Good Omens saves me and you help me to find my path. Since I have joined you I made new friends, I learned a lot of english..., I traveled, I've done things I never thought I could do my whole life and above all you gave me the possibility to do what I love : create and bring hope and joy for everyone.
It's not always easy, as people know I struggle with my health, I have no proper job and I fight for LGBTQI+ rights, especially trans right and I try to be a good ally in all the other fights. For that I'm volunteer in the first LGBTQI+ association here in my city, I'm an activist and I recently created my own association with some friends.
When I started Teach Me I had no idea the impact it will have on trans people, mostly trans masculin people. I received a lot of good comments, lot of love for the story, lot of good feedback. But the most important and priceless messages I got was from young (and less young) trans people who found themselves, who found the strenght to came out, who started their own transition .. just because this story. I have no word to say how much I'm happy and proud for this.
And none of this would have been possible without @goodomensafterdark , the people who created it and the people who give their time to allow it to exist. It's not easy, it's a lot of work and they do it for free, for us, to make it a safe place for everyone.
Recent event in the community put this place in danger, pointing out the mods and pretending a certain complacency with problematic people, I even read they get artists (by artists they mean just illustrators.. to be clear. I include writers in artists anyway) preferential treatment?? Finally blame GOAD to claim being a safe space when it's not...
So I just want to remind you there is no perfect safe space as long as there is more than one people in it. We are human, we are all different, we can agree on many things but we are not perfect! No one is. We all make our best, even the moralizers.
Places like @goodomensafterdark might be not perfect but they are precious, especially now!

Good Omens After Dark, a great example of rational, inclusive, grown up fandom space. No we don't do drama, but we do do justice. And boats. And occasionally, a chocolate bun.

Okay, now that the night has passed, I would like to say a few words on the subject.
Fair warning: I don't share the opinion that a lot of people seem to have on the Good Omens season 3 news.

A surprising amount of people seem to have entered fandom life with Good Omens, so here is a word coming from somebody who has been in fandoms for 20 years:
Fandoms don't need the source material to continue forever, neither do they need an ending to be satisfactory. What they need is to keep passionate.
Examples: Harry Potter and Naruto are two vibrant fandoms still, despite the source material being over for years and years now, and despite the bad feelings that might be attached to them (the author's views for the first one, and the ending being unsatisfactory to a lot of people for the second one).
Since the very first inklings of "oh my god it might be cancelled", I was seeing people panicking; and I understand. It is jarring to receive the news of such a risk after having had the confirmation of renewal. And I get it, it is jarring to learn that we're getting 90 minutes instead of 6 one-hour episodes.
But 90 minutes aren't nothing. With 90 minutes, you can have a whole plot; and we already have 2 seasons of plot that this film will be continuing on. I would in fact tend to even say that this is good. It will allow for an ending with a bang, and it is in keeping with the endings of a lot of stories in the recent years; it feels honestly right to me to do so.
We will be fine, the fandom will be fine.
Stories end. Some don't get the luck to be ended properly; a lot of them, actually, don't get that chance. We're getting something, for one, and at the end of the day the fandom is still there.
The community won't poof into inexistence; this story will come to an end, maybe at a faster pace than expected, but I have no doubt we will find what we need in it.

It was a dark and foggy night. The Bentley’s headlights cast long shadows across the withered trees as the car sped along the winding road. They’d been driving for quite some time, several hours at least. The Bentley’s boot was full of new acquisitions from a particularly lucrative estate auction. Aziraphale had even managed to secure a copy of ‘Magia Naturalis’ with only the assistance of a very minor, some would perhaps say frivolous, miracle. Crowley remained sceptical of Aziraphale’s motives; he worried that the angel was looking to restart his magic act. The terrain became less familiar the longer Crowley drove. “We’re lost, aren’t we?” Aziraphale said from the passenger seat. “I don’t get lost, angel,” Crowley snapped, glancing down at his phone to see a complete lack of any signal. He couldn’t help but notice the date though. “31st of October, of course it’s bloody Halloween.” “All Hallows Eve… we are lost on the spookiest night of the year!” Aziraphale huffed, holding on for dear life as the car jerked to the left around a sharp bend in the road. Aziraphale’s corporation lurched into Crowley with an audible oof. The blur of trees suddenly stopped and revealed a dark expanse. Up ahead, a tiny golden light stood out amidst the sea of black. As the Bentley’s engine roared down the road, the headlights illuminated a lone manor house. “Crowley,” Aziraphale said, his voice suddenly urgent. “Stop the car!”

A few notes:
I survived!😮💨 (Or did I? …Cue thunder…) But I couldn’t have done it without the Storm Jazz (previously Storm Jizz) support group. What started around harlot’s second published chapter as an emotional support group for the fic eventually morphed into a vast network of conspiracy theorists, support ducks, gerbils in trenchoats and the treacherous @ineffablecrankshaft producing what is surely the most devastating piece of art to ever fall before my eyes (I’m still mad at you!) to help (supposedly) everyone cope not only through the fic, but through the angst relapse of an entire podfic (sorry guys!)
You can check out Crank’s dark humored [censored foul language] art at the very end of the podfic by scrolling down, but I recommend you form your own opinion first. As harlot would say, there are no wrong interpretations.
I was blessed with an incredible musician and a series of custom heartbreaking artworks in @paperclipninja and @wingsofopal respectively, as well as a ferryboat full of beta listeners who have helped catch all the little glitches and improvements that I couldn’t have done without. Thanks to everyone for weathering the storm with me… I couldn’t have done it alone 😉 (cue *You can’t do it alone* in Anathema’s voice)
