two of the most brutally impactful animation shorts I've ever seen are trailers for a leftist history podcast. a medium that famously does not require visuals. but they went ahead and paid for two crazy animated trailers with crazy sound design anyway. a friend showed them to me two months ago. it's genuinely fucked up how much I think about them. is it strange to be in a fandom for 2 two minute long podcast trailers? I am very seriously contemplating making gifsets right now
I cannot convey to you how crazy this sequence about the nixon administration & extension of the vietnam war to cambodia are. you have to watch it for yourself and your sound has to be ON
God, there's something euphoric in finally seeing exactly what we've been begging for for years: Alastor in his prime as both a radioman and a serial killer, and seeing the moment he died.
Today the prophecy was fulfilled.
idk go kill his dad and die embarrassingly probably
What its like when its her turn
Live-action comedy short film about a wildlife researcher's repeated, increasingly cartoonish failed attempts to tag members of a particular rare species for study, and their burgeoning paranoia that it's the same specific bird every time. There is no explicit textual confirmation whether they're correct.
You can really tell which people in the notes have worked with birds.
There are two types of writers:
1. 'It's fiction, it doesn't need to make sense!'
2. 'I didn't account for the rotation of the planet and how that affects the constalations while my characters stargazed at different times of year, I have failed as a writer, and this entire thing is trash'
I’m so hyped aaaaaaa the pilot was so good wtfffff
Already rewatching but... hmm...
The way these annotations on the drawing seem to center keeping Guinevere "young" and "appealing," and the way Olivia seems to treat her like an object or pet (even tugging at her organs like a leash) yeah this is FUCKEDDD...
Images recovered from the qr code in the Knights of Guinevere pilot
really like the fresh angle knights of guinevere takes as a disney critique. it's not so much "fuck you disney lmao" like everyone was expecting, it's moreso "there's value in the stuff disney makes, it's just reduced to mush by people that don't value it". i mean shit, guinevere is the representation of this show's thesis -- an entity that's still treasured dearly by frankie, and it had to escape being held hostage by its makers that were literally ripping its insides out for profit
Tim's gonna put a fucking tracker on Bruce now
I’m now adding “if your version of Superman wouldn’t save a squirrel that’s not Superman” right next to “if your version of Batman wouldn’t comfort a child that’s not Batman.”
