as he slowly drifted between being awake and being asleep.
Every few second or minute he pressed a soft little kids against your chest or neck without opening his sleepy eyes as if he was doing it instinctively.
Every kiss made your heart flutter. Eventually, you looked back toward the clock, "Okay."
"No." He immediately whined again against your chest.
"I haven't even said anything." you whispered yelled in a questioning tone.
"I know that tone."
"What tone?"
"The responsible tone." he said softly as a tiny pout lingered on his lips, making you giggle, "We really do need to get up."
Only silence followed.
"...Oscar?"
Haven gotten no response in return made you glance down at him, "...Did you really fall asleep again, baby?"
"...Maybe." he mumbled quietly.
"Oscar."
"Mhm?"
"I know you're awake." you shaked his shoulders a little.
"No proof." he hummed against your skin.
"You literally just answered me, you dummy."
"...Lucky guess." His response made you reach down and gently pinch his side and he let out the softest squeak before he looked up at you with slight mock betrayal, "You attacked me."
"I motivated you." You simply responded to him making him huff, "I'll remember this."
"You won't. You'll forget after i make you your favorite coffee." you gave him a teasing smile.
"I don't forget." he mumbled under his breath.
"You forgot where you put your phone yesterday." You tried to reason with him again but again, he has excuses for everything, "...That was different."
"It was in the fridge." you whispered yelled again, stunned by his logic.
"I had reasons!" Before he could continue you responded, "You absolutely did not."
He sighed and looked away from your gaze as he continued with his confusing logic, "I was...testing the cooling capabilities."
"For your phone?"
"Mhm."
You raised an eyebrow, "Sure."
Oscar tried his best to keep a straight face, but failed as a smile spread across his lips before he could stop it. A little laugh quickly followed after his smile, the sound was still rough and raspy from being tired.
You leaned down and left a gentle kiss on his forehead, "Come on, baby." And yet again he groaned dramatically, "Nooooo!!"
"Breakfast?"
"No."
"Coffee?"
"...Maybe." he raised his eyebrows, slightly getting interested in your offerings for getting up.
"Pancakes?"
One eye cracked open.
"...Chocolate chip?"
"If you actually get out of our bed." you said with a teasing voice. As you looked at him, you realized how he's considering the offer with overly exaggerated seriousness, "...Fine."
You smiled triumphantly, "I win."
"I never said you won." He immediately followed up.
"You surrendered." You said with a certain tone.
"I strategically retreated." he continued...
"You accepted pancakes." You proudly said.
"...The pancakes won."
And before you could have teased him again, he abruptly reached up and cupped your face with one of his hands and pulled you down into a slow, lingering kiss. The kids was messy and warm and wasn't rushed.
As he pulled away, he gently rested his forehead against yours.
"...Actually," he mumbled.
"What?" you asked curiously.
"...Five more minutes?"
You reluctantly laughed as you wrapped your arms around him once more, "Five minutes."
Oscar smiled triumphantly before immediately snuggling back into your chest, perfectly content.
"...Best decision you've made all morning."
"...We are absolutely going to be late because of you." you sighed into his hair.
"Worth it."

The lights from the city blurred into streaks of gold outside of the car window as Liam drove you two home. He had one hand resting lazily on the steering wheel and his other hand stayed on your upper thigh.
It was one of those nights where you never wanted it to end.
Your planned dinner somehow turned into getting dessert at a little cozy cafรฉ, dessert turned into a very long walk through the quiet streets and somehow that got turned into a fun challenge to see who could spot the most ridiculous-looking dog before returning to the car.
You had won the challenge, mostly because he had laughed so hard after seeing the smallest pomeranian in a giant yellow raincoat that he completely forgot to keep looking.
"I still think that was cheating," he quietly muttered, squeezing your hand softly.
"You were the one laughing." you said defensively, slightly laughing at his words.
"It even had boots." He loudly laughed out, shaking his head at the memory of the adorable pup.
"It was so cutee." He finally let out a little laugh as he continued, "It looked like me after media day."
You snorted, "You admit it?"
"...Maybe."
The following comfortable silence was one he had come to treasure over the last few months of dating you. He realized how dating you, had been surprising very easy. It wasn't because relationships were effortless, but because you had made everything feel lighter.
After every exhausting qualifying, travel week and long interview, coming back home to you always felt like he was finally home.
When he had finally pulled into the driveway of his apartment complex, he slowly glanced at the time, "...It's really late."
You glanced over when you heard his voice, "I should be heading then..."
"No." His reply came almost immediately. The response made you blink, confused, "No?"
He was already climbing out of the car. " I would have drove you home, stay over, please?"
"Liamโ" you tried to protest but looking over to him again, you noticed the desperation on his expression, "okay, I'll stay the night..."
Your laughter quickly followed as he hurried around the front of the car and dramatically opened the car door for you, "My passenger princess duties continue."
"I am perfectly capable of opening my own door." You told him, but the smile never left your lips
"I know." he said proudly and held out his hand for you, "But I like doing it."
Rolling your eyes fondly, you took it.
His apartment was quiet. There was only a soft hum of the fridge and the distant traffic that filled the space.
As you entered you immediately kicked off your uncomfortable shoes while Liam pulled off his jacket.
And without saying a single word, you felt him wrap both of his arms around your waist, "...Hi."
A soft smile formed on your lips as your hands immediately flying up to cover his hands on your waist, "We've been together all night."
"I know." His voice was warm against the side of your neck, sending shivers down your spine, "And?"
"I missed you." He let out a small whine as his head fell down onto your shoulder.
You giggled at him a little, finding him adorable, "Liam."
"What?" He looked up at you as he turned you around in his arms.
"You've been seeing me the entire night..."
He whined again and dropped his face against your shoulder again, a bit more dramatically than before. The action gained a little laugh out of you, the sound of your laugh making him smile, "There it is."
"What?" you asked him curiously as he glanced back up at you.
"That laugh." he said with a giant grin plastered on his lips.
"I wasn't laughing."
"You absolutely were." He laughed out at your denial about laughing.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh really?"
He looked at you with his mischievous smile, "So if I do..."
As he talked he leaned in, "...this..."
A gentle kiss landed softly on the side of your lips, "...you won't smile?"
Another kiss, this time it landed on your lips. Then another, then one on your cheek, another on your forehead, one on the tip of your nose.
"Liam..."
"Hm?" he whispered as he leaned down to leave a small kiss on your neck, "You are impossible."
"I've heard." he smiled and kissed you again before taking your hand in his, "C'mon."
"Where?"
"My room."
Your eyes narrowed suspiciously at his answer, "You mean your bed."
"...Maybe."
"I knew it." You giggled, slightly hitting his arm.
"I make no apologies." he said as he started to gently tug on your hand.
When you didn't move quickly enough, he simply walked backwards while pulling you along with him,"Liaaam."
"I'm being very patient."
"You are literally dragging me." You protested, but a small laugh left your lips.
"Very lovingly." He defended himself as you coucouldn't stop laughing.
Eventually you let him pull you all the way into his bedroom.
The moment you reached the bed, he flopped backwards dramatically, arms spread wide.
You almost immediately climbed onto the mattress beside him, finding yourself wrapped in another tight hug, "I swear you're secretly a koala."
"No." He whispered laughing into your shoulder, "No?"
"I'm worse." He said as he gentle left little kisses on your neck.
"You admit it?"
"Mhm." a humm left him as he tucked your head beneath his chin. You both stayed silent. The room was almost completely dark, the only light being from the bedside table.
It felt extremely peaceful with you wrapped in his arms. It was warm and you felt so safe.
You felt how his thumb absentmindedly traced across your back. You could hear his steady heart beat and how yours slightly fell into rhythm with his.
"I love nights like this," he softly mumbled, "Me too."
"No cameras."
"No schedules."
"No planes to catch."
"Just us."
You smiled against his chest, his words making your heart melt, "Just us."
He leaned down to leave another sweet kiss on your lips before leaving another. After a few shared kisses he reluctantly pulled away to rest his forehead against yours.
"...Move in with me."
There was a silence thst followed. Complete silance...
You felt as your brain stopped working, you blinked, "...What?"
He looked like he had only just realized what words he said, "Iโ"
His eyes widened as he sat up abruptly, "I didn't... I meanโ" his voice was full of nervousness, "I wasn't planning to say it like that."
You couldn't stop staring at him.
He reached uo and rubbed both of his hands over his face, "oh no...That was way too sudden."
You slightly opened your mouth, wanting to say something but nothing came out.
He suddenly stood up and started pacing beside the bed, "Oh my God." he whispered yelled before continuing, "I completely overstepped."
"Liam..."
"No, no, you're right." he slowly started to freak out more.
"I didn't say anything." You looked up at him, confusion written all over your face.
"Exactly!" He said as he pointed dramatically, "You didn't say anything! I probably freaked you out."
"You didn'tโ" you tried your best to calm him down but he just kept talking.
"I should've planned something."
"A dinner."
"No..." you laughed out loud at his reasoning.
"A picnic?"
"No." you said again.
"A speech?"
You couldn't stop the smile forming on your lips anymore as you watched him spiral.
"I just blurted it out!" He groaned out dramatically, "Who does that?"
"Liam."
"I can just...forget I ever asked." He sighed out loud before talking again, "We can go back to cuddling."
"I'll never mention it again." He whispered as you reached out to grab ahold of his wrists before he could pace another lap around the bed, "Liam."
He looked up at you cautiously, "...Yeah?"
"You are the cutest person I've ever met." you said with the biggest smile on your face he's ever seen.
"What?" he asked, his voice noticeably smaller than before, "I've never seen someone panic this much."
"I panicked because you looked horrified."he said with a tiny pout on his lips.
"I wasn't horrified." You justified your response as best as you could.
"You looked shocked." He continued the pout growing by the second.
"I was."
"...Oh."
"I just wasn't expecting it."
He blinked at your answer, "...Really?"
You gave him a little nod, "It caught me completely off guard."
"I know."
"You basically asked me while we were lying in bed after kissing me twenty-seven times."
"It wasn't twenty-seven." He whined a little, his hands slightly tightening around yours as he hears your words, "It was definitely over twenty."
"...Okay." You laughed softly, "I just needed a second."
He looked at you and searched your face nervously, "...And?"
You quietly stood up, your hands never leaving his as you said, "I'd love to."
His eyebrows lifted at your confession, "What?"
"I'll move in with you." He just stared at you, a little shocked, "...You're serious?"
"Very."
"You actually want to?" A gentle smile formed on his face, "I do."
For a brief second he didn't say anything, he simply just looked at you, then the biggest grin you had ever seen spread across his expression.
"You'll live here."
"Mhm."
"With me."
"Mhm."
"Like..."
He laughed breathlessly.
"Every day?"
"Every day." you finally confirmed it to him.
He immediately wrapped you into the tightest hug imaginable, nearly lifting you off the floor.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"No, likeโ" He pulled back just enough to look at you, "I really, really love you."
"I was fully preparing for rejection."
"I noticed." you giggled and your forehead dropped into his shoulder.
He buried his face into your neck, laughing along with you now, "I'm never living this down, am I?"
"Absolutely not." you confirmed his suspicion
"I'm going to hear about this forever." he groaned.
"For the rest of our lives."
"...Worth it." he said with a voice full of admiration, making you look up at him, "Worth it?"
He smiled before leaning down to kiss you again, slow and gentle, "Worth every second."
Your forehead rested against his as the two of you smiled into the quiet room.
It already felt a little like home.
