Yes, I am a furry. I embrace my cringe. I made this cutie because I wanted to advertise âyes I draw furry art.â
Did someone say Old Man Yaoi? I love the Legends of Avantris.
Time to feed unprofessional managers what theyâve been dishing out for far too long.
Couple things here, for when you do this to people:Â
1. if you get the âanswer my callâ text, NEVER ANSWER THE CALL.Â
They are calling you because they want to have the conversation verbally, and be able to lie later about what they said or didnât say. Force them to continue via text or email- force them to continue the conversation in writing or not at all.Â
2. âLack of 2 weeks notice is unprofessional!â or the other version, âNot providing notice is illegal!â
No it isnât. Neither is true.Â
And in the US, all states except Montana are âat willâ employment (though you may hear an employer refer to it as âright to workâ to make it sound better, itâs the same thing). Sure, at-will employment means they can fire you without cause, BUT! It also means that you are not legally required to give a reason for quitting, or to give notice of any kind.Â
Is it polite to give notice when you can? Sure. Do bosses expect it? Absolutely. But that does not make you legally required to provide it.Â
3. The only thing I would change in the workerâs interaction here was their response when initially asked to come in.Â
Employee: âHey Mark. Sorry Iâm unable to cover the shift tonight because Iâm studying for my exam tomorrow.âÂ
Donât give a reason for your lack of availability. It may be tempting to. You may feel rude if you donât.Â
DONâT DO IT.
You do not owe your boss any information about what you do off the clock, and any reason you give will only ever be used against you.Â
Boss: âHey I need you to cover Jasperâs shift tonight.â
Employee: âSorry, Iâm not available.â
And leave it at that.Â
Do not elaborate.Â
Do not offer additional information.Â
When you boss asks you to elaborate, because they will, be polite but firm. âWith respect, thatâs personal. Iâm sorry, but Iâm unavailable to cover this shift/work late/come in early/etc.â
Be a broken record- youâre unavailable. Thatâs the only information they need to know, and itâs the only information they have a LEGAL RIGHT to know.Â
Please stop giving your bosses information they donât need to know and donât get to have, because theyâre only going to try and use it to fuck you over later.Â
My job is HR. The above is completely accurate.
Is that a rabbit in your pocket or are you just happy to see her?

...why is everyone's interpretation of the Dorothy situation always 'she killed the Wicked Witch of the East'?
Like- Dorothy didn't do shit! Poor kid just got caught up in a natural disaster and had the bad luck to end up somewhere where people actually can control the weather, so everybody assumed she landed her house there on purpose. She didn't land the house anywhere! She wasn't steering the damn tornado! You did not 'murder somebody' if your house falls over on top of somebody in an earthquake, whether or not you were still inside the house at the time!
That's not even manslaughter, because even for manslaughter, you do sort of have to deliberately do/not do something! If Dorothy had made it to the storm cellar, that death would've played out exactly the same way, except with nobody there to take credit/blame. She didn't make the house, she didn't make the cyclone, she didn't control where the house hit the ground.
I will grant that following that one up by accepting a hit on the Wicked Witch of the West/Elphaba is going to make things a bit tricky for her defence lawyer, but I'm still entering a solid 'not guilty' plea for that first one.
Even with The Witch of the West, she can claim self-defense. In the book she was made the Witchâs slave and constantly threatening her. Theft of (technically) her property was what sent her over the edge. The â39 movie and Wicked the novel, not only was she kidnapped and constantly threatened, the Witch actually attacked her/the scarecrow with a deadly weapon (flaming broomstick).
And in all cases, Dorothy didnât know that would, or even COULD, happen. Book Dorothy did assault the Witch with water but in retaliation/self defense, â39 Dorothy did it strictly out of self defense and to save the scarecrow, Wicked novel Dorothy was actively trying to save Elphaba because her dress caught fire when she was flailing the flaming broom around.
Wicked the musical Dorothy however⌠honestly we donât know the circumstances of her throwing the water because we see it from Glindaâs PoV⌠which is to say, not well. We just see her silhouette pick up the bucket and throw the water and then back away in horror. Was it in self defense? Was it a distraction for the witch hunters gone wrong? Did Elphaba accidentally catch fire? Or was it just out of frustration of being kidnapped? Hopefully part 2 clears that up.
Okay, revisiting this post where I defended Dorothyâs actions from her various adaptations of the melting scene and have come to the conclusion that Wicked For Good Dorothy⌠is a murderous sociopath. She knows the rumors that water will melt the witch, they actively sing it in âMarch of the Witch Hunters,â she advances on Elphaba whoâs holding out her broom in what appears to be a defensive stance, and the girl throws the water on her anyway. And then holds up the broom like a trophy before skipping away.
Girlie, no. Jail. In the stage show she backs away like she honestly didnât know that would happen. But movie!Dorothy?? First degree murder. A somewhat competent lawyer could still claim self-defense, Elphaba DID kidnap her, after all. But that little girl reveled in her victory. One eye-witness testimony from Glinda the Good (which sheâd never give because she wasnât there wink wink) and that girl wouldâve been down in the cages with Morrible.
NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!
I support the "fiction isn't real so nothing matters" mindset but tbf at a certain point it can tip over into "the curtains are just blue" territory
like yes actually there is a conversation to be had about how a characters actions are framed and how they thematically fit with the rest of the story and it can in fact reflect the author's beliefs. some authors are even trying to make a point
not all depiction is glorification but sometimes it is and you need to be able to tell the difference. not because your immortal soul will be tainted by reading The Bad One, but because you need to have reading comprehension skills

BAHDEE LANGWIDGE!!
I donât even like Jimmy Kimmelâs unfunny ass but ABC firing him is so alarming. Theyâre coming for the mid white men. Weâre toast.
They characterized his description of the CK shooter as MAGA as âhate speech.â The FCC chair openly threatened ABC saying they can do this âthe easy way or the hard way,â and ABC caved almost immediately.
This is wildly fucked up.
I canât stress enough how mild Jimmyâs comments were on the situation and how deeply, deeply terrifying the reaction has been.
I know this isn't directly related, but I do think it's important context to add:
After CBS cancelled Stephen Colbert, Donald Trump immediately tweeted that Jimmy Kimmel was next.
That happened less than a month ago.
I don't think that and his firing over Kirk are unrelated events.
We are in a country where free speech is actively being repressed.
Sinclair Broadcast Company (which owns ABC and many other cable networks) said they would reinstate Kimmel after extensive review, AND after he:
Makes a public apology (for a complete non-joke)
DONATES MONEY to Turning Point USA (aka the propaganda group that Charlie Kirk made and is now being run by his clearly grifting wife)
Sinclair is also broadcasting a Charlie Kirk remembrance special during the show's timeslot.
This is no longer an alarm. The fire is in the room and it's swallowing it whole.
Sinclairâs ABC stations to air a special in remembrance of Charlie Kirk during Jimmy Kimmel Live timeslot on Friday BALTIMORE â Sinclair, th
In case you're unfamiliar with Sinclair, they've been pulling this manipulative bullshit for a LONG time now, just not so overtly. Witness this Last Week Tonight segment from eight years ago:

Glinda after Elphaba slaps her back.
if Charlie Kirk didn't want his death to be made fun of he should have died in seriouser circumstances
his last insta post. man I can't. I can't make a better joke than this
Ok, so just to be clear, the full circumstances of his death were:
-Shot while saying that gun violence wasn't a problem
-While standing under a banner reading "Prove Me Wrong"
-After posting "Play certain games, win certain prizes"
-By a shooter from a rival right wing terror group
-Who engraved his bullets with memes
-And would have gotten away scott free because the investigators were being led by two former podcast hosts
-Except he decided to brag to his family about it
-Causing everyone fawning over Kirk as some kind of martyr to immediately shut the fuck up
-To the point where the President went in less than 24 hours from "he was like a son to me" to "Charlie who?"
This is like something a writer on Law & Order would write to try to give the moral "hey advocating for gun violence is bad".
WE LOVE YOU PEDRO
