The plot twist of Ethan being dead in Resident Evil Village was teased as far back as the puzzle to escape the main house in Resident Evil 7. In Greek mythology, Cerberus is a monstrous 3 headed dog that guards the underworld and prevents spirits of the dead from escaping. Using this analogy, it could be understood that Ethan is breaking free from the "underworld" of the Baker house filled with Molded, and leaving the place where he died by passing through Cerberus and escaping back into the world of the living. Another supporting evidence for this theory is that at one point in development Jack had a dog which you would've had to have fought as well, making him Hades in this analogy.

in case yall havent tuned into mainstream us news, the head lines are dubbing pro-palestine activists as "anti israel mobs".
the issue with this selective langauge "anti israel" is that it is not mentioning the word "palestine". when they say "israel vs hamas" they are ignoring what the protests are really about: israel is killing and bulldozing palestinians.
they are ignoring what israel has done to palestine, and helping the illegal occupation play as the victim. from the beginning, israel has been attacking and killing palestinians in collective punishment and ethnic cleansing. but to us news, this isnt about them.
language and tone is important in telling you "the story". being pro-palestine is anti-israel but thats not something morons understand if they continuously consume fox news for years. the news isnt calling them pro-palestine, theyre calling them anti-israel. they arent correctly called activists or supporters, theyre called mobs and aggitators.
i learned about Tim Wong who successfully and singlehandedly repopulated the rare California Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly in San Francisco. In the past few years, he’s cultivated more than 200 pipevine plants (their only food source) and gives thousands of caterpillars to his local Botanical Garden (x)
Sometimes, people are really great.
This is also an example of picking One Thing and putting most of your Better The World efforts there. We have so many different important issues to care about and act toward, and it’s tempting to try and do a Little for Many Things - and I’m not saying that little bits of effort don’t add up! They do. But often you’ll make a bigger impact (and possibly have less compassion/activist fatigue) if you direct the majority of your efforts toward one or two things.

When public services are affordable and convenient, people will always choose those resources. They are not supposed to be a capitalistic profit-seeking initiative, they are developed for the benefit of the people, for a better life, just as government resources should be used. (tweet)

I mean, surely a Rabbi somewhere has written a paper on this, right? There's a whole wealth of precedent and prior research.
Like, is it fine because it's fictional, or not because it's a reflection of you, and does that change if it's a free-form game like D&D where you can control your actions more directly and it's meant to be more directly you (vs a game which happens to use porkchops as the HP recovery mechanism but it could've been anything)? And is there the "if your (game) life is in danger you can do something (in the game) normally impermissible by Jewish law" thing?
How about, "eating pork in minecraft is not, in fact, eating pork, but commanding a simulated character under your control to eat pork; so you may not command the character to eat pork if the character is Jewish, as this would be leading either a Jew to transgress, or the image of a Jew to transgress, which might make other Jews think this is acceptable behavior."
So it might be permissible, but it is not encouraged, as it leads you to fight the evil inclination.

I know people outside of the Southwest generally don’t think about the desert / its peoples but this is only one disgusting act committed by DHS/the United States. They’ve also blown up ancient O’odham burial sites this year.
Usually I avoid posting things that bum me out on my blog but I want to make it clear for people who don’t live out here in the desert.
Harming these cacti, even accidentally, is a felony. Collecting their dead parts requires permission. They are some of the most protected plants in the country and even having them on your private property does not make you immune to these laws.
And yet there will be no punishment for the people that did this and it’s infuriating. The silver lining is that cacti are pretty robust and often can be replanted to an extent, but there’s no excusing the damage this wall has caused not only to plants, but to animals and people as well.
