It absolutely drives me crazy when authors on AO3 mark stories that are incomplete as complete and just update the chapter count whenever they add a new chapter. This didn’t used to be a thing! Why are people doing this now!? I haven’t read DM fic in a few months so I don’t know if this is happening with the IWTV/ DM fandom, but I see it all the time in the Pitt fandom. As far as I remember, this was not an issue with DM fans.
