you're welcome
She is the one who stands with her arms open,
Ready to welcome those who have walked across the Gjöll bridge.
She is not one to be tricked,
For Her holy name is renowned through the nine worlds,
All of which know of Her power:
She cradles the souls of those who come to rest with the Gods,
And She does not discriminate the peasant from the king,
Nor the humble from the noble.
To Her we send songs of praise.
Onto Her I entrust my life.
Beside Her does the Luminous One sit.
Upon Her is a crown made of ash.

February’s full Moon is a “Micromoon” this year. Think of this term as the opposite of a “Supermoon.” It simply means that the full Moon is at its farthest point from Earth (not the nearest point).
The explanation behind February’s full Moon name is a fairly straightforward one: it’s known as the Snow Moon due to the typically heavy snowfall that occurs in February. On average, February is the United States’ snowiest month, according to data from the National Weather Service. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver, who had visited with the Naudowessie(Dakota), wrote that the name used for this period was the Snow Moon, “because more snow commonly falls during this month than any other in the winter.”

Imbolc is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of spring. Most commonly it is held on January 31 – February 1, or halfway between the winter solstice & the spring equinox. The holiday is a festival of the hearth, home, a celebration of the lengthening days & the early signs of spring.
The word "imbolc" means "in the belly" and refers to the pregnancy of ewes at this time of year. The term "oimelc" means ewe's milk. Around this time of year, many herd animals give birth to their first offspring of the year or are heavily pregnant & as a result, they are producing milk. This creation of life’s milk is a part of the symbolic hope for spring.
Imbolc is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and it is associated with important events in Irish mythology. It has been suggested that it was originally a pagan festival associated with the goddess Brigid and that it was Christianized as a festival of Saint Brigid, who herself is thought to be a Christianization of the goddess.
Some use Imbolc to celebrate the longer days which herald the return of Spring & The Goddess's recovery from giving birth to The Sun (The God) at Yule. The God & The Goddess are children symbolizing new life, new beginnings & new resurrections.
Related festivals:
• Groundhog Day- Is a tradition observed in the United States & Canada on February 2 of every year. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day & sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den & winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early.
While the tradition remains popular in the 21st century, studies have found no consistent association between a groundhog seeing its shadow & the subsequent arrival time of spring-like weather.
•St. Brigid's Day- 1 February. It was originally Imbolc, the first day of spring in Irish tradition. Because Saint Brigid has been theorised as linked to the goddess Brigid, some associate the festival of Imbolc with the goddess. St. Brigid is the patroness saint (or 'mother saint') of Ireland. She is patroness of many things, including poetry, learning, healing, protection, blacksmithing, livestock & dairy production. In her honour, a perpetual fire was kept burning at Kildare for centuries.
A recent campaign successfully established her feast day as a national holiday in 2023.
• Chinese New Year- (February 10th) the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. In Chinese, the festival is commonly referred to as the Spring Festival,- marking the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season. Observances traditionally take place from Chinese New Year's Eve, the evening preceding the first day of the year, to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between January 21st & February 20th.
The Chinese New Year is associated with several myths and customs. The festival was traditionally a time to honour deities as well as ancestors. Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the New Year vary widely & the evening preceding the New Year's Day is frequently regarded as an occasion for Chinese families to gather for the annual reunion dinner.
It is also a tradition for every family to thoroughly clean their house, in order to sweep away any ill fortune & to make way for incoming good luck. Another custom is the decoration of windows & doors with red paper-cuts and couplets. Popular themes among these paper-cuts and couplets include good fortune or happiness, wealth & longevity. Other activities include lighting firecrackers & giving money in red envelopes.
• Candlemas- is a Christian feast day on February 2nd commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus in Luke 2:22-40.
While it is customary for Christians in some countries to remove their Christmas decorations on Twelfth Night, those in other Christian countries historically remove them after Candlemas. On Candlemas, many Christians also take their candles to their local church, where they are blessed and then used for the rest of the year.
•Setsubun- (February 3rd) Is the day before the beginning of spring in the old calendar in Japan. The name literally means 'seasonal division', referring to the day just before the first day of spring.
Both Setsubun & Risshun are celebrated yearly as part of the Spring Festival (Haru matsuri ) in Japan. In its association with the Lunar New Year, Setsubun, though not the official New Year, was thought of as similar in its ritual & cultural associations of 'cleansing' the previous year as the beginning of the new season of spring. Setsubun was accompanied by a number of rituals & traditions held at various levels to drive away the previous year's bad fortunes & evil spirits for the year to come.
Other Celebrations:
• Lupercalia-
In ancient Rome, this festival was conducted annually on February 13th through 15th under the superintendence of a corporation of priests called Luperci. The origins of the festival are obscure, although the likely derivation of its name from lupus (Latin: “wolf”) has variously suggested connection with an ancient deity who protected herds from wolves and with the legendary she-wolf who nursed Romulus and Remus. As a fertility rite, the festival is also associated with the god Faunus.
to purify the city, promoting health & fertility.
Each Lupercalia began with the sacrifice by the Luperci of goats and a dog, after which two of the Luperci were led to the altar, their foreheads were touched with a bloody knife & the blood was wiped off with wool dipped in milk; the ritual required that the two young men laugh. The sacrificial feast followed, after which the Luperci cut thongs from the skins of the sacrificial animals & ran in two bands around the Palatine hill, striking with the thongs at any woman who came near them. A blow from the thong was supposed to render a woman fertile.
In 494 CE the Christian church under Pope Gelasius I forbade participation in the festival. Tradition holds that he appropriated the form of the rite as the Feast of the Purification (Candlemas), celebrated on February 2, but it is likely that the Christian feast was established in the previous century. It has also been alternately suggested that Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day, celebrated on February 14th, but the origin of that holiday was likely much later.

Imbolc Altar Ideas & Correspondences
Imbolc, also known as Candlemas or Brigid's Day, marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It's a time to celebrate the returning light and the awakening of the Earth.
Altar Decorations:
Candles: Imbolc is strongly associated with the element of fire. Decorate your altar with candles in shades of white, yellow, and light blue to represent the increasing daylight.
Brigid's Cross: Craft or purchase a Brigid's Cross, a traditional symbol associated with the Celtic goddess Brigid. Hang it on your altar as a protective charm.
Seasonal Flowers: Place early spring flowers like snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils on your altar. These symbolize the first signs of life returning to the land.
Herbs: Incorporate herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and cinnamon for their purifying and invigorating properties. Bundle them together with a red or white ribbon.
Seeds: Represent the potential for growth by adding a dish of seeds to your altar. Consider seeds associated with early spring crops like wheat or herbs.
Imbolc Symbols: Include symbols like lambs, ewes, and the sun to capture the essence of this seasonal transition.
Candle Holders: Choose unique candle holders or lanterns to enhance the ambiance. Consider using candle holders in the shape of suns, stars, or nature-inspired designs.
Divination Tools: Add divination tools like tarot cards or runes to your altar for seeking guidance during this transitional period.
Symbolic Stones: Integrate crystals such as citrine for abundance, aquamarine for clarity, and moonstone for intuition. Arrange them aesthetically around your altar.
Feathers: Symbolizing air and spirituality, feathers can be incorporated to invoke the energy of the season. Choose feathers from birds associated with the goddess Brigid, like swans or owls.
Artwork: Display artwork or illustrations that resonate with the themes of Imbolc. This could include depictions of Brigid, snow-covered landscapes, or symbols of growth and renewal.
Imbolc Incense: Craft or purchase incense blends with scents like frankincense, myrrh, and chamomile to fill your sacred space with a soothing and purifying aroma.
Correspondences
Goddess Brigid: Imbolc is sacred to Brigid, the Celtic goddess of hearth, home, and inspiration. Invoke her energy for healing, creativity, and protection.
Colors: White, yellow, light green, and light blue are associated with Imbolc. Use these colors in candles, altar cloths, and decorations to align with the festival's energy.
Stones: Crystals such as amethyst, garnet, and clear quartz resonate with Imbolc's energies.
Foods: Dairy products, especially cheese, and foods made with seeds like bread or muffins are fitting for Imbolc. Set offerings on your altar or incorporate them into your celebration feast.
Water: Imbolc is also associated with the element of water. Include a small bowl of water on your altar to symbolize purification.
Creativity Symbols: Imbolc is a time for inspiration and creative endeavors. Include symbols of your creative pursuits, such as a paintbrush, musical instrument, or writing quill.
Anointing Oils: Create or purchase anointing oils infused with herbs like lavender, rosemary, and frankincense. Use them to anoint candles, tools, or yourself during Imbolc rituals.
Animal Representations: Incorporate figurines or images of animals associated with Brigid, such as lambs, cows, or swans, to honor her connection to the animal kingdom.
Wheat or Corn Dolls: Craft small dolls from wheat or corn husks, symbolizing the harvest to come. Place them on your altar as a representation of the Earth's fertility.
Bell or Chimes: Hang a bell or wind chimes near your altar to symbolize the awakening of nature and the stirring of life. Ring it during your Imbolc rituals to mark significant moments.
Decorative Cloth: Choose an altar cloth with intricate patterns or symbols related to Imbolc, such as suns, wheels, or Brigid's crosses, to add a touch of magic to your sacred space.
May you find warmth in the returning light. <3
Every single odd number has an “e” in it.
LISTEN-
Not all of them. 30 and 50 aren’t spelled with the letter e in it …
father god
…if you can split a number in half evenly, it’s even. 30 and 50 are odd.
-_-’
(15+15=30
25+25=30)
25+25 = 30? You sure about that??
Lord have mercy….
Bye
3 days into 2018 smh
LMAOOOOOOO
One
Three
Five
Nine
And since everything else after that is a variant of these numbers, then all odds have the letter ‘E’.
🗣YOU FORGOT SEVEN!!
It keeps getting worse.
LMAOOO WHAT IS GOING ON
My head hurts…
This is why that Tumblr University shit was the dumbest idea ever just look at this
who failed yall?
IM SCREAMING
You whole ass forgot about eight - a number with an e and is pretty fucking even
why would 8 be brought up if it’s EVEN in a post about ODDS??????? the post said “every single ODD number has an ‘e’ in it” not “every single number with an ‘e’ is odd” what the fuck
3 days until 2019 and we’re still here
happy New year’s eve
I’m going to bring this flaming dumpster into 2019 so future generations can see what a mistake Tumblr was
Er, guys two is odd and doesn’t have an e. Just saying…
did you deadass just try to tell me two is odd? i’m fucking crying throw the whole website away
Reblogging for the last one😂
The one thing I notice is that no matter how much you want to throw this site away, you just can’t.
TWO IS ODD?!?! PFFFTT I’M SCREAMING
Wait what about zero that’s an odd number ,no?
ok but hear me out fifty and thirty make up for the fact they have no e by the way they are pronounces third-E fifth-E
bro why do 30 and 50 matter THEY’RE FUCKING EVEN
what the actual fuck is happening
1 is an even number
I’m gonna smack you
-30 and -50 have an e in them
Wait why are we so quick to throw away the Zero idea
Zero isn’t a number
It can’t be divided by two though, can it
It can??? 0/2=0??
OD NUMBERS
onE
thrEE
fivE
sEvEn
ninE
OD numbers huh?
Anything that ends with a 0,2,4,6,8 is even and the rest is odd (1,3,7,9) stop freaking out y’all
YOU FORGOT 5
DUDE WHAT ABOUT FOUR
What about it?????
THAT DOESN’T HAVE E IN IT
THAT’S BECAUSE IT’S EVEN?????
A R E Y O U G U Y S O K A Y
21 days away from 2020, folks.
Please tell me I can start the new freaking decade with a post arguing about something as stupid as this. Please. 🙏
This is art at its finest
one week to 2020 dudes
I’m so done
Im so upset that even with all the “zero is odd” “no it’s not” stuff no one bothered to point out… It doesn’t matter. Zero, 0, zEro
But zero isn’t odd. It’s fucking the lack of a number. It’s neutral. It’s empty. There’s nothing there
Zero is a number.
A definition of an even number is that it can be divided by 2 and the result is a whole number. Since you cannot divide zero, you cant divide it by 2 and that means that zero is an odd number.
zEro, onE, thrEE, fivE, sEvEn, ninE, ElEven, and then the suffix -teen and every other odd number in english contains the names of the numbers 1 to 9.
zero is not a goddamn odd number what. even i know that and i’m not good at math. also you can divide 0 by 2, it’s 0, you literally just divide it and you just get 0 out oh my gosh. you can’t divide by zero but you can divide zero.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parity_of_zero
https://www.britannica.com/story/is-zero-an-even-or-an-odd-number
https://www.scienceabc.com/nature/zero-odd-even.html Quote from this one “ So, technically, [zero] is even. In fact, it is the most even number there is.”
also does anybody on here ever look anything up or? this is making my brain physically hurt. christ.
NO. NO FUCK YOU ALL WE ARE NOT BRINGING THIS SHIT INTO 2020. WHOEVER BROUGHT THIS BACK DID IT ON PURPOSE AND I WILL FUCKING HUNT YOU DOWN FOR SPORT FUCK YOU. FUCK THIS.
This post was an absolute train wreck and I’m cursing my followers with it
Damn you
“Anyone can do math, even gay people”
Bitch, are you sure???
This post is amazing. The Chaos is pleased.
Is this fucking number discourse
Do you have an issue with that?
No but just out of all the things it’s about numbers
Just that it’s weird is all
The internet is weird, you should be used to that by now.
Yeah that’s true
At least the cum soup post was less weird than this
Uhh I’m sorry the what
Oh boy here we go again
How many times have I done this so far
I’ve done this like… three, maybe four times so far
Do you really want to know
You can turn back now
Please why did I have to see this post I had midterms today and my brain is already dead I don’t have enough brain cells for this
I had never seen this before today and I told my grandma about it and she’s shaking her head in both humor and disappointment. Good job everyone!
This is the longest post but yall forgot 6
And 1,3,5,7, and 9 are odd numbers. 5 is an honorary even number, but it is still odd.
This post should be illegal
Welcome to the motherfucking internet, get this mess back on my blog, it got better.
it’s april 2020 and it’s fucking back
I may anger many people by saying this, but I liked reading through this post. Also, how has this resurfaced so many times?
Also also, 5 is not an honorary even number, five itself is odd. half of it’s multiples are even but that does not make it even in the slightest because it is odd. That’s like saying three is an honorary even number because of 6.
I read this post and am slowly dying because of it
I’ve seen this post before, but it wasn’t NEARLY this long
Sad thing is I can’t tell who’s a troll and who genuinely doesn’t do well in math
After 11 years of wondering if Turkish Delight is good enough to sell out my family I finally made some
so..is it?
well if i was a 10 year old in 1940 during world war ii when there was sugar rationing and i had been sent away to some stranger’s house with my siblings who (particularly the elder 2) were being real jerks and i had no idea that the seemingly kind lady offering the turkish delight was the literal embodiment of evil™ who would kill my family and myself once she no longer had any use for us then yeah i would do it
i mean, yeah, thank you for highlighting Edmund’s often overlooked perspective here… but damn is that a big qualifier.

Thank you so much to the following users for their recommendations to this list:
@icarusskycruiser @dunnimagining @panspanther @artemis-devotee @cukibola @nakedpagan @chaosqueen2222 @herbs-and-nerds @darkfellartist
And similarly, a huge thanks to the following users who left comments with helpful information about certain artists:
@halethevampire for their advising that Loreena McKennit is great for Christopagans, as well as @sara8181 & @johyejung for letting me know that Eivør is actually Faroese rather than Icelandic!
I really appreciate everyone’s comments and helpfulness in building this list, and I will be slowly adding all of the new additions into the Spotify playlist linked at the bottom of the original post.
Much love to all!

Wiccan and Pagan nonbinary folks are magnificent.
D&D adventure concept: a low-level party is prevailed upon by the Princess of a small and impoverished kingdom they happen to be passing through with a highly unusual mission. You see, her father, the King, has just been killed in a hunting accident, but owing to his penchant for wandering off on his own, nobody knows about it yet except her. To complicate matters, it’s the eve of a week-long diplomatic summit with an aggressively expansionist neighbour that would almost certainly take news of the King’s death as a sign of weakness and immediately invade. By some coincidence, the only cleric for hundreds of miles in any direction who’s capable of casting raise dead will take a week to arrive. The party must by any means necessary prevent the visiting dignitaries from realising that the King is dead – ideally without causing any international incidents in the process!

Weekend at Bernies
That’s one of several possible approaches the party could take, yes. Other options include:
choosing one of their own as a royal impersonator (gambling that none of the visiting dignitaries know exactly what the King looks like);
inventing some pretext for why the King can only be seen by private appointment (then keeping everyone sufficiently distracted that nobody individually pieces together the fact that none of them have actually gotten to see the King yet);
fabricating some rather less final royal indisposition (and ensuring that none of the visitors’ spies manage to ascertain that the King is more seriously indisposed than they’ve been led to believe); or
simply finding a way to delay the summit until the itinerant cleric arrives (hopefully without annoying anyone involved badly enough that they decide to start a war anyway!)
…alternatively move the summit to whatever plane the king happens to be at when dead.
Disguising it might be more or less difficult depending on how extreme the king was…
The main trouble there is that any party that’s high-level enough to indulge in planar shenanigans is also high-level enough to cast raise dead themselves.
Though I suppose the King’s castle could just happen to have a free-standing portal to Hell in the basement, or whatnot. Which would raise a number of very serious questions about what sort of kingdom we’re dealing with!
If you were to run this as a one-shot and didn’t want to go through the trouble of making a D&D party, what game would you use for it? (I’m imagining something along the lines of Honey Heist - rules-light with very fast character creation and a focus on interaction.)
That’s a tricky question. The whole point of running scenarios like this with a low-level D&D party is that you’ve got a group of player characters with a very specific game-mechanical toolkit that’s just wildly inappropriate for the task in front of them. I know you’ve all seen me grumping about the problem with games where the mode of play described by the rules disagrees with the mode of play demanded by the narrative, and that’s definitely a bad thing when it’s unintentional, but there are certain types of scenarios where a deliberate disconnect between the two can be exploited to good effect. That doesn’t mean you have to use D&D in particular, but it’s hard to go too much lighter and achieve the same outcome.
That said, if you don’t care about preserving that specific style of play and just want something that will let you run the general idea of the scenario with as little overhead as possible, there are a couple of ways you could go:
If light rules are your number one priority, I’d probably write it up as a Fiasco playset. In this case, the player characters would be whatever random castle servants the princess has dragooned into her scheme, rather than a visiting adventuring party, and could potentially include the princess herself. Make one of the playset’s tables a set of minor magic items with oddly specific functions if you want to capture at least a little bit of the wildly-inappropriate-tools conceit without going full crunch.
Conversely, if you’d prefer a system that’s more amenable to the original visiting-adventuring-party setup, and are prepared to accept a small amount of overhead to get there, you might look at Skulduggery. The system was originally designed to run Vance’s Dying Earth, so it has a fair amount of shared DNA with old-school D&D. Fair warning: the rules have a baked-in assumption that player characters are objectively awful people; this may be a plus or a minus, depending on your group!
Offerings for the Dead
Most people are reblogging an ask I answered long ago about offerings to give to the dead. It’s long overdue, but I’ve finally typed it up into an actual cohesive post.
~ Herbs ~
Lavender, for peace in passing on
Thyme, to give peace to those who have died from violence
Apple, a common Irish symbol for the dead, which I often give to my ancestors
Pomegranates, myth of Persephone and all that
Rosemary, for remembrance
Myrrh, commonly used in necromancy, also used to give off good vibes
Chervil, often used in rituals for the dead
Mugwort, usually used to aid divination and communication with the dead. I also give it as an offering
Bay, same as mugwort (my mentality is that these herbs will help “send” the offerings to the dead)
Lemonbalm, for peace and healing
Wormwood, to strengthen the communication with the dead, as well as healing and revenge
Frankincense, a traditional herb (usually incense) to honor the dead
~ Flowers ~
Calendula, for blessings and eternal love
Rose petals (or the flower) for love and healing
Marigolds, perfect for ancestor worship (as well as spirit work salves and tea)
Lilies, for a sense of security and togetherness; ideal for children
Orchids, for balanced emotions and adoration; ideal for former lovers
Daisies, also ideal for former lovers and lost family members
Tulips, to spread happiness
Dandelions, ideal for connecting with certain spirits (especially when drunk as a tea)
~ Liquids ~
Water, a traditional offering for the dead, often left out for passing spirits
Wine or other alcohol
Juice, namely pomegranate or beet
Oils, such as olive oil, pomegranate oil, coconut, almond, vinegar
~ Other ~
Stones or crystals
Coins
Tobacco (I also know some people who use cigarette smoke or ashes)
Grains, traditionally brown bread
Meat
Candles, namely dark colored or earth-toned
Cleaning up graveyards, placing offerings on graves and speaking to them also makes a great offering
Song and music
Anything personal to the person you’re sending the offering to
~ What to do with the Offerings ~
Burn herbs or flowers (safely) with a written message to “send” the offering to the soul
Leave coins, flowers or herbs on the grave
Pour liquid into the earth, or leave them out in a bowl
Leave offerings out as a “standing offering” for the dead who pass through (idea from @arachnospooky)
This is SO overdue I’m so sorry but I hope it helps!!
The old gods aren't dead
Odin is that rush when you answer a question correctly. He is the wonder of a new book, the smell of a library. Hes the old man at the park who feeds the birds. Hes the man who watches carefully to make sure you get in your car safely.
Thor is the strength in your voice. The booming sound of a woman who speaks her mind. Thunder crashes and lightning guides your path. He is the smell after a storm.
Loki is the cold nip of the first snow. He is the spreading warmth from a cup of cocoa. Loki is the fox you see out your window every morning. He is the shining light of the moon. He is the rush of adrenaline, the thrill from a trickster.
Heimdall is your dog who barks when someone tries to break in. He is the officer who you ask to walk you to your car. Heimdall is the wanderlust of a new adventure, and he is the peace of coming home.
Tyr is the justice served to criminals. Hes the lawyer for those unjustly locked away. He is the protector of the victims, he is the keeper of order.
Bragi is the bass of a song, a thump you feel deep in your chest. He is the poetry you write about your first love, and the poetry you write when you break up. He is the mix of emotions your new favorite song gives you.
Frigg is the joy of holding a newborn. She is the peace in the infants face, the protector of the mother and child. She is the blessings of newlyweds. She is the clear sky on the day of your marriage.
Idun is the morning dew on grass. The first flowers of the spring. She is the newly born animals, she is the milk from a mothers breast. She is the peaceful slumber of the birds, she is the cawing of the crows.
Hel is the beauty in death. The melancholy knowledge that a sick person is no longer suffering. She is the end of a chapter, but the importance of beginning another.
Fenrir is the shadow you catch in the corner of your eye. He is the cry of abused animals, he is the spirit of the rescue team. Fenrir is the look in an old dogs eye, the longing look of hope.
Freyja and Freyr are the adoption agency workers. They help the families who cannot bare child to know the joy of a young heartbeat. They are the nurses who hold your hands in labor. They are the ones who swaddle the new life.
Njord is the crash if the waves. The man picking up trash along the beach. He is the person who pets the stray dog, who washes off its paws. He is the force that pulls ships under, but he is also the force that washes the crew to shore.
Balder is the feeling of looking in a mirror. The feeling of pride and self love. He is the man who complements your outfit, the barber who does childrens hair for free.
The old gods aren't dead, you just aren't looking. The old gods are here still, they never left. If you look closely you'll notice their power. You'll notice the woman wearing a pentacle, the child who is mesmerized by the stories. The old gods arent dead, you just need to look.
have some fucking tips for androgynous presentation that mixes femme and masc styles and isn’t just ‘be afab and wear trousers from the men’s section’
recently I wore some of those trousers with the wide non form fitting legs and added small heeled boots. 10/10 would recommend I felt very high fashion. looked masc but was making the femme click clack heel sound.
basic loungy outfits can be made 100% more queer by adding colour. srsly jeans with a nice tshirt is queer as fuck if the jeans are orange.
wearing the femmest outfit possible, long skirt, cute blouse, etc. becomes a power move when you do so without a single shred of makeup. bonus if your hair is short. bonus if it’s not a pixie. bonus if your shoes are stompy
find all your Statement Pieces. wear them together. voila.
we all know about suspenders. now put them where they don’t belong. attach them to skirts. attach them to your trousers but leave them hanging
literally just wear stuff you think looks rad because if you enjoy both masculine and feminine clothing styles it naturally follows the stuff you think looks rad together will end up being genderfuck
embrace alternative fashion/weird charity shop finds/vintage/stuff that breaks fashion rules even if its ‘technically’ femme/masc. part of fitting into gender roles is wearing mainstream and current femme/masc clothes because gender roles and their associated accepted dress are always shifting so anything that differs from that is automatically subversive.
billowy shirts. undo them as much as you’re comfortable with. somewhat obvious but the howl’s moving castle vibes are v strong. am I a femme arts student or a dashing masc pirate type? who knows.
floral patterns feel a billion times more masc if the colours are bold.
personally after I stopped wearing makeup I felt I lot more able to just be like huh. that’s my face. and feel kinda triumphant in the ugly parts of it and just be unabashedly weird. and if that’s not genderfuck idk what is. same w not shaving my legs tbh. I enjoy just existing.
that said if you do like makeup, using just (just. no foundation or shit) eyeshadow or just lipstick? also a power move.
If you go for the classic dapper style of androgynous presentation but want something closer to androgynous than just weird masc, try adding a soft girly jumper to your manly trousers and etc.
adding an emphasis to your natural waist to a masc outfit (with a belt or something) is a good way to feminise it and vice versa with emphasising a dropped waist in a femme outfit to bring attention away from your smaller natural one (again with a belt or maybe low waisted trousers)
long coats are very good I feel my most formless and inexplicable when my outer layer goes straight past my knees.
obviously all this is gonna be slightly biased to my agab/personal style/body type/etc. but yeah. there’s my tips and hopefully none of them are weirdly unachievable or equate androgyny with masculinity
Love this. 💕
Some other androgynous styles I like:
• Not shaving underarms and wearing lacey tank tops
• Wearing makeup but contouring to appear more masculine
• Shaving the sides of your hair but growing the rest really long
• If afab, binding your chest when wearing a dress or other high-fem outfit
• Makeup for creative, not gender-related things. Put glitter and fake freckles and purple eyebrows and shit
• Super masc clothes with makeup, painted nails, and fem jewelry
• Huge cloaks. Can’t see my gender under my fucking cloak
