I used to and am still mildly annoyed when TV shows hold the audience's hand and repeat certain phrases, information, or tropes.

But the fact that media literacy is on a downward trend, maybe the show runners have no choice but to do that?

I don't need to see a close up of El's nose bleeding and wiping her nose every time to show that she just used her powers to do something.

But when I really think about it, there's probably an audience member that sees something move weirdly and they go "WOW HOW DID THAT HAPPEN???? IS THIS A PLOT HOLE? DID THEY EDIT SOMETHING OUT? :O"

Or Will touching his neck or something.

"WOW! HOW DID WILL KNOW THE MIND FLAYER WAS COMING?! :O THIS IS SO OUT OF LEFT FIELD!"
