I was just thinking about Dannys hatred for Christmas and how funny / odd itd be if Amity's citizens start noticing how snappy and overly emotional and aggressive Danny gets in December and start to collectively think it's because he died in December and is still having a hard time processing it.

You know there is that myth that avalanches can happen when you yell?

It's not true. A human can't yell that loud. It's not possible. But it is certainly entrenched in people's minds, right?

If you were buried in an avalanche, you would obviously try to get out. But if you couldn't yelling for help seems a logical step.

Too bad snow is pretty good an insulating sound.

Maybe people also start to theorize that the reason why Phantom is always so quick to intervene and finish the fight to save the civilians is that the avalanche rescue never made it in time.

There is a thing called 15 golden minutes, where the buried person can still be saved, so maybe someone out of curiosity tries to time Phantom's fights and they are all less than a quarter of hour...

Do they know about the Christmas truce? Because if they didn’t I could see some thinking that the ghosts leave phantom and amity alone because it’s when he died. Like the ghosts don’t mess with him at that time and they already think that is when he died so it has to be connected in their minds. Also I wonder if they use his appearance in this theory. He died in snow and now he has SNOW white hair. And his eyes are bright green and glow so that he’d be easier to spot in snow? Sorry that it’s rushed.

Past/Memories ft Jack! (this is an unfinished prompt from last year's college trio month. Jack Fenton's backstory, my beloved.)

This is my attempt to create an early childhood for Jack that feels like it could have been canon, right down to the offhanded way Jack talks about what was definitely a traumatic event but isn't handled at all seriously in its presentation.

Jack being the youngest of six boys is something that feels so right to me. This is implied, but the reason why none of his brothers would be mentioned in canon is because all of them think Jack is crazy and try to avoid contact with him, which is easy because they're all scattered across the country. Jack has a tendency to ruin family reunions with his antics, so it's been quite a few years since Jazz and Danny have seen any of their uncles or cousins. And yes, each of Jack's brothers are very successful in stereotypical respectable fields. Jack is the black sheep for being ghost-obsessed, despite being arguably just as much of a genius as the rest of them. (Thematically, I use Jack's distance from his brothers to help illustrate how his friendship with Vlad was special ((there's weight to the fact Jack wants his children to call Vlad their uncle)), and also serve as a sad precursor to where their friendship ends up.)

Jack's beloved grandfather and the most important person in his life was a senile WW1 veteran who saw ghosts everywhere. Jack's earliest memories are of hunting ghosts with him, while the rest of the family humored their games. At about the age of seven or eight, Jack witnessed the appearance of a real ghost that gave his startled grandfather a fatal heart attack on the spot. No one in the family believed him when he said his death was because of a ghost, and they especially weren't amused by Jack's outbursts at the funeral. (Jack talks about this traumatic event in the present in his usual matter of fact, comedic way, of course.)

Why does Bruce always hit Jason with the ‘soldier line’? Real take, feels like that line comes out at the end of every take down like a gamer t-bagging.

Batman is so fucking unhinged in content. On one hand I'd love to see some positive character growth, but on the other hand, the crazier he is the funnier the content gets.

Btw Bruce’s stated reason for why he didn’t tell Jason for 6 months is because he doesn’t trust Jason and thinks finding out about his father’s death will make him lose it. Bruce kept information about Jason’s own family from him for nearly the entire time they’d known each other because Bruce didn’t want to deal with supporting Jason through his grief. He fucking procrastinated it like fucking laundry.

And he evidently didn’t learn his lesson because much later it turns out Bruce never told Jason anything about his predecessor either!

Great going Batman! What a strong foundation of trust and respect you’ve built! Jason will surely continue to place his full trust in you as he grows older and never get disillusioned!

And if he does, well… there must be something wrong with him!

You wanna ship canonically aspec characters because “aro/ace people can still date/have sex”? Okay, then. LET’S DO IT.  I wanna see an aromantic character with an alloromantic love interest. I wanna see that confession of undying love and the moment when the aro character says they will never feel the same way—not romantically.

I wanna see the asexual character with their allosexual partner. I wanna see that moment when the ace characters tries sex with their partner for the first time because they want to make them happy only to realize that they are 100% sex repulsed.

I wanna see the two demiromantics who don’t even know if what they feel is romantic attraction, but they adore each other and just want to make healthy snacks together and destroy each other at Mario Kart.

I wanna see the two aces who love sensual affection and are figuring out what they define as sexual or not.

I wanna see the romance + sex neutral aroace who happily and consensually does whatever makes their partner happy…but their partner still struggles with feeling undesired.

Danny as the Ghost King and God of Space who has been alive for far too long and decided to jump into the DC dimension. He’s bored, whimsical, and mischievous. He grabs a piece of cardboard and writes:

Challenge me to a game of your choosing. Loser grants any one (1) wish the winner asks.

And, of course, people roll their eyes at it. They roll their eyes at the clearly homeless young man on the street corner with the weird sign. Some toss him some change every now and then, but no one “challenges” him.

Then, someone does.

Sarah, a street kid with quick hands figured that she’d be able to easily beat the weirdo with the sign. She says, “I bet I can pick more pockets than you.”

She’s been doing this all her life. She knows what she’s doing. And yet, she loses. She doesn’t run, despite the danger she fears she may now be in. She lost, fair and square. So she waits for whatever “wish” the weirdo has.

He says, “I wish for you to take me to the best street food vendor you know.”

And she stares at him like he’s lost it. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. It never does. She takes him. He buys them both dinner.

Later, at “home,” she goes to bed without being hungry for the first time in weeks and doesn’t think about how she’d been wishing for that very same thing.

It’s a while after that someone challenges him again.

A street worker, Maxi, with nothing to lose. She jokes with him, says, “I bet I’m a better kisser than you.”

He says, “Let’s find out.”

She wins. He asks, “If you could have anything, what would you wish for?”

At this point, they’re friendly, somewhat close. It’s been a wild night and she has nothing to lose. She’s about to lose her kid to CPS, she lost her day job, she’d just gotten an eviction notice.

She says, “I’d wish for the chance to go back to school without worrying about paying for tuition, rent, whatever. So I can give my kid a better future, y’know?”

He nods, says, “I’ll see what I can do.”

She doesn’t get it, at the time.

A month later, she puts the final box down in her new apartment. She smiles at her kid, who is staring out the window with bright, wide eyes and not shying away at the worry of gunfire. She joins her baby by the window and thinks about how lucky she’s been; she has a good job, a new apartment, she’s going back to school— and she makes eye contact with the person she made a stupid bet with months ago. He waves and tilts his head in a knowing nod. She gasps, smiles, and cries because how could it be possible? But also because who cares how it was done. She’d gotten her and her kid out.

It’s not something that happens often. People challenge Danny on occasion, some win, some lose. Nothing outrageous.

Then a kid, far too young to be out as late as it was, comes up to him. She’d heard the guy was safe. How DJ won and got a new skateboard and how, despite losing, Sarah’s dad finally got convicted and her mom was steadily getting clean.

Li Chen figures it couldn’t hurt to play. She chooses rock, paper, scissors. She loses and says, “What is your wish?”

The man looks up and Gotham’s smog covered sky, “I wish I could see the stars from here.”

Li Chen agrees. “I don’t think I can do that.”

He smiles at her, something knowing in his eyes, “Maybe not right now, but you will.”

Li Chen doesn’t understand until decades later, looking at the stars under Gotham’s semi-clear skies with her wife, how both their wishes came true.

to get revenge on Tim for being a little stalker back during his Robin days, Jason just decides to stalk Red Robin. the problem is that Tim realises Red Hood is stalking him and just goes ‘ok that’s fair’ and instead of getting annoyed about it he starts treating Jason like his own personal twitch chat.

Jason: *hacking into Tim’s apartment’s security cameras*

Tim, trying to cook in his kitchen: -so what do we think, chat? is this good or should i add more salt? and what should i make for dessert, any requests?

Jason:

Jason, seeing the rest of the apartment completely empty:

Jason: we really need to give him an MRI scan.

after a while Jason just starts going along with it and it becomes less of a revenge attempt and more of a keeping-an-eye-on-my-little-brother attempt, because it’s literally the only form of surveillance on Tim from the batfamily that Tim doesn’t immediately find and destroy.

Tim will be out on patrol with no coms connected, completely alone, and he’ll still pause outside a sting job and talk to nobody just like ‘chat do you think i should go in?’ and after a moment his phone will ping and it will be Jason who as far as he knows is in fuckin italy or something on a job, just ‘do it and i’ll donate 10 dollars’ and Tim will just be like ‘bet’ and it’s completely normal for them.
