sad we don’t get many scenes outside the hospital so we didn’t get a scene of frank driving to work and blasting bleachers’ “i wanna get better” while singing along on the top of his lungs

I wish depression were an emergency. I wish someone could take one look at how sick I am and go “oh my god, we need to get you to a hospital!” and then when we get there I get rushed into surgery and the surgeons say “it’s a good thing you brought her here when you did, this is a seriously advanced case” and then they put me under and spend the next ten hours pulling metres of long, sticky black strands of gunk out of my body, throwing it immediately into an incinerator so that it can’t infect anyone else. And then they could stitch me back up and I could rest a few days, and when I leave the hospital everyone can see how much better I am and they congratulate me saying “well done, you’ve been so brave, I’m so glad you’re ok. I love you.”

jaeger pilot langdon who gets dropped by his copilot robby when his addiction comes to light in the drift while fighting a kaiju and he spends a few years working on the wall only to get called up by marshal abbott to fight again and guess which ranger from the jaeger academy has 51 drops and 51 kills and wears glasses and is blonde and is named mel king and is drift compatible with him :)))))))

jaeger pilot mel who lost her sister while drifting and retired from being a pilot bc of the trauma, and also bc she just. can’t drift with anyone else. she tried and they all failed, so she became a teacher at the academy or maybe a shatterdome tech. cue return of langdon, who used to work with robby but needs to find a new copilot. he goes in for compatibility testing and someone with a bone to pick puts him with mel (even tho she doesn’t usually participate in these) bc she can never drift with anyone and they want to screw langdon over…and then it turns out they’re so drift compatible it breaks the scale

anyway then they go and punch kaiju and save the day yay!!!
