Fallout 4 Companions React to being caught staring at Sole Lovingly Part 1
Dogmeat: He was a loyal companion to a fault and would follow Sole into Hell itself if thatās what they required of him. Part of Dogmeat knew his master would do the same for him without hesitation. Those thoughts could be saved for later, though. Right now, he was busy enjoying a rare moment of peace and relaxation with Sole, who was currently chugging down a Nuka-Cola while lounging in a La-Z-Boy chair. Dogmeat stared in adoration at his human as they laughed at an ill-timed joke by one of the other settlers, causing Sole to almost choke on their drink.Ā
His Human wasnāt perfect by any means, but the warmth and kindness that radiated from them and made any place feel like home was why Dogmeat had stuck around for so many years. His ears perked up, and his tail started uncontrollably wagging as Sole fixed their gaze back on him and started patting their lap, signaling he was allowed to come up. Excitedly, he lunged up into their lap, trying to be mindful not to knock anything over with his tail.Ā
Lapping at Soleās hand affectionately, he settled into their lap and let his eyes close as Sole scratched his favorite spot behind his ears. Drifting off to sleep, he dreamed of the shenanigans he and Sole would get into tomorrow.
Cait: She used to get so pissed off at Sole when she saw them looking at her with those sad puppy dog eyes. She snapped at them, saying she didnāt need anyone's pity, especially not some vault dwellers. Later on, though, she realized what a stubborn idiot she was for pushing Soleās help away. After all, they had been the only ones who stuck around while Cait tried to kick her all-consuming chems habit, sat through the meltdowns, tears, curses, and still offered a shoulder to cry on after it all. Cait knew Sole would follow them to the ends of the earth and back again.Ā
Now sheās trying not to drill holes in the back of Soleās head as she monitors them closely from behind while they restock up on supplies. How did she get so fucking lucky to have someone like Sole pick them up and put them back together again? Cait would die for Sole, thatās how deeply she loved them. Sole didnāt need to know that just yet, though, right?. Oh shit, Sole was staring right at them. She realized a little too late as she felt her face start to turn red and burn as Sole raised an eyebrow at their flushed appearance.
Ugh, she would never leave this down!
Deacon: He was always looking at Sole in some context throughout the day. They were partners in the Railroad organization. Most of what they did was dangerous, but no one ever said doing the right thing would be easy, and he and Sole accepted that.Ā
Behind those sunglasses and deadpanned face, his eyes were drinking in the sight of Sole every moment they were granted. All this time, he thought he was being smooth and casual about the yearning looks until they quietly called him out one lazy night at a bar they had been scouting out.Ā
He was walking back to the table with two beers, wishing they werenāt undercover right this instant, as he really wanted to pull Sole into a dark corner and kiss them senseless. Once this mission was over, he planned to do just that. For now, he just needed to focus and take the edge off with some lukewarm, cheap beer. Focusing back on Sole, he could see them smirking as they leaned back in their chair, eyes peering out from under an old cowboy hat.Ā
Ā It made him nervous as they might be on to him; he hated being read so easily.Ā
As he set down the beers, Sole leaned in close, āSee something you like, partner?āDeacon tried not to be taken aback. āNow what makes you say that?ā
Sole smiled again and shrugged as they went to sip their beer. ā Just a feeling, like I always have a pair of eyes on me in the room.āHe took a swig of his beer, keeping his tone light even though he could feel his composure slipping. ā I donāt know what you mean, Sole.āRolling their eyes playfully, āDonāt think I donāt know the looks you give me under those shades of yoursā.Deacon had to will himself not to react; he could make it up to Sole later.Ā
Y'all, it's been a few years. I know this is short, but I am trying to dip my toes back in. Hope you enjoy part one :) Thanks for reading!
